Date Jesus

Atlanta’s own Chilli (of TLC fame) is the focus of a new dating reality show on VH1.  This is the same network that brought such shows as Tough Love, Rock of Love, and now What Chilli Wants.  Well, according to the trailer, what she wants is too much, which is why she has had problems finding the one.

I’m sure in some bizarro world of reality television, Chilli Photo: Gossip on This could actually have a problem with a dating relationship.  I’m curious enough to watch just to see if she struggled with some of the same hangups many of us had and may still have.  Finding random and nonsensical reasons not to give someone a shot.

Watching a few scenes from the show made me laugh out loud, especially when Chilli’s friend, music producer,  Missy Elliot said she should just “Date Jesus”.  Clearly she was implying that no person walking the earth could meet any criteria that is totally unrealistic.

However, for argument’s sake, if anyone could pull off having a firm grip on a dating checklist, why couldn’t she? The woman is beautiful, famous, and probably has a pretty sweet personality.  Why shouldn’t she have her bar set pretty high?

Would someone that was not in the limelight actually handle dating her with finesse and class?

I’m just wondering, is it about settling for someone you don’t want or dating Jesus? Isn’t there another door or A new option that we don’t talk about: staying unmarried?

Do you think that every single/uncoupled person who has not met the one should reconsider all of their standards? Is  waiting for  as long as it takes to find the one a selfish and unrealistic decision?

Carlito – Payne & the rest of the golf world can whine all they want, but they know Tiger put them on the map! Golf has NEVER gotten as much attention till Tiger came on the scene. All this attention about his philandering is making ratings go thru the ROOF! All those old swiss men in plaid pants could never create the excitement that Tiger does just by showing up. And then he comes thru and beats everyone to shreads on a BAD day, just for fun! Please, Payne can go sit down!

CZBRAT Plenty would say they want it and then resent Him later. Guess that’s where my love affair with reality comes into play. I know ME enough to know that it wouldn’t be worth the trade off. I always tell folks ya know what ya know, so ya can’t be mad at anyone else.

kimmie, I agree with you. On the Golf Channel and ESPN they all were saying, Tiger could probably start his own Golf League and it would kill the PGA just because he is Tiger and everyone would want to be a part of it. Hate to say it but when you are the best and you have the former greats(Mickelson) supporting you or not badgering you. It has to be sweet.

Willie…you are going to hell on the express jet for dissin’ Jesus!

Melo…stop frolicking behind me!

On topic: I would rather be alone that settle! Now I am the one that loves a tall man. I have relaxed that standard. But he has to be really hot to make me see past that! But I have to be attracted to the guy in order to let anything really happen. I tried…I even gave a dude who looks like he chugs 6 packs..vs anything remotely close to a 6 pack abs…and I was so turned off ICK!

But I have come to realize I am much happier single. No drama, no expectations…nobody in my space….no stress or demand on MY time! I have guy friends that I hang out with occassionally. But that is as far as it guys. It is NOT impossible to be Happily Single.!

I think you have standards, that’s a good thing. Too often, people marry or are in relationships just to have someone. Especially the older you get, the more disillusioned you become. You may be in a marriage or relationship out of habit or because you’re financially trapped. I would rather be alone then be in such a situation.

I would love for a woman to date Jesus and that be a reality show. She could never snap or say he was wrong. That would be awesome TV. when she acted up or accused him of something. He could just give her a “look”. Or just say “I know you are lying” He could truly answer her questions for her. LOL

CARLITO, I was sayin’ I didn’t think MN had blurple in the vocab. Now there’s Christ-like, and then there’s CHRIST. Which will have us veering off into a whole notha direction, but I have free time if ya wanna go. Lots of self righteous folk out there suggesting you can emulate Him in all ways, but taint possible, since we’re made of human stock. However, living the best, decent life you can, is certainly attainable. And two folks both on that path are bound to bump into each other. Now I’ve led you and your horse to the water. Can’t make ya drink…

Melo, what about Daly? I look at it as a whole. I think Payne is a racist prick and was just waiting on a minority to mess up. And that would further fuel their policy towards minorities and women behind closed doors. Tiger, just played golf the best he knew how and cheated on his wife. The general public put Tiger in the spot light.

“just like when Tiger won the first time and the comment was made I guess the awards dinner will be fried chicken?”

Official response- That was totally out of line and should be dealt with with extreme disciplinary action. Very racist to say the least.

