Date Jesus

Atlanta’s own Chilli (of TLC fame) is the focus of a new dating reality show on VH1.  This is the same network that brought such shows as Tough Love, Rock of Love, and now What Chilli Wants.  Well, according to the trailer, what she wants is too much, which is why she has had problems finding the one.

I’m sure in some bizarro world of reality television, Chilli Photo: Gossip on This could actually have a problem with a dating relationship.  I’m curious enough to watch just to see if she struggled with some of the same hangups many of us had and may still have.  Finding random and nonsensical reasons not to give someone a shot.

Watching a few scenes from the show made me laugh out loud, especially when Chilli’s friend, music producer,  Missy Elliot said she should just “Date Jesus”.  Clearly she was implying that no person walking the earth could meet any criteria that is totally unrealistic.

However, for argument’s sake, if anyone could pull off having a firm grip on a dating checklist, why couldn’t she? The woman is beautiful, famous, and probably has a pretty sweet personality.  Why shouldn’t she have her bar set pretty high?

Would someone that was not in the limelight actually handle dating her with finesse and class?

I’m just wondering, is it about settling for someone you don’t want or dating Jesus? Isn’t there another door or A new option that we don’t talk about: staying unmarried?

Do you think that every single/uncoupled person who has not met the one should reconsider all of their standards? Is  waiting for  as long as it takes to find the one a selfish and unrealistic decision?

No, not all of them. If you don’t have some standards you could end up with a real problem. However, i think its healthy to re-asses some things to determine what your real deal-breakers are, what is a need vs a want.

HAPPY THUGGIN THURSDAY!

I think Missy’s comment was right on point…no one is perfect and if you have a long football field length checklist, then you might as well hang up dating altogether. And think about it, even if a miracle happened and you met someone with everything on your list, does that guarantee that it’s going to work out? I think not.

This is a shot in the dark. We really can’t assume this at all.

Do you think that every single/uncoupled person who has not met the one should reconsider all of their standards?
We should always be reevaluating our standards, whether we’ve met the one or not. It’s just a part of growing. There is a balancing act though. Do you stick to your “standards” at any cost, do you find a mate at any cost, or is there some optimal combination that would bring you happiness. Sometimes we think we know exactly what we want until we get it.

Morning All,

All I know is that even Jesus would have some MisAdventures round these parts.
First of all, He’ll have to do something bout them Sandals. We all know one of the first things most Women look at is the shoes.
Secondly, He will definitely have to get a fresh cut. That scraggly wooly hair just aint gon work.
Thirdly, He might get a few points with the Wine trick but he’ll have to switch it up every now and then. We know how most Women just love them some Margaritas.
Last but not least, This dude walks everywhere and we all know that aint gon cut it in the A.

ditto Nik’s post. be aware not only of what you seek but also what you offer. as you change and grow, so also what you want in a mate will change. i see no reason to lower your standards or expectations just to widen the pool of potentials.

On Topic: What I’ve seen is that alot of times people mix up standards with preferences. For me as time went by, not that I was actively looking for the One I found someone that truly made me happy. As I look back she didnt fit into my stated preferences. I do believe if I was looking for the One I probably would not have even given her the time the One.
Be back later to chop it up with you folks.

Morning All,
Happy Friday Eve..Hmm..I don’t think the whole not getting married is a new option..but more of a default option. Granted marriage is not for everyone, but I think some folks(myself included) look at the prospect of forever single as a default to actually admitting that maybe,,just maybe we are our own worse enemy and problem when it comes to dating.
I don’t think a person has to reconsider all their standards..but you do have to be realistic in our thinking. I mean there is no perfect man or woman..there is someone or several someone’s who may be just RIGHT for you..but certainly not perfect. I mean even if you meet said man or woman of your dreams that person will come with flaws and there will be things that you will have to compromise on in order to make it work.

First, for the record, the gal in the drive thru at McDonalds here in Whitehaven England has not grown any new teeth since my last report several weeks ago.

Re the topic…

Selfish…nahhh, you may be robbing yourself, but selfish to others, no way. I can’t speak for others, but if I am not what a woman is looking for, or she is not what I am looking for, it cannot and will not work in the long run any way. As a wise woman told me a long time ago, “if it is not right for ONE, it is not right for EITHER”. Hurt when she said it, but she was right.

