Do you need better bedroom etiquette?
I can think of a couple of things a lot of people don’t feel comfortable telling their partners about their bedroom etiquette. When it comes to being intimate, you would think that no conversation is off limits. The reality is that some people have hang ups about sex and talking about sex with their partner.
What do you do when your partner has made a few wrong moves and you need to let them know? I think many people are oblivious to some things. Maybe you are not showing proper etiquette to your partner and they don’t want to outright tell you about it.
For the purpose of enlightenment (that’s what we do here, right?!), what are ways to improve your “etiquette” in the bedroom? What should you be mindful of when it comes to you and your partner?
According to your good/bad experiences, what should you do/ never do?
Even though it’s an “adult”, try your very best to keep things PG, people. Imagine your seven-year old daughter/son/niece/nephew is reading. Talk in code!

It’s usually not the moves that she makes, it’s the ones she doesn’t that are the issue. If she just flat out doesn’t like something, I have to decide if I really want to live the rest of my life without it. To date, I have always chosen NOT to live the rest of my life without the things that make me happy.
Let’s not forget, not everyone has to match up in the bedroom, and that’s ok.

this should be an interesting read today.:) i have learned that it is best to talk about any bedroom concerns outside of the bedroom. make sure it’s not before or after a session. making it a random conversation when both parties are relaxed and comfortable works out. it doesn’t need to feel like a “gloom and doom” appointment…lol.

Hmmm if its the wrong move..notice is given then and there..You know it never really hurts to ask. And depending on how you ask..you might get what you want. Demanding behavior is grounds to shut down the party, and go to sleep. Never..never..try some new “trick” without proper notice..in other words..don’t off all willy-nilly making stuff up. Just want to school some of the men. Based on my experiences, there are men out there who really do not know this. So listen up. Not all women go to the mountaintop during the act; most women go to the mountaintop before he goes in. (trying to keep it PG). Please be mindful of that and make sure you partner is ready before you start shoving it in. After all it should be a gliding motion.
I have explained this to my gentleman friend over and over. But he gets so excited that he only thinks of himself and is ready to go in after five minutes (I guess assuming that I will get mine later). Come to think of it I don’t think he has ever asked me if I am happy.
Of course, he doesn’t know that he is this close to being cut off completely, and put in the friend zone.

Uh, no it doesn’t. Just because you love someone, and you can love them more than life itself, does not make you automatically know what they like or how to please them. Neither does it make you automatically comfortable to talk about certain issues. Caring for that person and their happiness can make you more accommodating and attentive to what they want and need but just loving them does not make everything flow naturally.
My husband and I have loved and been in love with each other for a long time yet we do talk about these things.
One thing he told me after we passed that stage of just wanting to ravish each at every available moment, he said “if I do anything that you don’t like or want just tell me”. Being told that helped a lot. It opened the door for the necessary communication that we need in order to have and maintain a good, happy and satisfying relations life.
And when you pay attention you can tell by body language and reactions if the person is liking what you are doing.

I said Love makes the bedroom flow natural. I did not say that there would not be speed bumps nor did I say it would be smooth sailing. Love making it natural means that you care enough to be considerate of the others persons needs, likes and dislikes and act accordingly. Whereas lust is more self indulgence even though you are still giving. So IMO, Love makes the bedroom flow natural.

@Dreams – that right there is how I mostly come up with the game plan. It’s sort of like playing sports. You know the jist of the game, might know a few plays, but until you do a scrimmage to sort of see how it all plays out, you don’t really see where the holes in your game is. As you play different teams or the same team, you try to match up your offense/defense to theirs. Now if you are totally clueless to the point of the game then you really need to go back to the basics and watch a few plays on film. LOL!
In addition to that, I am a pretty cool with verbal communication. I love to exchange info with folks so on one of those hour long conversations, just ask the questions you want to know the answers to, as far as what your partner likes. Be like, Mmmm you know the other day when you were kissing me softly behind my ear?…well that really started to get my engine fired up. :mrgeen:

Etiquette? Not applicable…IMO. When I think of etiquette I think of something where there’s a hard line of application. Meaning, telephone manners (”speaking” versus “dis ha”) or table manners (eating with your mouth close versus mouth wide open). I don’t think it is the age thing because I’ve experienced this when I was in college, then married, and now divorced. It is not his stamina; he could go on for a long time if I allowed it. I have to tell him to finish up because I know that I will never ‘get there with him”. Just how I’m made. My friend is 43. He is a great guy….intelligent, fun, good looking, compromising, etc. But he likes what he likes (smile), and he just gets happy to see me. (smile)

Both. People take college football, especially, very, very seriously down here. I’m among them (huge Georgia fan). Plus, you have to remember that pro sports have really only been here for 1 generation, and during most of that time the teams have sucked — so the following for pro sports hasn’t developed as much as in some other cities.

I think so too…expressed today or in the past. In summary (of all past posts that included this same subject), I’m not into roughhousing and poking thangs anywhere, any whichaway. If that’s you and I don’t plan to keep you, I see no need for a notice (hint…discussion). We just aren’t compatible. I assume that works both ways.

1. No scarves to bed*

2. Running your fingers thru it is encouraged
3. Yanking and pulling it is okay (it’s real
4. It can get wet in the shower
5. Remove all hair ties and make sure it flows freely
That’s it.
* – I’ve never lived with a guy, so that’s why I can get past the no scarf to bed rule, for now.

