Men are like taxis?
I not ashamed to admit that I am one of the army of women who is excited about Sex and the City 2 movie. Hey, don’t judge me! My love for that show pre-dates my taking on the fun role of dating blogger. We have the show Sex and the City to thank for my favorite dating analogy: Men are like taxis.
No, I don’t mean men are sometimes really smelly and slightly terrifying in New York. Although that one might apply too. I am referring to the theory that when a man is ready for, or open to, the possibility of a relationship he turns his taxi light on. If you happen to be the girl that hails the taxi while the light is on, you’ve got a possibility of a great and hopefully long ride (no pun intended naughty people!). If you get in a cab with the light off, it doesn’t really matter what you do, it’s just not going to go anywhere.
So basically, this analogy is the basis of every single woman’s dating life. How do you decide what kind of cab ride you’re on. If it were easy to see the light, we would all be talking about whales or golf right now.
Men, if you have a heart you will let us ladies know how to determine her guy’s taxi cab light: on (ready and open?) or dimmed (unsure?) or flashing (undecided)?
Are women like taxis too? I honestly don’t think I have turned my taxi cab light on properly. I am working on it though!

Princessnik – not when it’s just a barber shop buzz cut away….lol Saw a chick at church week before last, that sat next to me. She had a low fad but it looked so good on her round head…you see my head…naw, that ain’t even bout to work over here. She said her friend were telling her not to do it. But you’ll never know till you try. If I did that, i’d be in a wig within the next 5 minutes looking like I belong in the witness protection program

Janet probably got tired of that weave. I saw a lady in my salon getting one a few weeks ago & I don’t see how folks do it.
I’m so glad my SO does not trip about hair. I’ve gone short & sassy & most folks still can’t get over the fact that I’m grown and can do what I want! Plus, when I wore it long all I did was be lazy and end up putting it in a ponytail. This way I look sassy and more professional at the same time.

yup, kimmie. i tried on a very short wig in a store once and i really liked the sophisticated vibe i had in that. any talk of cutting my hair makes my mama’s, daughter’s and s/o’s bottom lip start quivering.

My hair is shoulder length but it is thick so it takes time to get these tresses of mine to lay down. I get tired of it too but I very seldom rock a pony tail though. I usually wrap my hair at night so the only time that it get’s a curling iron or flat iron in it is at my bi-weekly standing hair appt. I’m trying to let my bangs grow back out, but every week i’m struggling with decision to just wack it off again. lol

AmRed – yes, my ex is still married. We have mutual friends so I saw them at a wedding two years ago. I guess they’re 11 years strong now.
Y’all know I love the ponytail, I can’t imagine the maintenance of a short hairstyle. I got it cut to about an inch below my ear about 5 years ago – haven’t cut it since. I needs the ponytail!!!

i indulged in letting my niece (newly licensed) blow/flat iron my hair every week for about a month. it was cool, but i just couldn’t take going days and days without washing it. so i’m back to my daily wash and wear waves.

my hair is relaxed. i just prefer to wear it with leave in conditioner and let it air dry every day. i truly believe that’s why it grows so long and healthy. it’s happy!!
Leggs, i really don’t know anything about that couple, but i must say that an article i read in an old essence about their marriage/divorce issues left me completely unimpressed with her. she had the tone of a total victim.