Unrealistic…now that is something different. If you look like you’ve been beaten with an ugly stick, and are bigger around than you are tall, chances are you are going to have a hard time attracting a dude who looks like he just walked off a page from “Esquire” magazine. Hot guys look for hot girls and vice versa. Regarding attracting someone with money, success, etc., that is a tough call. How many of the bimbo’s on Tiger’s cell phone got anything other than a “ride”? I’m guessing that a bunch of them were not “in love” but were attracted to all he could offer…which made it easy for him to crook his finger and say, “give me your best shot”.

My point is that one has the right to stay unattached as long as they want…but remember that it ultimately takes two and you have to meet each other’s expectations, not just your own.

Brings up an intersting question for the ladies though. Consider everything you imagine about Jesus (character, personality, disposition, wit, intellect, idealogies, etc). @Willie D — great comment on the difference between standards and preferences.

Never lower your standards that you have embraced; especially if you have done so after careful thought. If you review them and find that they are “unreasonable” or perhaps “unrealistic” YOU and only you may choose to re-evaluate and make some adjustments.

Preferences of course are flexible and don’t fall into the deal breaker category.

Nothing like waiting for what you want and being blessed with that gift of a woman when the time is right.

Good mornting Gang!

I heard about Chili’s list. I think that’s just for tv. But I do think she would probably be better off dating a secure guy that is not in show business, unless it’s a purely “behind the scenes” role.

As for all this standards/preferences stuff, the media loves to give sisters mixed messages on this. You know, black-women-who-can’t-find-a-decent-man are the flavor of the year right now. Either our standards are too high or not high enough/non-existent. How about we all use some good old-fashioned, common sense(horse sense as my mom used to say!)? You should KNOW when your list is totally unrealistic, given the pickings you’re coming across. So you should KNOW when to tweak that list a little to something more managagable. You also should KNOW when you’ve just totally reached into the gutter to have a man just so you can say you have a man. If you really want to stick with unrealistic expectations, just be prepared for the likely consequences! It may take you a little longer to find Mr. Right, if ever. But you have that right. Your life is yours. The only thing I would call selfish is if you don’t choose wisely and you have kids. Don’t expose your children to just anybody!

This is funny, because I was reading an article last night where this lady 5′10 met a “guy” 5′5 and the “guy” that was born
female–>transgender is now the “one” the author said she never saw it coming and how she loves her man.

As I ponder for a moment I wonder how many of us including myself overlook good people, because they are not a certain height, or their BMI is not what we are looking for. Maybe “the one” was wearing those busted Nikes and we always want Stacy Adams. Or we judged them on what they were driving instead of what was driving them. Just maybe we were concerned about what was on their head instead of what is in their head.

I think you should reevaluate your standards occasionally, especially when you’re not finding what you’re looking for. But that should be natural because we do evolve as individuals. My standards at age 18 evolved and were not the same at age 30. Waiting is a personal choice but be aware of the pros/cons of balancing the reevaluation of standards and maintaining the inflexibility of them. Oftentimes we’ll look all over the world when the first place we should look is at ourselves when we need to reassess our standards, and reevaluating them doesn’t mean necessarily lowering them.

If Chilli is trying to date Jesus, she might end up chasing ‘Waterfalls’ because she won’t find ‘No Scrubs’ she thinks is worthy of her ‘Red Light Special’.

Interesting post. I met a lady on line recently who put her occupation as “lion tamer” and during her spare time she “herded ducks”. Last night she “embarrassingly” admitted that she taught college students to be engineers and scientists…and put “ZZZZZZZZZ” after it and said wasn’t lion tamer more interesting. What she did not know is that I am attracted to educated, intelligent women and especially ones with a unique sense of humor…and she was apologizing for it. She was apologizing for doing something that she thought was unexciting, while that would have been something that would have actually attracted me.

I would image a shifting/tweaking of the list naturally happens as we get older, grow and evolve. I don’t think anybody should remove or deplete the things you desire because it’s what you want. However, what we held as chart toppers and uber to attain at the tender age of 20 or so, would naturally shift over time since experience teaches us what priority and how to prioritize. Heck who didn’t use being fine as a measuring tool? Superficial won’t hold under the pressure or makings of a real relationship and vice versa….vice versa being those things that we may not have honed in on at such a young age, we come to know those qualities are needed to sustain and maintain endurance, love, life, lessons, etc.

