Top ten dating rules for vacations

I have officially shaken my birthday blues off and I am actually looking forward to the big day next Monday. I plan to have a wonderful, fun-filled trip to Florida. I will relax and read, soak up some sun, and most of all flirt like a professional! I’m talking shameless, nothing to lose “boy macking” behavior.

Vacations have a way of loosening some of your inhibitions, don’t they? That is the great thing about taking vacations, you can forget all your worries and focus on having a good time.

Vacations are supposed to be fun but sometimes it doesn’t always work out that way. I can recall a few “when keeping it real goes wrong” trips. I made a wrong move (told an older woman I was alone) and ended up stuck with jerk (her son!) on a boat for the weekend. Or the time when I landed in the midst of a couple’s retreat as I was going solo. Fun times, oy.

What is the best vacation you ever had? Did you go alone or with friends? You guys may know that I am not a huge fan of dating rules, so to speak. I admit that perhaps there is something to be said for being “grown up” and adhering to a few guidelines to avoid any problems.

What would you list as your top ten dating tips or rules for summer vacations? Do you believe that being away from your normal world allows you explore a different side of your personality?

Have you ever been on vacation and did something totally out of character for you?

The major one place I don’t need to ever go to is Gary, Indiana. I don’t even like the sound of Gary, Indiana.

@PoppaG ~ they also say the kids could order the exact same meal but swear it tastes different because there’s no toy inside. Talking about subliminal marketing.

@Melo Outside of Eurpoe, Australia, and North America you can’t really go anywhere without exposure to extreme poverty…
Not to be funny, but the poor people in the US have it good compared to places I have seen.

The investigator jobs can be dangerous. You just don’t know how people will react when they find out that they are being investigated.

Being a paralegal had some excitement, especially when I did foreclosure work. I’ve been threatened so many times. Once I was followed home, and I had to call the police. There are some crazy people out there.

@EPO….I have seen poverty in africa..but the poor live in houses for the most part. In India, they live on the street, the kids grow on the streets, helping their parents beg, they marry on the street and live their lives to die on the street, with no chance of ever getting rich.Everything is made worse by the caste system(societal ranking akin to aparhteid). If u born a Harijan, the poorest caste, u die a haijan with no chance of becoming anythihng better.

@Tazzee….but Victoria Falls was one of the most awesome experiences of my life!

U bet!

I was there once or twice as single but wld luv to take my whole crew there and do much more there than I did then. There is much more to do there than just gaze at the falls if u book with a safari lodge there and they package events for vacationers.

Almost accepted a job there, many years ago but declined the offer at the last minute..thats a story for another blog day!

ARED – Actually I did. I pulled up and the driveway was packed. I walked in the house and it got detention quiet in there and all those chicks just stared at me. I asked if I could get them anything while I was in the kitchen of course no one said anything. I then proceeded to walk downstairs.. Thinking about that now.. That was a heckuva move cause 20 something chicks couldve probably taken me. I mean Sorors husbands were banned from speaking to me. And some of them I went to college with and they met their wives thru me and mine.. It was funny cause when they were by themselves we were cool but with the wife it was like the hand phone signal I’ll holla at ya later. But we’re cool now so its all good.

@ Melo define “house” I consider a cardboard shack with maybe… a tin roof at most, still living on the street.
But I get your point, I have not been to India but I did visit a couple settlements in South Africa and that was an experience that will not be forgotten. I make it a point to visit such places where ever I go if it is possible to do so safely. I would not be pleased with myself if I allowed myself to believe that the tourist district represented the way of life in any city.

The ones that came with you fool with you and the ones that came with her fool with her.. Thats the divorce effect. You not only divorce the person.. You divorce, friends and family also…

So my guys can come see me at my home now and hang out where at first it was a arguement when they got home.. Oh and since a few of them are divorcing now.. You know Im the one that made it out with minimal damage in their eyes so they wanna know my secrets for success. I have a friend who is divorcing. She moved out of her house and into his, she couldn’t sell her house and finally did after a year or so. Now she’s getting divorced and he has to move out of the house he bought before the wife was even in the picture. That’s cold.

The only “hood” I have ever thought I may have been in danger was around 2000 in The Magnolia Projects in N.O. I actually locked the car doors, and when we did stop at an establishment nearby I got out of the car, took about 3 steps and then got back in the car and drove away… I wasn’t felling it at all. I have been in the Hoods of Detroit, Miami, Chicago, ATL, NYC, and a few other places with noooo problem… but the Magnolia ‘jects was something else all together.

ARED – Its a dirty game.. And Divorce lawyers make it even worse.. And I bet nobody is telling her shes wrong for that but somebody gotta put the brakes on or it will definitely turn into a ugly situation. And Im thinking her staying in his house has made him take the gloves off.. In every divorce there is one moment where ya’ll can either go right or go wrong and you remember it.. I remember mine when it was like Fcuk it…. It on now.. U wanna go to war I’ll take you to war.. And alot of the stuff I pulled in divorce court I feel bad about but felt like I didnt have any choice. Tell her if it is anyway they can get to the table draw it up and get in the courts themselves they would save a ton of money and time.. But that too much like right and both are being driven on emotions right now.. So thinking clearly is out the window.

Kym: That investigator stuff is fun until you start running into people you had locked up. My and college room-dawg did it after we graduated. We were like Crocket and Tubbs. He was Tubbs because of the taco meat.

Off topic…WTF (This guy REALLY needs a life. I at least hope they were “female”)

In AJC

“A 37-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly having sex with several horses, police said.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office Byron Christopher Jordan was arrested and charged with bestiality. He is accused of having sex with several horses.

Byron Christopher Jordan was apparently caught in the act Tuesday morning by the owner of the horses, who called Covington police. Jordan was charged with bestiality, a felony in Georgia, and with giving an officer a false name.

Lt. Wendell Wagstaff told the Covington News that Jordan was wearing only dirty pajama bottoms with the fly open. He also reportedly had a strong odor, according to the report.

Jordan, from Covington, was transported to the Newton County jail, where he is being held without bond. He was previously arrested on May 7 for DUI, according to jail records.

“It was just another arrest,” Covington Police Chief Stacey Cotton told the AJC.

Cotton declined to release further details, stating that the public information officer does not work past 5 p.m.
