The first things I notice: height, smile, teeth, eyes and haircut. I see all of these things at the same time. Hmmmmmm I am a sucker for a man with a nice smile.

Curiously, in a supposed anti-incumbent year, most of the departing are not retiring but seeking higher office. We may recycle more than we replace. The bad news is that a frustrating 114 seats still have but one contestant. Two of them aren’t even incumbents, meaning they will affect state policy without being vetted by voters. And I have to think that we’d be better off if many had run instead for the Legislature — and cut down on the number running unopposed. Georgia’s problems are numerous. They aren’t going away. There’s too much stale thinking at the Capitol, on both sides of the aisle. New voices would be welcome.

How he carries himself, inwardly and outwardly first…teeth, height, a VERY good and balanced mixture of brain and that stuff you can’t get in a book. The WORST is a dude that’s too smart for his own good. Can’t understand nothing, EVERYTHING goes over his head cause it wasn’t written down anywhere. He can be as sexy as ever but if he don’t possess that balance, nothing about him is cute and is a total turn off

It’s that whole “too cool for school” attitude that makes single people appear aloof and uninterested

Reading this I thought back to something I read a few nights ago. It says “A man that hath friends must show himself friendly” which made me think of something I heard a few times when I was attempting to start dating after a breakup many years ago. “You have to be approachable if you want men to approach you”. This doesn’t mean be overly flirty and desperate but it means what it means. If you stand there acting uninterested you will be looked right over. And even worse, when you present yourself as doing someone a favor by parting your lips to say hello you will get passed right over.

That’s just what I thought about reading that line.

As for the whole topic itself, a nice smile used to always get my attention.

Now that you mention it I need to go on a date tonight. A grown up no kids in sight kind of date.

I notice the legs and body(in that order),then height…if legs are popping and everything is in proportion(tatas and the lovely rump steak)..the face is not necessarily as important if the personality is good. The face dont get that much cred..

Kimmie, I feel ya on the short dude magnet LOL, my daughters father is probably about an inch taller than me maybe 2 }}}shrug{{{ and this last guy i was talking to may have 3 inches on me but they are the exception. I don’t rule guys out based on height (unless they are miniature) But i will say there is nothing like a man you can look up to in both senses of the phrase.

Personality is the kicker for me. If she’s self-absorbed or just plain mean, then I don’t care how hot she is.

3rd Day of Summer..

When I am out and about mixing, I notice a few things..

1. Teeth-I am a stickler on this no matter what.
2. Her attitude and outward personality. Is she scowling and looking stuck up like she does not want to be here?
3. I look at her friends or the company that she is around. Your friends are a reflection of you.
4. Reception-Is she receptive to me and my conversation, this is a social event so she should have come to socialize right? I also make sure she is paying attention not gazing off and also not being short with me.

I am actually having a debate with a friend who says she enjoys being by herself, coming and going as she please and not answering to any man. Yet, in the same breath she says she wants to be married. I feel you can’t “realistically” get into a relationship if your mind and heart isn’t feeling it….you can’t seek that which you don’t want. You can’t project something you want if you aren’t walking, acting like this is what you want. You want to be alone, you will be alone. If you want to be married, act like and stop being alone!

Her response: But under the right circumstances, you will walk, act and project that if you really want it. You won’t do those things until you encounter someone who brings that out in you.

My response: How the heck are you going to get someone to even notice you? That desire has to manifest itself in you BEFORE meeting that person!

Face, then body if those are to my liking I find out more about the attitude. If you pace your self you can have a beautiful person on the inside and the outside. Some people will say it is not all about looks, the ones that say that have usually had to compromise in the looks department with their mate….or maybe not but looks are a great plus…especially when there is a beautiful body matching the pretty face. If you take your time and not rush in there are plenty of beautiful people in the world. Just hold out and don’t get caught up with an ugly. LOL.

First thing I notice – his overall attractiveness, whether there is *something* about him that appeals to me. Different men attract me for different reasons so, I don’t have an *all-the-time* first thing to notice.

It could be his smile, his eyes, that just from the barbershop fade, his voice, his height, his hands, the compliment that he paid to me, the fact that he held the door for me, what he’s wearing, what he’s driving (not a golddigger statement, I just admire nice cars.), his complexion, where he is, what he’s doing.

It just depends on the situation, my frame of mind and a couple of other variables on what I notice first. The thing is – once an individual has caught my eye, the question becomes whether or not there is enough there to keep me looking and then to peak my interest enough to want to explore a possible connection.

Hey gang!!

I always notice a nice smile and pretty teeth!! I get complimented on my own teeth so much, I am just drawn to the mouth first. You can be fine-as-all-get-out, but if the grill is jacked up, it is such a turn off. (not that mine are perfectly straight, but they are white..lol) I had a guy ask me if my teeth were real once…lol.

After the smile, I take in the whole face, and then the body, followed by his conversation and demeanor. I don’t call anyone ugly, because someone in this world thinks that I am..so I make it a point to not say that about anyone. If a guy is walking ahead of me, of course, I would check out the body 1st!!! I don’t have an issue with height, mostly cause I have never dated anyone shorter than me. With certain heels on, I stand head to head with JT, he hates this when we go out!

Now, if they act a fool during that first encounter, I don’t know them from Adam. I state my discomfort with what was said or done and do my best to extricate myself from the situation. If they keep coming at me, I survey my surroundings and who’s around me and bark back as I’m backing out the door.

PK I walked stn mtn last sat with my buddy f2b and we are walking it again friday morning @ 6am!!!! I am excited about this lifestyle change……trying to eat better and eliminating soda’s and lowering carbs…..I enjoyed walking up the mnt too….I released stress and truly felt better! Of the movies listed, I’ve seen all except Knight and Day. I have a thing against Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the same movie. I don’t care much for either. Cameron Diaz is at least easy on the eyes.

Of the movies that you listed, I liked the A-Team the best.

Prince of Persia was ok, but I wasn’t a big fan of the video game (it is based on a video game). Get him to the greek has its funny parts, but is a bit over the top at times too.

If you’ve liked other Judd Apatow movies (40 year old virgin, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Knocked Up), you’ll like Get him to the Greek. They even show references to Forgetting Sarah Marshall since Russell Brand was in that movie, too.

Although, I will admit that my favorite movie this summer has been Toy Story 3.

Karate Kid was pretty good. Jaden Smith definitely has a promising future as an actor. I already knew the story.

Speaking of remakes, Spielberg planning to do another ET. It isn’t clear if it will be a remake or just another ET. Drew Barrmore will be in it. It will be interesting to see what Spielberg does with the technology that now exists. I saw the old recently on HBO and the effects looked funny, but it was good for the early eighties.

kimmie, I tried to watch it last season but it didn’t hold my interest enough for me to even remember when it was airing. Maybe this time having Vanessa B Calloway as her supporting actress will help.

I think this is really Jada Smith’s first attempts in a starring role. I may be wrong though. IMO opinion she is on okay actress. Vanessa Bell Calloway is a bit stronger than her.

Twilight isn’t on my list. I saw the first two. First in the movies and the second thanks to Netflix. The third will probably be HBO or Starz. It was a teenage chick movie. I am neither a teenager nor a chick. So, it is a no go.