@Melo I have seen women flock behind the mind with a BMW 745 because of the car, and long story short there was a Pars Cars decal on it so we already know there maybe credit issues there. These things happen.

Though I’ve seen it own TV, I’ve never met a person who has expressed rigid standards (a list of what they require in a mate). I think many people don’t have a rigid list b/c we usually remain in circles that are comfortable to us. Your “being” attracts/detracts on its own, which marks off a lot from even an imaginary list, so you end up choosing based on preference.

On the other hand, some map out a plan to be in other circles and make it happen. It’s still not a rigid standard in that you don’t completely get everything you want…it’s just a way to be “comfortable” in another circle.

Especially when it comes to wealthy people and/or celebrities, I am always curious about how people met. Who ended up in whose circle?

S/he just happened to be back stage…happened to know my friend (who happened to introduce us)…happened to work in my industry…happened to need my professional services…happened to always be a shoulder to cry on…happened to always be in my line of vision.

Melo – my preferences have more to do with physical descriptions. For instance:
6′2″ or taller
Light skin (Loves me a light skin man)
Physically fit – (read thin)

The dude is *none* of that.
He’s 5′11″ to my 5′10″
Caramel Brown
A bit chunky

But my standards of how I want to be treated and loved, his personality, his beliefs (and I could go on), he fits all of those to a tee.

kimmie

And I know it’s politically correct to say that you shouldn’t choose or count out a person based on the superficial such as looks. But lets be real now. While it is shallow to be totally hung up on looks, at the same time I don’t think you should settle for someone you just are totally not attracted to either. That only create problems down the line. Yeah, maybe they could lose weight, but do you really see them losing 100 pounds if they are not already motivated to do it now? Like what you see coming out of the gate, don’t try to mold into what you really want.

Good Morning

Standards can alway use some adjustments and then how many of us actually have our “must have” list in our pockets when we are out and about on the dating scene. Life is change and it is constant so shall we have to be as well. Let things flow and trust yourself. There is no perfection in a mate and none in us so have fun and trust your instincts. Being confident in yourself and true to your soul will guide you to having the strength to choose what you think is best for you and the courage to remove the people that are not.

Cute pic…Any dude would do alrihgt as long as he remembers that at the end of the day, she’s just a woman and she reminds herself that he’s only human. Which, given Missy’s assessment, may slip her mind from time to time. He has to find her to be worth the effort and she’ll need to be open to the possibilities. Overall, I don’t see why she wouldn’t encounter the same ol’ obstacles as everyone else, if not moreso. Folks who have a higher visibility probably feel like they have to be more cautious.

I think everyone should re-evaluate whether it’ll really take someone meeting a million “wants” to actually supply their actual needs. When it comes to single/uncoupled people totally revamping standards, this is another thing entirely and I don’t recommend that. It’s often a patience thing. What I’ve found many times is that we’ve not been selecting by our standards in the first place, and that’s why we’re still unfulfilled. I’ve compromised what I wanted and/or not necessarily communicated what those things were. And that’s no one’s fault but my own.

The thing about us is that we really want to understand and quantify stuff that at the end of the day doesn’t matter. Attraction does not always make sense. Someone’s charisma and energy will have you feeling an inner pull that you can’t necessarily explain, but we’re so stuck on not knowing why we’re attracted to this person, that we don’t focus on the facts. Dig – Some people have a magnetism about them. You obviously have that, even though you said at the time you were not about much. They had to get to know you to find out that about you though. In the meantime, those other guys deep down were probably not about shyt either, but they didn’t have the magnitism that you have to attract women. Some folks just got it and some don’t. I can’t explain it, but don’t put all the blame on the women. Some folks might be nice, but have no personality, no confidence, they have it written all over their faces and women can sense it. I have to be honest & say the pickings are kinda slim out here. With all the issues facing the AA community, don’t you think at least some of that might have affected the marriage pool? Even Baisden said it on his show. He was saying the same things you are saying, but he had to admit that if he wanted to introduce his sister to someone, he couldn’t think of even one guy. I’m not saying women are off the hook either, but it’s not easy.

Woods would have had to approve the ad. People are polite at Augusta because of that environment: Augusta won’t tolerate discord, if people act up, it’ll be the last time they’re allowed in. Same for the press, if they make negative PR and controversy, it’ll be their last Masters. It’s the same even for people that behave themselves. Some 1080p TVs don’t do that great a job at upconverting resolution. In store displays, the TV that’s being pushed the most will often be connected to a great connection while others of higher spec have a lesser connection. TV settings are manipulated to make the ones they want to sell the most look the best. Most often, the ones they want to sell the most are simply the ones they have the most stock of.

