Does fashion matter?

Have you ever had a date show up and their entire outfit was inappropriate  or maybe even bizarre?  I think it seems like a silly thing to “deduct” points on when you are checking somebody out.  Does fashion really matter that much, though?

I remember talking to a guy who said he didn’t call for a second date because the woman showed up to the first date looking too conservative.  He said she may as well have worn a “nun habit” considering how little skin she was showing.

What do you think fashion and style says about our personalities and image on the dating scene?

Would you dump someone because you didn’t like the way they dressed?

Is it ever a good idea to give wardrobe  “suggestions” to people you are dating?  What if you were in a relationship, do you think it’s ok to change your significant others’ clothing or style?

When you see people out and about, is it their “style” that catches your eye before their looks?

Happy Friday!

2CPTG to answer your 2:29…

My marido does pretty good when buying stuff for me but has missed the mark a time or two. I do have one suede jacket that he bought that I would not have bought for myself but I make it work. I coordinate with other items and it looks works well.

I have returned an item though that he bought for me. But I guess that makes us even for him not wearing a shirt that I bought him yet and it’s been almost a year.

@Dreams..naww I am not for suing folks willy-nilly(Don’t thump me Poppa G) but I am for consumer being fully educated of their rights and when those rights tramped on..well all bets are off. But I think it is important that people know what they are getting into. Alot of this housing bubble drama was all about folks..just looking for the dream(while noble) but not worthing or knowing about what it takes to maintain that dream.

Melo, the problems with the Falcons are many… First and foremost is that there is no expectation od greatness…The team and in some ways my city is satified with just being ok…The Falcons want a team full of nice guys and thats cool except it takes a little edge to get over the hump and this team will have none of that!!!

THat’s a double edged sword (from both sides of the table). You can hand somebody documents, go over them one.by.one. And they come back weeks later and haven’t read the papers and forgot the entirety of the conversation and you know what? It’s never their fault.

Kym This is true. Many of them just took the lender’s word as gospel when they told them they could comfortably afford 30% of their monthy income.

2C – I had an ex to give me a fake Tag Hueur watch. It was bulky and not my style – I like thin, feminine watches on my small wrists. I think I wore it once.

My first college boyfriend gave me this cute sweater for Christmas. I loved it. The first time I wore it, he asks me where I got it and said he didn’t like it. Imagine the look on his face when I told him he gave it to me! That’s when he told me his mother picked it out and had it wrapped! Dang, at least see what it is before you let your mother wrap it up!

Melo – I actually love college ball more than pro. It’s that school connection and the rivalries that are fun. If you don’t have the connection(you or your kid or someone you know or the hometown school) then I could see a person not really being into it. It’s fun seeing classmates or friends go pro too.

Woah, woah, woah.

There was just as much fraud as there was consumer ignorance.

But let’s not forget the fiduciary responsibilities (since codified into law) that were lax;

Poor underwriting – got a pulse, get a loan;

Poor documentation- can’t read, the “X” will do;

and flat out forgery, changing folks income on applications.

A lot of what happened was greed on the parties of both parts, but let’s not act like there wasn’t strong financial incentives to get people in house knowing there were going to be out in 2 years.

Some lenders, brokers and agents only wanted the commission, not the customer.

no thuggs in that team. Theye def need to throw the thugs out,even in college.

They(thuggs) set a bad precedent and besides,they just get used by the college AD’s so their programs can win but they themselves,the thugs get no meaningful return nor developement,personal human nor academic…its wasted money..and wasted human beings..after football/sport is over.

Melo one of the biggest thugs in the league played for the Colts, Marvin Harrison. Google his arrest, shottings and drug dealins. While he played for the Colts. The Pats are a good team to look at. Moss even toned down when he got there.

Dan, they found two of his guns and they matched some past unsolved cases and are bringing a levy of new charges. Found them on his posesssion recently. On Jun 10th during a traffic stop they confiscated another gun and when they did ballistics those casing match the casings found in the victims car. And another gun that he admitted was in his posession that the cops recovered ballistics matched some other shootings. And those cases are heading to trail soon. If I shoot a person and get away with it in the legal system does not mean that I am not a thug it means I just did not get caught. Plenty of people doing crimes and not getting caught that does not make them less of a criminal it just makes that a “smarter” criminal.

How could he have the same gun from 2 years ago? He was never charged. His bullets matched those at the shootout scene, but no one could put the gun in his hand, but the scetchy victim.

Are we talking June of this year on the traffic stop? Don’t know about that.

But “smart” criminals aren’t derided when they were business suits. Or are managers or CEO’s. A crime is a crime whether committed with a gun or keystroke. If the law can be used to get both of ‘em off, what’s the difference really?

Melo, you asked earlier which player has left the Falcons and become a star. You haven’t heard on Deion ( primetime)??? He won a ring with 49ers and cowboys and almost won a world series with the Braves. Andre (Lisa Lefteye) Rison didn’t do to bad when he went to the Packers and got a ring.

He obvioulsy kept the same gun and when asked if there was a gun in the car on June of this year he said “no” they searched the car and found the gun, they did test on it and it matched…But to your point, thuggery goes to the top CEO’s, Presidents of countries to crack head fighting for change to buy a hit.

The most versatile suite for men is navy blue, followed closely by charcoal grey. Those suits should cover over 90% of all occasions. Just wear different shirts and accentuate with different accessories (ties, cuff-links) and they will look different every time.

PLEASE don’t buy suits at Men’s Wearhouse! Remember, it’s much better to have a few, well-made, well-fitting suits than many crappy ones. The same goes for shoes.
