The biggest liars

According to our friends across the pond, men are bigger liars” Men lie the most and feel less guilty about it — but women are the better liars, a British survey has found.” You have to love those  studies! Human behavior and the reason we do the things we do always plays out on the dating scene.

It’s kind of par for the course to either catch someone in a lie or tell some zinger to someone to get out of something, or um into something.  I suppose there are times when we feel justified in lying by omission, misleading people, or outright telling a very tall tale.  It’s still very wrong. Yet, somehow lies lead to more lies.

It’s actually a real issue that a lot of us face and sometimes worry about. How do you know if the person you have met and started dating is not a raging liar?

The CNN article listed the the top male lies and top female lies.  I am curious to know what are some of the craziest lies you’ve ever heard?  I’ve had men get pretty creative with their “enhancement on the truth” stories.  I could totally write a book! I think the biggest liar was the guy who claimed he had a twin brother and tried to date my college room mate and I simultaneously.  Ah, the memories!

I’m no angel though, I once told a guy that I cooked some meals that were actually catered foods.  He was one of those “she must cook” guys that I was trying to impress.  I was busted on the third time, though!

What about you? Who was your biggest liar? What are you guilty of lying about? No judgment here!

To answer my own question, I did not date for a period of time. I still hung out with friends and I had guys trying to talk to me, but I was like a dating recluse. This is going to sound crazy, but I had to learn to trust me again. Trust my judgement, trust my intuition, trust my insight etc. so once I felt ok trusting me I was able to extend that trust in my next dates and/or relationships.

Prof, it ended almost a year to the day we met. He had met and was spending time with my son. We were looking for houses to buy and planning a life together. Come to find out he was doing the same exact thing with another woman. The end came when we all showed up at the same place. The most bizarre thing about it was he knew I was there and came in with her. LCST (lying, cheating, sociopathic trash) actually knew I was there and had lied about an emergency to get me out of the building…turns out, I did not leave fast enough and ran right into them. A huge, loud confrontation ensued and well, here I am. Even after I told her about our relationship, she is actually going to marry LCST. Damn.

Gotta blame it on something,
gotta blame it on something.
Blame it on the rain that was fallin’, fallin’.
Blame it on the stars that shine at night.
Whatever you do, don’t put the blame on you;
blame it on the rain, yeah, yeah.
You can blame it on the rain.
But the rain don’t mind and the rain don’t care.
You’ve gotta blame it on somethin’.
Blame it on the rain that was fallin’, fallin’.
Blame it on the stars that shine at night.

@CC~That is crazy, but I am glad you found out before you invested anymore time or got tied down with owning something with him. I had a similiar situation happen to me years ago and the other lady stayed with the dude as well…the funny thing is he had told her about me. So when I found out about her and kept it moving I guess it was a relief for her because she finally had him to herself. I picked my little heart up and sat on the bench for period of time, and my life really took off in all areas. I feel like leaving that relationship allowed me to grow in all areas. With that said CC you are going to heal and things are going to grow in all directions for you.

Prof, thank you so much! I know my life is much better and things are looking up for me. Neither she or I knew about the other. She obviously does not have the self respect or confidence to kick him to the curb. My heart is good. A little cynical abd jaded, but good nonetheless. And yes, it is a huge blessing that I did not get further invested because I was about to come into a large sum of money…money that was going to be the down payment for our house. Life has a funny way of helping us out every now and then you know?

I don’t believe the poll. If a woman “changes her mind”, is that considered a lie?

If I lie and say those pants don’t make your butt look big (caus it’s the size of your butt that makes it big) is that a lie?

Friday.

As I always say…Men lie, but women are slick; Slcik is an operation. Also if you are slick, you are bound to slide.

I honestly think women really dont lie. What women do is tell Half Truths. Women always will make themselves look in a different light.

The biggest lie I ever heard from a woman was a woman who was trying to play single and had a boyfriend the whole time but still trying to date me….

Men and women both lie, women just believe their own lies better than we as men believe ours. Men lie like we are “selling” a story and seeing if the woman believe it. Women just tell men the lie like it is set in stone and really did happen. :)

Good point.

Also women lie to themsevles to justify things…Oh I was drunk, it didnt count, it was my birthday, or we are in a relationship; in her mind they are.

Thats another thing women lie about…Their interactions with guys. In the guys mind, this is just a Am-Pm situation, in her mind, she thinks they are in a relationship.

A non-lie: My breast are sore and filling extra plump today. Much more than a hand full.

Most recent kinda lie: An ex coworker called me this morning to see if I wouldn’t mind having lunch with her today. I have been promising her that we would get together for lunch soon. I told her that my dad just had open heart surgery and is in the hospital. While that is the truth what I didn’t tell her is he is in Michigan.

Gouda, that dumb move killed it for him. I met him at the store down the street from where I lived. We talked while standing in line and I was kinda feeling him. He was nice looking, had good conversation. He definitely could have gotten it had we got into something serious. But he took too far too soon. He thought it was cute him pulling up beside me when I arrived at my place but to me it was creepy and too much.

LorDemi – I think that’s seriously the next best thing…most movies now are coming out with the 3D option. Maybe you should bring back the way of adult movie theaters…maybe even take it a step further & implement the 4D element. The seats could vibrate and gyrate to the rhythm of what’s going on onscreen…or have different sex machines that you would have to purchase your dil-do of choice to put on the machine from our Toy Concession stand… Sort of like an Adult Amusement Park

1. The number of partners they had.
2. Their status (single, dating, dating 5 guys).
3. What they have going on in other states…(Alot of times theres always a backup ready to go in the game.)

The article is specific to British people. I can almost get my hands around that; I have to deal with people in England almost every day, and they lie to get their way almost constantly, like teenage children with accents that talk way too fast.

I am a bad liar. I don’t play poker well, either. I think the two are related. So, I don’t play poker, and I don’t lie. It’s too much to have to keep up with, anyway.