In choosing a TV, regardless of type, consult reviews at CNET, Consumer Reports, and others. If lighting in the room is a bit bright, or if you want to use it as a PC monitor in any way, get LCD. Otherwise, get plasma, they’re still the best. If plasma, get either Panasonic or Samsung, the screens are made by the same manufacturer and are the best. LED is nothing but side-lit LCD at an extreme cost premium, I’d recommend against it.

Carlito

April 8th, 2010
12:12 pm

You don’t “need” an LED although they are nice, I do not trust the technology fully yet it is still kind of new. If the room is dark without a ton of glare on the screen go with Plasma. Basically if the room has a bunch of light or the TV is going to be facing a bright window go with an LCD anything else go with a Plasma. My largest TV is a 63 inch Plasma it is in my ManCave because I keep the lights low in there. In the bedrooms I have LCD because there is a lot of daytime light. I have a 50 Plasma in my LivingRoom but I had to move it to the other side because it was facing the window. Also the frame of the television will produce glare sometimes as well in well lit areas. If it is not bright and shiny go plasma. Also if you play alot of video games do not leave them on pause for over five minutes on a plasma. 1080p and 720p are subjective. Just depends on the brand. You can start telling the difference once you get above 50 inches. For a dvd play buy a PS3 (the new one) it plays blue ray and it upconverts everything to 1080p or buy the sony upconverting DVD player it is only around $79 at Best Buy and it does not play blue ray well but it upconverts like no other. make sure you have HDMI jacks on your new TV and DVD player or it is all useless. A nice big Plasma that is leaps and bound great is the Panasonic Viera 50′ 720. Or darn near any Samsung(they set the standard) Do not get all caught up in LG, Sony and etc. Oh yeah the best buy store brand is a great bang for the buck as well. Stay away from the all in one Flat Screens with the DVD player etc already in the unit.

If anyone has any black in them do black people consider them black? Like Tiger?
During slavery, sharecropping, and Jim Crow eras most southern states had laws on the books to “define” the extent to which someone was black. Some states had:

“One Thirty-second Law”: If either of your great, great, great grandparents was black, then you were legally black

“One Sixteenth Law”: If either of your great, great grandparents was black, then you were legally black

“One Drop Law”: If a black person could be found anywhere in your family tree (one drop of black blood), then you were legally black

All southern states and some midwestern states eventually adopted the One Drop Rule. Georgia was a One Drop Law state. This was an attempt to maintain the “purity” of whites. Although no longer law, this classification of “blackness” still exists.

I grew up in Chipley, Florida. In the heart of the Pandhandle. Just south of L.A. (Lower Alabama) West of Tallahassee. North of Panama City. East of Pensacola. Smack dab in the middle of God’s country.

And when I say I was country – I do mean with a capital K. (And still am. I’ve just learned to not be ashamed of it.)

And my whole early life long – I thought white people ruled the world and had all the good sht and only let black people have some of it *sometimes*.

Exposure to the rest of the world was an amazing and beautiful and wondrous thing that I still do not take for granted.

But still, Carlito, even in middle Florida, there are pockets of Small Town America that still have not been introduced to diversity. I was just in Tavares last month. And although it is just 45 minutes from Orlando, I could have sworn I was traveling the back-back barely paved roads of the Panhandle.

Keeping in mind that it has been 20 years since I was in high school, in my whole school, there were 5 hispanic kids from two families and one was an exchange student from Mexico in a high school with about 500 kids in it.

The next year we had a Japanese exchange student. And with the exception of the two classmates that I had who were half Chinese, she was the first Asian person that I had ever met personally.

We had one Indian family with three kids.

Afternoon All,
Date Jesus- I was like WHAT!!!! When I saw the title. I agree with most that we are all evolving and changing daily, as such, our standards and should evolve likewise. I don’t believe your standards should change that much, if they are realistic from jump street, and they closely match what you bring to the table in a relationship.

I have to be honest, my standards were simple when I met JT, fresh off a divorce, I knew I couldn’t go into a relationship asking him to be “all that”, when I wasn’t. I didn’t go looking for a “specific man”, but I found one who happened to not be looking either.