Unofficial response- Now that was funny as hell he just forgot about the Kool Aid (Red)

Tiger Woods is a reprobate. The MEDIA brought out the whole scandal and continues to ride it into the ground, not the general public. The general public doesn’t much care, I think.

The Nike commercial is extremely crass, in very poor taste, and illustrates that Tiger Woods is still a reprobate, to use his late father — who he should honor and respect — as a cheap device to try to rebuild his ruined image.

Daly is just a drunk who luvs his beer and will be broke by the time he hangs up senior golf, coz of his multiple ex wives!

Augusta and Payne are not too removed from racism ofcourse. He may be a racist,he maybe not but i think he just took advantage of Tiger’s situation and the Masters tradtion to chastise one of his members and golf biggest star.

Remember, what other most golfers do,proly outside of golf, the world barely notices. Tiger steps are watched in asia,in black community,in white community,in europe in africa..etc…

Tiger and Barack are in the same camp smewhat….

Carlito – My dad loved golf and would play on occasion. He would watch tournaments pre-Tiger. Of course, us kids would have rather watched paint dry than a golf tournament on tv! With the announcers speaking in that whisper that would put you to sleep! Well, I knew change had come that Sunday when we were gathered around the tv with my dad, watching Tiger win his first Masters & get that green jacket! And yeah, he never wanted to identify with being AA even though he was darker than we were, we were still excited and proud.

Daly has been fined and suspended by the PGA for his behavior. Augusta has had AA members since 1990. They’re a PRIVATE club, if they don’t want women as members, that’s up to them. Otherwise, all you have to do is be worth a few hundred million, they’ll let you in, maybe.

abc – I agree. They said he was getting cheers & claps from the golf crowds. As for the Nike ad, I heard it on the radio & they suggested since Nike is about the only sponsor that’s stuck with him, they can do what they want & he not have much say about it. Don’t know if that’s true, just what I heard.

Woods would have had to approve the ad. People are polite at Augusta because of that environment: Augusta won’t tolerate discord, if people act up, it’ll be the last time they’re allowed in. Same for the press, if they make negative PR and controversy, it’ll be their last Masters. It’s the same even for people that behave themselves. I think you have to be invited to participate or attend, and that contributes to everyone minding their manners and appreciating the Masters, because it might be the last one they get to attend.

Dating Jesus? Okay when I saw that title WiseDiva I thought it was a bad choice of words for someone you ran into that was dating or attempting to date a very overly religious individual.

But yeah sometimes people have unrealistic expectations of people. No one is perfect. We have to learn to love people for who they are, faults and all. We more start to consider and realize that they aren’t perfect they will know that it’s wrong to expect others to be.

People are always curious of what folks, that don’t fit the general mold of a particular race, considers themselves. It’s sort of funny to see how many different ways or how creative folks get whenever I have my niece, on how to go about asking what her mix is…everything from asian to white to even mistaking her for a boy (even when she is wearing a pink dress & earrings lol) Even had two old caucasian women in Cracker Barrel offer to pay to adopt her as their grand child. lol I should’ve asked how much they were paying…..It’s a recession dammit! :-D

Just thinking about this Chili situation really reminds me of something I have thought of often. My sweetheart is the sister of someone famous and she is famous because of her baby daddy. The sister is of course single and soooooo financially taken care of it is ridiculous. I mean child support payments of at least $100,000 a month and she got 3 of his kids. Everytime we all get together I’m always thinking what kind of dude can holler at her. She is drop dead gorgeous and all that paper and yo baby daddy is a super mega star on this planet. Who walks in behind that? I always think if he doesn’t marry her she will have to be single for life or really have to settle.

Some 1080p TVs don’t do that great a job at upconverting resolution. In store displays, the TV that’s being pushed the most will often be connected to a great connection while others of higher spec have a lesser connection. TV settings are manipulated to make the ones they want to sell the most look the best. Most often, the ones they want to sell the most are simply the ones they have the most stock of.

In choosing a TV, regardless of type, consult reviews at CNET, Consumer Reports, and others. If lighting in the room is a bit bright, or if you want to use it as a PC monitor in any way, get LCD. Otherwise, get plasma, they’re still the best. If plasma, get either Panasonic or Samsung, the screens are made by the same manufacturer and are the best. LED is nothing but side-lit LCD at an extreme cost premium, I’d recommend against it.
