Misadventures in New Orleans
Hello everyone! I’m “blogging on location” from the wonderful city of New Orleans. I’ve been here since Saturday to attend the weekend bachelorette activities of a fabulous bride-to-be. We descended upon the Big Easy during the New Orleans Jazz Festival. It’s been great friends, food, and the best music in the world!
As I was trekking through Hartsfield-Jackson, a very handsome guy was noticing me. I noticed him noticing me and then I noticed him right back. He ended up escorting me all the way to my gate (gentleman?) and then he asked me to take his number down. I joked that I didn’t want to risk forgetting that I met him since I was headed to a weekend of debauchery. He took mine and minutes later, he sends a text giving me his phone number.
Alright so, when men ask women to do the calling, is this a new twist to even the playing field of dating? Am I expected to call him when I get back? I actually don’t mind calling but I found it strange that he was so adamant about me calling him. I am so not a rules kind of girl, I just do what feels right. In this situation, the right thing to do is call him if he crosses my mind. If I don’t hear from him, I will make a phone call, and then wait. *sigh* Dating gets complicated for no good reason sometimes.
Guys, what do you prefer with number swap and first contact? When you are interested, does it matter who does the calling and when? Are women offended when you ask them to call you instead of vice versa?
Should I let the guy lead the contact and interest or do I put in effort and wait for reciprocation? What works best for you?

Just saw Dwight Eubanks upstairs in the Atrium food court. He actually looks better (and younger) in person than he does on television. He wasn’t wearing all that damn makeup.

@DK you have to forgive me today I am still on the beach with sand between my toes and the waves roaring behing me, or better yet I am walking towards the beach with a nice fruity drink in my hand that is strong on the spirits. In other words I left my brain at the beach this weekend.

smetimes,some men will throw that out just to test the recepient. U know,there are diff types of women.
Some will giggle at it,and the meaning is,to me: ok to proceed with a lil caution….yet others will cut u off quick….. so men will calibrate their convo based on the vibe they get.
A lot of times a relationship with a woman is defined by how u got her.If i hit her on the first or 2nd date,then sex is gon be the number#1 thang defining that relationship coz it didnt take much to get it.If she starts trying to put roadblocks after that hit,then i may evaluate if i wanna continue that relationship or not but the thang is,she showed me her cards so it seems,there aint much more for me to see..there was no mystery there.

Here are some that will get her dismissed…
1. The domineering female…We just met but she automatically wants to connect the dots in your life, corner you into asking her out and doing stuff, basically wanting to drive the car and be in the passenger seat at the same time. She wants to know about your ex’s, the contact you have with them now, and wants to immediately establish her presence in your life.
2. The I already have the job type…We just met and she is talking like she is the starter! She is planning your life, giving suggestions on what you need and dont, how you should dress, being critical of every realm of your life. Has advice for everything.
3. The woman who appears uninterested but then suddenly really likes you and it turns border line crazy…First she was nonchalant, now she is texting, calling like crazy, asking questions, popping up saying I am in your neighborhood, Im coming over! YIKES! lol