@ Sexycool—Your sentiments for “The Dude” are similar to mine. JT wasn’t dark and tall, but he is on the most loving and giving people. I have ever met. Sometimes, too giving. We didn’t seek out each other, we just allowed the commonalities of our lives allow our paths to cross, we saw that we had a lot in common and there was instant attraction upon our first face-to-face meeting.

Also SexyC- I read your comment about Trey Songz and I saw a pic of him yesterday all oiled down with boxers on…someone commented and said “he looked like a greased-up Cornish hen with that lil chest”. I LMBO at that one. Someone else wrote “ Cute, but he had crabs!! Eeww. “ He’s a lil cutie, but I almost feel like a perv for thinking anymore of him. I guess because of his age.

Some areas are so over populated with elephants and lions so much that villagers play catch and mouse with them, and get killed by lions and elephants esp in dry season when they are looking for food and water.
Most Big game(lions, buffalo, elephant, leopard) tho is found in game parks

Samsung 50″ PN50B850 sold for around $1299 Super Bowl Week, then went up a few hundred bucks. Panasonic P50G10 is a good alternative for around $1200, not as thin, not the same Internet capabilities; G15 will go a bit more.

LOL Slim. Yeah. I don’t get the screaming birthers. I know everyone handles pain differently though.

No screaming here. Just some winces of pain. Mason said while I asleep at the hospital while being monitored he could hear me moan and grunt in my sleep. When the contractions got so bad that they woke me up I heard say “here comes another”. He saw it on the monitor seconds before I felt it.

Tiger is 1 under after 4 holes…pretty good, considering the people ahead of him are finished or on the last few holes.

but to me it’s more refreshing to date a man with a daughter
We treat our daughters like princesses, so similar treatment will apply to the woman who we feel is worth it.

As far as a grown woman competing with a man’s daughter, that is a sick concept, but I don’t doubt it happens with a sick few.
Maybe more than a few are sick. lol I know women don’t like to be “second”, and some feel they are playing second when a daughter is in the picture. Sick, I agree, but they’re out there.

MELO You are so way off base on this one. (And yeah, women can be on the pill, but that just wards off pregnancy.) I’d venture to say most women would prefer to be out of their mind with passion when frolicking. Yet even in the throes of passion, most have an automatic sensor that will prompt her to question where’s that lil foil packet if there’s no reach over or she hasn’t spied them at a certain point. Plus, as a man, you just ain’t privy to the zillions of sexually frustrated “after all that, the fool had the nerve not to have any condoms” convos are had over Mimosas & glasses of Riesling every weekend. ;) Many would rather be left in angst than with some other evidence of the encounter. That’s why sometimes a girl’s gotta just grab a box on the go…just in case…

I am not a parent, but children are a beautiful thing, and I will not date a guy that hides, denies and lies about his own flesh and blood.

I dated a guy that hid the fact that he had a daughter for a year. In fact, I found out thru a cousin that assumed I knew. The child was 4, so conceived before we started dating. I was furious that he didn’t tell me. He said I didn’t ask! I met him at my cousin’s wedding – my cousin married his sister. We had a family connection and I thought all was out in the open. Not so. He said the mom found out she was preggers after they broke up & she showed up on his doorstep with her when she was 2. He said he just paid child support, but had nothing to do with the child. I told him I would expect a 37 year old man to be upfront with me, regardless of the situation. I should not have had to ask. I did not look at him the same since.

The case of that girl Shaniya Davis in North Carolina. She used to stay with her pops, and he decided to let moms have a shot at raising her. They interviewed him after they found the little girl’s body, and all dude could do while crying was say, “I should have never let her go back there.” He’ll be saying that the rest of his life. Yes, the spouse comes first, period.

A woman who puts her children ahead of her husband either has a husband who isn’t living up to his end, or has a husband that she doesn’t appreciate, and who’s authority she undermines. That hurts her kids in the long run, as they learn to ignore and circumvent authority.

A man who puts his children ahead of his wife, whether or not she’s the children’s mother, offers her dishonor and disrespect for her role as the nurturing one, and teaches his children that they needn’t respect another for their rightful position.

In both cases, the children gain a false sense of entitlement that they carry with them into adulthood.

