Is your career affecting your love life?
So I have been a little stressed and overworked lately. Turns out, when I am super stressed out I am a total nightmare to be around. I know, shocking. I have been stressed before but I didn’t think I really let it impact my love life.
In the past, I would always be able to balance work/career pretty well. Well, not this time, my friends. I actually sent a text message to my guy of interest last week that said “I really don’t feel like being around people right now. I will let you know when I am.” Seriously, who does that!?
I had to call and apologize because that was a clear example of a woman not in her right mind. Sometimes stress and work makes your love life take a nosedive. It’s particularly awful when it was already the pits!
How do you single and professional people do it? When you feel stressed out, is that when you try to date more to distract you?
When you are under a tremendous amount of pressure, do you let your date know or do you pretend it’s all good until the date is over?
Should you take a break from dating until you get some sense of normalcy back in your work life?
I need tips, people! I can’t even be trusted with text messages right now!

Raqi- Actually, I’d like to add…it’s the saddest when the person falls (or suffers a paralyzing stroke or something) just after or prior to retiring.

@DD – i make mine with raisins and cream cheese icing. not nuts or coconut tho. my aunts doing well, thanx. she’s in remission now and is in good spirits. shes the one in the fam that when she sees something of yours that she likes she walks up, pinches you and says “that looks mine-ish” lol.

In the end, it’s the quality of our relationships that matter most! We put too much of any emphasis on working ourselves to death here in the U.S. It’s all about balance! Put in your 40 hours and be done with it! It takes work to live, but live is about living! Spending quality time with those whom matter most is the most important thing!
With technology, it’s so hard to unwind from the stress! But sometimes you’ve just got to LEAVE WORK AT WORK! Don’t feel an ounce of guilt! You deserve to live life and at times just be! Even if it involves doing absolutely nothing for a day!
Nurture yourself! After all, you’ve earned it!

@DD- she’s a trip. wish sometimes we lived closer, but hey, i guess it makes the visits even more fun. good aunt story – she’d just got divorced when they came out with the blue m&ms. her son had like a mayo size jar in his room, just collecting blue m&ms. he and his sister go to spend the weekend with dad at his new place (tiny hole of an apartment lol) and aunt eats the whole frickin jar of m&ms. when they come home, he starts yelling about them, accuses aunt, who swears she didnt do it. only prob, after eating like a mayo size jar of em, her fingers and lips started to tint blue. all we could do was laugh, she couldnt even keep a straight face while pleading innocence!
