Natural Tapering Off
A caught an episode of the TBS show My Boys recently that addressed a common thing that happens with couples: The natural tapering off aka The NTO. You know how it is when the novelty has worn off (no pun intended) and the hot and heavy shifts to “lucky if it’s steady” stage? Yeah, it creeps up on you pretty fast.
There really is no way to avoid The NTO because, well it’s physically impossible to maintain the same intensity and frequency. Oh you probably have the very best intentions to! It’s just that random things such schedule conflicts, varying libidos, work distractions, etc. all conspire against you.
What if it’s not just due to these things though?
If you have hit a tapering off period way too soon, should you be concerned? What would you do if your desire to rip your date’s clothes off wanes soon after you two have become exclusive?
Do men notice when the natural tapering off stage begins? I think women don’t realize it as quickly as men do. What do you guys think?

The way I see things is, if your BOYFRIEND OR GIRLFRIEND is never ever eva concerned with where you go and/or who you spend time with, NEVA EVA, you may want to start inquiring about their whereabouts. Don’t be fooled ‘cause folks care. Those that don’t it’s usually because they are occupied in other happenings

NTO what is that? When you meet that special someone their will be some natural tapering off in some areas, but if you know this is THE ONE new passion will come because you believe she/he is the one. You like how they carry themselves and now that you know them better they meet a lot of the requiements you like in a mate. (It’s me….LURKER)

Luvbug – I get you – it’s a whole nother world, that one she grew up in. Everything isn’t so cut & dried like is is from where we sit.
I do believe Elin when she said it was H– up in that house. Po or rich, think about being up in the house with a cheating spouse, especially one that cheated to that magnitude. He was not on tour after the mess broke. Imagine having to look at his lying, squirrel-looking behind everyday and you can’t even turn on the tv without hearing about some new skank of his that has surfaced, even down to the neighbor down the street’s daughter. 2CPTG, you know some days this man can be working his magic, I mean doing everything just the way he knows I like it and I know by the time I get where we are trying to go he feels like he has run a marathon. And that is all because something even when I don’t realize it has my mind.

blue – I think that whole “addiction treatment” thing was for publicity – so he could get some of his endorsements back. Just getting “attention” from alot of chicks cause you’re a rich athlete that gets it thrown at you 24/7 does not an “addict” make. I’ve read about real addicts – it’s like being on crack. They cannot FUNCTION at all unless they are having it all the time. They can’t go thru a day at work – they will grab anybody willing and close their office door and do it to get thru the day. All this time, even with his daddy passing, he seemed to function pretty well out on that golf course.

blue I don’t think it helps at all. I do believe it’s just a way for the people pulling the strings to to try and reduce him to a groveling sex fiend. Question, what do yall guys think of women with male friends? Me and my friend were discussing this and I notice there is alot of this going on. I also notice alot of guys with women friends in and out of relationships.
Could you marry someone with a friend of the opposite that is to close for comfort? I know its all about trust (before Raqi or Kimmie start talking) but lets talk turkey!
Do yall think this is a problem even if someone is single, like a turnoff?

Melo – If you want to know some drug lingo, there is this show on the History channel called Gangland. I have watched it a few times – it is very interesting, especially the narrator. He has one of those haunting voices. But they give you the definition of all the street words used.

2CPTG, I don’t know but I would think if it’s all he ever thinks or care about, he is willing to risk any and everything for it, he is easily manipulated by it, he has to have it (he thinks) all the time, he’ll do anything to get it, he becomes hateful and manipulative when denied it…But that’s just what I think.
I personally don’t believe in non-substance induced addictions. Sex, as with most anything, first starts with a thought. The key is not entertaining that thought. So sexual addiction is not real. It’s a choice.

I have a friend that says he’s much better now but was telling me, before we became friends that he actually went to the doctor because he wanted sex ALL THE TIME. He said he wanted to find out if something was wrong with him. Frankly I don’t think he was much beyond that. I think he wanted me to believe that. That was the first time I had a sit down and a dude told me that. I mean I’ve always pretty much placed that mentality to someone ho-ish but first time heard admitted.

And another thing about that so called sexual addiction, I have had some of the most awesome rumps and endings that you could ever imagine yet that state of elation is not one that I would won’t to live in all day every day. I like sex and I love it with my husband but you know there other things in life that matter too. And I like taking time to enjoy those other things.

Yes there is 2CPTG. When you should be doing something else just as or more important instead.
My husband and I have relations on an as needed bases. Sometimes that need is twice a week and sometimes it may 4 times a week. It’s all about satisfying the need.

Although like you, I don’t really believe such an “affliction” exists, if you were an “addict”, you couldn’t be away from Mason for ANY length of time without wanting it. You would drop the baby off at daycare, go to Publix to buy groceries, then talk the man that helped you load your groceries into getting in the car with you to do the dang thang! You wouldn’t be able to wait until Mason got home from work that evening.