A good friend of mine father was like that…he sent her mom a check every month never late, but he never cared. When she turned 18 he asked if she would have dinner with him…she was so excited feeling all grown up and stuff. Right there at the dinner table he told her that she was 18 now and his responsibility was over and the checks would end. He also told her he would not be helping with college or any spending money. The dinner was to make sure she understood…she was heartbroken about that forever….they still do not have a relationship and that was almost 20 years ago.

I’d rather play golf myself than waste time watching it on TV. I’d rather play a game of slow-pitch softball or pick-up basketball than watch MLB or NBA — caveat, sometimes going to the ballpark for a baseball game, relaxing with a beer and occasionally doing the wave is a kick.

I’m just not a spectator. Tiger’s being a pouty boy about his mediocre shots, though. I wouldn’t expect the fist-pumping and acting out on good shots, and I don’t expect the cursing and throwing fits at bad shots, as per his reputation of the past; pouting on bad and tipping his hat on good is about what I figure he’d do.

@Carlitto good point. I’ve met some that surpised the you know what out of me.

@ Beautiful one has to define for themselves what actions make one a “Closet freak”. My ex father in law sexually abused my ex-wife when she was a teen…and ruined her sexuality for life. As far as I know to his death bed never saw what he did as wrong. People don’t often see clearly when looking in the mirror…and for the record, it is a good thing the ba%tard never walked between me and the cliff edge. I’d like to see if he could fly.

If you don’t put your spouse before your children, you’ve either got the wrong mate, or you’ve got it seriously twisted.

My fiance’ puts me first. Granted his kids are teenagers. The thing is, him putting me first will never result in his kids getting neglected. I’m the one that makes sure he does all he can to show the girls I’m not taking their Dad from them. One day his son was nutting up (one day? seems like every day) and he told his son that he was NOT going to come between us. At first I felt bad for the Teen, but after his repeated nutting up, not so much.

Plus, as I said Melo, knowing what I know now, he was probably lying about how the whole situation went down. He had surgery on his leg & lied to me about when he had it. I didn’t here from him for a few days & he had snuck off & had the surgery. Ran into his mom & she told me. The daughter & mother could have been up at the hospital for all I know! He’s a sh**head!

Mother and Father are roles, not just biological function. If in a blended family and the parents don’t allow each other the roles, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. When it happens in a family where they’re the biological parents of the children, it’s just a serious dysfunction. The ones who suffer from the selfish stubbornness that causes such behavior are the kids.

A teenager trying to come between you and your fiance is a case in point, Tazzee. He’d like to reinforce the power he holds over his father, that you don’t hold; he asserts that he is in a position superior to yours in that regard. It’s just bad for the teen, if allowed to persist — he learns to become a big fat jerk! Kudos to your fiance for shutting that down.

@ abc I agree to an extent with your premise. I think the danger lies when either the new SO or the children are not mature enough to compromise…and as a man, it is your responsibility to draw the lines both with the kids AND the new SO. Cuz I’m thinkin’ a chick gettin her grown woman all ain’t tryna be pouty and competing with a child. czBrat, almost all men experience that with the birth of their first child. They don’t just come down a notch or two in their wife’s priorities, they fall off the list altogether. I find that many times, a mother that is dissatisfied with her husband’s parental and spousal performance has helped to cause the condition herself by downgrading his importance of her own accord.

i feel ya, abc. and i’ve often felt badly for the ex because i know parenthood changed our relationship. fact is, he was never parent material and has admitted as much. he felt threatened by anything that meant a change to his lifestyle. of the many kids, ex’s and baby mama’s he has accumulated over the past 20 years, he puts none before himself. all i can say is i have no regret for putting our kids first. someone had to look out for their best interest. i may have risked the marriage in the process, but i’m perfectly ok with that.

Yeah Randy, been there, done that, got the t-shirt — we must have gone t-shirt shopping in different stores together. It isn’t my intention to imply that my children don’t have any boundaries, but know that I won’t take any decision lightly when it involves them. Someone on the blog posted not too long ago about a wife not allowing her the step kids in the home. That’s a no-go, don’t even have to ponder that one. @ Carlitto re: “Can’t show real emotions to real people but can to an animal” This is really close actually. To this day, she, and her whole family for that matter, display a facade and if they have real feelings, can’t express them. I’m the opposite…I can’t keep my mouth shut when it comes to feelings. Strange though, I can shut off all feelings during a crisis, or certain things military. Don’t understand that.
