City & State or ZIP

You had me at hello…on Aisle 3

The night I went to The Gold Club for Jezebel Magazine’s Most Eligible party, I was scoping out the crowd to find a few singles to interview.  I was mingling and chatting people up when an adorably fabulous woman came up to me and we got to talking.

She gave me a business card and I gave her mine, telling her about the Misadventures in Atlanta dating blog.  She immediately lit up and excitedly told me that she was newly married and very happy.  She recounted the sweet sweet story of when she met her new husband at a grocery store (!!) and that she really believes that she found the true love of her life.

She told me that when they met she didn’t call him right away, she waited a few days   After she finally called him back, they scheduled a date. Their first date lasted hours and within a few weeks…they were engaged.

This is when she called her husband over to introduce us.  They told me that he literally had his entire house packed up and was scheduled to leave Atlanta.  The day he met her? He canceled the move – without even knowing if she would call back! Talk about serendipity, right?

I suppose some would classify that as love at first sight;  or at the very least, smitten in a grocery store!  Do you believe in love at first sight?

I know I am hopeless romantic and this kind of love story is what I love to hear about to satisfy my curiosity about how people meet and fall in love.  I just think it is possible to meet someone and immediately feel as if the person is right for you.

I have met only one man that I felt that way about instantly.   It didn’t work out but that intense attraction I felt was a first for me and I was not at all prepared for it! Have you ever felt that way about someone when you met them?

Guys, if you met someone that really blew you away, how far would you go to get and keep her?  Would you rearrange your life or postpone a major move in an effort to make it happen with the woman of your dreams?

PeePee – Love the lotto analogy. Guess I tend to play the same numbers waiting on it to hit….but every now and then i’ll do a cash 3 or something. Some folks like to do only quick picks….Guess your numbers hit but you chose the annuity payout option lol

Retell the story…….but in an elaborate “love at first site” way

@Luvbug!??

I could and to appeal to female sapppy feelings,be elaborate enough to invoke the feelings of desire i had for her, watching her as she glided on the ramp and me imagining how she could be my future wife and the wonderful lyfe we could have tgether.

1. the story wld be a contrived one coz my feelings for her(desire and lust) then had nothing to do with luv..the luv came after i started relating to her

2 the story wld be good for single folks(esp ladies) just so it puts them(mentally) in a situation where they dont get jaded about single lyfe and marriage and proly make them hope to be in a similar situation some day,if they are looking to be married some day.

3.Its just a good story..it never happens like that in reality..unless u look back and imagine then and now, assuming u are in a happy place.

Mike P – I’m sorry that happened to you, but I see now why you come across as a little bitter. I’m sure there’s more to Wise’s story too, but why would she call him days later if he had told her he was leaving the next day? See, you just don’t want to give a woman any credit! I’m sure there’s more to your story too – we’re only hearing your side of it. Either way, she’s moved on and married someone else. Don’t continue to give her power over you and your future happiness by thinking every woman you meet is suspect and will hurt you like you said she hurt you. Life is short – enjoy it and don’t give her the power!

Has anyone made a spouse out of a wh0re (knowingly) and it worked? Or has anyone married and stayed happily married to someone in which you had sex to soon. (notice this is not gender specific)

Purple – If they married and are happy, then the physical itimacy didn’t happen “too soon”. They did what worked for the two of them, without judgement.

thanx Sassy & blue. no, Luvbug. no ultimatum. he’s fully committed with no time constraints. he just wants to be hubs & wifey now because he knows she’s the one. she’s not stringing him along, but she and i are a lot alike in that we really enjoy our independence. i was afraid i was advising her based solely on my own pov.

kimmie, I agree, I just wonder where others get the “need to wait longer” or “this is to soon” stuff from.

Do you think facebook, myspace, or twitter helps destiny along? Chink you don’t have to wonder where he is, go facebook buddy

I think it can. My sister and another friend reconnected with old sweethearts from school and now they are married. Another story I read was after a “missed opportunity” in exchanging numbers led to the woman finding the guy on FB and reconnecting. They are engaged now.

Hello superstars of the blog world!

On Topic: I do not believe in love at first sight but I believe a very intense attraction can happen whenn you first meet someone. Also, if you life is balance and drama free then you are more likely to be ready for a love at first sight meeting.

A special hello to Free2b! How are you doing beautiful lady?

On that note I am gone!

Make today your best day!

Has anyone made a spouse out of a wh0re (knowingly) and it worked?

I’ve asked that question on here before. I think it depends on your definition of whrre. A lot of folks get soiled and spoiled leftovers…remember one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

Purple Hilton Head, Calloway or Chattanooga.

no, Calloway gardens isn’t a high end resort.. its more of a relaxing, secluded location with different gardens as the theme, they have many hotels and cottages there and they have a man-made beach out there too… I’m sure you could use some peace and quite and your SO will love the beauty. Go google it up and check it out and see if something you’d enjoy going to.

Purple – 11:44 – You know where that mindset comes from! LOL! Several sources! Some of it comes from men judging women that “give it up too soon” and didn’t make them “work for it” – thinking “she does this with every dude” though he was a very willing participant! It comes from experience – most of time, things work out better if you wait and get to know someone and what their intentions are before taking things there. A lot of times things won’t ever “go there” after you find out a few things!

It’s about maturity and understanding what works for you and what and when you feel comfortable sharing with another person.

They have Tibey Island, the Beach, ghosts tours, and romantic restaurants.
you can stay in a hotel or rent a condo, bed and breakfast that have ammenities.

I went there 2 yrs ago and would love to go back.

it’s a winery/vinyar/hotel north of atlanta. only about 30 minutes up 85. you can hike the property; wine tasting/vinyard tour; cooking classes (where you get to down all the wine you can handle while you’re cooking & dining :) ). they gift each of you a bottle of wine after the class, and the rooms are beautiful. they do have a spa but i’m not sure about a pool. there are restaurants & bars onsite with live music as well.
