Diversify your dating options?
I was hanging out with my fabulous cousin Stephanie recently. She lives here in the city but since we both travel and have crazy work schedules we don’t hang out as much as we’d like to. We were talking about our (only) male cousins who had married white women and how it seemed as if the family accepted them. Stephanie turned to me and said, “Well, you know Grandmother thinks that we both are going to marry white men. She told me that once”
When my cousins married white women it didn’t seem to cause an uproar. For some reason, I don’t expect the same reaction if Stephanie or I decided to marry a white man. I don’t have any proof of this, it’s just a feeling I get. It seems that we aren’t supposed to have the same options as our cousins did.
The Modern Day Match Maker aka Mr. Brunson recently interviewed author Langhorne Folan about her book “Don’t Bring Home a White Boy.” I was impressed by the points Ms. Folan raised here. She basically described the exact challenges and expectations a woman like me could face when we consider exploring our options in dating other races.
As in the video, I also wondered if interracial dating will continue to be so controversial? What kind of challenges will the next generation face if they decided to “diversify their dating” so to speak?
How can women find ways to meet and date men of other races without it feeling so “premeditated” and plotted out?
Ladies, if you have tried online dating, do you widen your selection criteria beyond one particular race?
Guys, do you find it difficult to diversify your dating options? Do you find it easy to meet women with diverse backgrounds who are interested in exploring relationships with you?

@mark ~ you can’t ask someone to say on the other side of the fence forever. I’ve never dated a white man, but I see nothing wrong if someone other than your ethnicity happens to make you happy. Things happen and some relationships end. It’s ok to swim with the dolphins or float with the guppies at any given time.
Just like ice cream. One day you want Butter Pecan and another day you want cookies and cream. To each their own!

Haven’t worked out the fee yet. it has to be written and tested in two hours or less. The programming language is COBOL.

Its a COBOL program to merge two files together into one. I wrote it and tested it yesterday but I need to rewrite it because I changed the process on how I get my data from the tables.

Hey mark, here’s how you solve your interracial dating problem, for good. 85% of the world’s population is non-white, so if every non-white person found a white person and mated with them, then the children would also be non-white. In about to generations there would be no more white people left, thus eliminating interracial dating forever. So, maybe short-term interracial dating is actually the long-term solution to your problem. haha

mark, here is your solution. Divide the United States vertically into different zones for each race and include a zone for “others”. Use big concrete borders to separate them from each other. You can leave your home zone to explore the other zones but you can not ever come back. LOL

But what if the other zone doesn’t want you exploring their zone? Then you have all the zones passing zone immigration reform laws like Arizona. could you be deported back to your zone, or is a zone stuck with you once you let them in? lol

The ex sent me an email that was a very sarcastic conrgrats on my marriage and how blessed she is to be with someone she loves. I responded yes I am blessed to be with my wife and I am also blessed to escaped you without having contracted herpes. Was I to mean? I can not get that email back. LOL She confided in me many years ago post break up, when we tried to have a semblance of a friendship up that she contracted it. I should not have said that, that was over the edge. She took one to many shots in her sarcasm laced email to me. I should have just ignored it all together.

Slimone, we can give the rejects the U.S. Virgin Islands. They need something to be happy about. Only thing attached to it is that there are no planes or boats allowed to leave that island. We do not need them sneaking back in.