Candles are nice in the bathroom around the tub and on the counter. Turn the lights of and the candlelight reflecting off the mirror gives a nice ambiance. Sometimes I light candles when I just want to have a nice relaxing warm bath and soak away the cares of the day. A little music and a little candle light…very nice.

SlimOne, one time Mason and I were at a hotel and after the relating I was looking for my things after we had gotten out of the shower. I could not find my panties. He was sitting on the foot of the bed flipping thru the tv channels while I was starting to get dressed. I looked every where and could not find them. I picked up his stuff to see if they were underneath and nothing. It was a total mystery. Kinda scary. LOL After a while of looking I just screw it I’ll have to run to house to get another pair before going back to work. While putting his pants on he realized they were in his pocket. LOL
After we had entered the room he had pinned me against the door and removed them during the passionate frenzy. He stuffed them in his pocket. I guess we were so caught up he had forgotten that he did.

Raqi – The time I saw my dad naked was the months before his death and after having his leg amputated. We had to bath him…althooogh he seemed just a tad comfy with that. I had to SERIOUSLY pray to do that. My sister did it most days though. Lord forgive me, but most days I’d try to beat her there. Whoever go there first started breakfast for him and moms and the last did the bathing. I would be sooo disappointed if I slept last and got there last…I hope I don’t have to pay for feeling like that when I’m in need of help.

I’ve known people that have picked up Roadkill for years.
Once when I was a kid, my aunt (grandmother’s sister) stopped her car and picked up a raccoon. She cooked that joker. :shocked:
I never ate anymore of her food again. Of course, I was considered uppity…
Also, my uncle hit two cows that got onto the road. The Georgia State Partol helped him take the cows back to my uncle’s house, which was roughly 1/4 a mile from the accident. This was in Coweta County, not far from Newnan. So, it was far from South Georgia.

I have a piece of beef brisket that has been smoking on the smoker since 7am this morning. Got about another 2-1/2 to 3 hours to go. Tonight we are having chopped brisket topped with fresh coleslaw on a nice soft bun. Some ice tea and baked beans.

My maternal grandparents had a farm. I remember spending weeks during the summer with them. It sucked monkey bawls. I had to get up before the darn rooster and get eggs from the hens. I fed the chickens, hogs, and cows. They didn’t have enough money to buy a tractor, and really had a mule. He had to be fed.
I remember picking blackberries, which I actually liked because I ate more than I put in the basket. I remember spending many a afternoon shelling field peas, occasionally finding a worm or two.
They had a well. So, getting water was even work. However, I have not have any purer or colder water than well water since they passed. That water was good and clean.
Working for your own food is an experience.
I saw deer quite often. I may or may not have seen my grandpa kill a deer out of season because they were digging up his sweet potatoes.

The only hunting that I did was rabbit. My maternal grandparents had a lot of land. I didn’t hunt deer, but many folks used to pay my grandpa to hunt on his land. I hunted rabbit.
However, the only place that I hunt rabbit at that point in my life is the DeKalb Farmers Market.

I spent each summer with my grandparents in Houston til I was 14. We’s spend the summer learning gymnastics, swimming and music. We also go to AstroWorld.
One summer they rented an RV and took us fishing. It was off a pier.

That was my world too, but I gotta admit I liked visiting relatives in the south. I used to go fishing with my family in new orleans. We would get up around 4am and take the boat to the lake to go fishing. we’d catch maybe 70 fish. Take them back to my aunt and we’d help her scale ‘em, then she would filet them and fry ‘em up. There’s NOTHING like fish fresh out the water.

I dealt with those greens too. They grew kale, turnips, cabbage, and collards. Grandpa also grew sweet potatoes, silver queen corn, cucumbers, yellow squash.
They had a space in State Farmers Market in Forest Park. I helped him sell until I was about 11 years old.

We just drop the traps in the morning and there are usually some in the traps by evening. However, it does change according to the tide sometimes.
There is nothing like walking in the backyard, going to the dock, and pulling your traps to find it full of blue crab. One time we even found a flounder in the trap with the crabs.

You probably don’t have to go that far. My grandparent house was near Pine Mountain (ie Callaway Garden). That is closer to Alabama than South Georgia.
You could probably go to the Farmer’s Market in Forest Park (near the airport) and they could point you in the right direction. I haven’t been there in years, though. You might just find something that you like there.

@Melo ~ there’s a little farmer’s market on the corner of Bouldercrest and River Road. The greens they sell are huge, not very dirty and tender. Sometimes you see them parked at liquor stores during the holiday season making a killing!

When I lived in Doraville, there was a guy that would sell cantaloupe. His were very good and way cheaper than any store around. You just need to know a little espanol, but then again, you really just needed money. He’d figure it out.

I have no idea. I don’t own any land there. My parents inherited the land. Nearly 100 acres!! I don’t know how my grandparents got that much land, but they had it.
I have some cousins that live down on some of the land now. I guess when my parents go to the upper room, then it will be my responsibility. So far everyone keeps the taxes paid, and a few cousins live there. Most of it is still empty though.

PoppaGrande – I use to luuuv Sixteen Candles. It was on a couple of weeks back and my 15 year old was glued…first time seeing…quite decent compared to all the reality trash and mess that comes on…for teens nowadays.
