Men are like taxis?
I not ashamed to admit that I am one of the army of women who is excited about Sex and the City 2 movie. Hey, don’t judge me! My love for that show pre-dates my taking on the fun role of dating blogger. We have the show Sex and the City to thank for my favorite dating analogy: Men are like taxis.
No, I don’t mean men are sometimes really smelly and slightly terrifying in New York. Although that one might apply too. I am referring to the theory that when a man is ready for, or open to, the possibility of a relationship he turns his taxi light on. If you happen to be the girl that hails the taxi while the light is on, you’ve got a possibility of a great and hopefully long ride (no pun intended naughty people!). If you get in a cab with the light off, it doesn’t really matter what you do, it’s just not going to go anywhere.
So basically, this analogy is the basis of every single woman’s dating life. How do you decide what kind of cab ride you’re on. If it were easy to see the light, we would all be talking about whales or golf right now.
Men, if you have a heart you will let us ladies know how to determine her guy’s taxi cab light: on (ready and open?) or dimmed (unsure?) or flashing (undecided)?
Are women like taxis too? I honestly don’t think I have turned my taxi cab light on properly. I am working on it though!

A man will marry a chic that he has dated for a while and really feels she will make a good wife. Its not necessarily about catching them when the light bulb is on. The light bulb comes On when he realizes he has a good chic and there is no point in him continuing with the chase……. assuming this is a guy who has always believed in marriage.
That’s a pretty good description of a man’s “taxi light”. There’s also a segment of men who wake one morning and decide they want to be married (seemingly moreso to establish posterity than for companionship) so they’ll drive around constantly with their light on. And the women who happen to be within the orbit of where they’re cruising at that time seemed to be likely targets. But it also seems as though the ones who cruise purposely for a wife have less stringent standards as opposed to the ones who just stumble on to “the one” by happenstance.

cruising purposely to me sounds like somebody woke up and felt like thyre running late for the train..they gotta hurry up or else…..they get thirsty and hence can easily stumble.(less stringent i agree)
The ones with time on their hands are just messing and mixing and then in the throes of enjoyment,the One to be chosen may just happen to appear on the horizon.

Hello All!!
taking a breather before i head out to Illy. saw the pic of Janet’s new look. did she cut off all her hair or is she’s just ditching the weave? dunno, but i like it. she resembles michelle obama now with those high cheek bones. i wonder if it might get s/o to OK a drastic cut for me …. but i already know the answer to that one.

My mom just decided to cut her hair short last week. When my sister called to tell me the news I was like, let me call her rhet now. I was like mom, is there something you need to talk to me about…a mid-life crisis perhaps…she just started laughing. But it’s still cute
Guess the older you get, the less you want to deal with. I’m going to have h3ll when I get older cuz slim can’t let this big ole head out from under this hair. Head just isn’t shaped for that. Will be looking like ET in this bytch!

my previous beautician specialized in short hair and it took them chicks longer in the chair, and they had weekly/bi-weekly standing appts. And me with my long hair took way less time part of the reason i changed beauticians i aint have time to be waiting on all them fantasia-esque hair-do’s
