What just happened?
It is so perplexing when men are attracted to you one minute and the next they act all weird and distant. I can understand when someone doesn’t want to pursue things. I get confused when they come on so strong and then start to backpedal. Are women guilty of doing the same thing to men?
I’m usually not the type to come on too strong because I have that cautious nature that puts the brakes on. Even when I feel like I am plunging into the “new man” haze head first, I remain cautiously optimistic until things start to progress. Sometimes there is a shift in attraction. You figure out that the person who once made an impression on you really isn’t that compatible with you after all. What is your next move?
What are ways you can tell you are attracted to someone? Let’s go beyond the obvious, “I want to see them naked” barometer to test how strong your attraction is; how can you determine that your attraction is significant enough to compel you to focus on just them?
How do you handle it when you are attracted to someone unexpectedly? Just because it catches you off guard, does that mean you won’t pursue things?

Luvbug – yes I have.. We were perfect for one another. I married someone else. Knew I shouldve been marrying her but society told me I neede the chick with the masters degree instead of the chick fresh out of real estate school that could sell fire in h3ll.. Her Father owned a grocery store when she was growing up so she had the money sense and everything.. Not to mention she had a walk out this world that turned me on everytime I saw her. She cooked for me and brought me lunch to my job.. She rubbed my back everytime I got out the shower.. She just took care of me.. The chick I have referred to on here as Girlfriend.. Her and I together would be a conglomerate about now cause shes killing the homes and Im killing the cars.. The most important thing was she took time to know me and what I liked and I did the same it was the most natural relationship I ever had..

I was more like “The End?”….
I kinda felt that way,too CeeMee cause I didn’t want it to end. For some reason I’d only seen bits n pieces before but ner the whole thing…so one day when it came on tv I just decided to watch it til the end….all the while never knowing the notebook was about them. Just the way he stood by her through her illness was soo sweet and tender…. I hear violins playing now….

Reading…..Currently reading a whole lot of Black history books. Madame C.J. Walker, George W. Carver, Booker T. Washington are a few of the people I have read about. This is truly inspirational reading , to have gone thru so much adversity, overcome tremendous obstacles then achieve major accomplishments is truly remarkable!

“Orange Mint and Honey” is a book based on Jill Scott’s TV movie “Sins of a Mother”…we had a viewing party to see it (girls night)…chile, i started talking about something else. Sins of a Mother can’t touch the book!

Lurker – never really had anyone disclose having a problem with it other than being immediately upset by it. I’ve only told the whole story to my long term ex-SO and he didn’t take it well at all. Kept pushing me to at least tell my mom after all these years because I’ve never told her…just didn’t want her to be hurt by it. But I did date one dude who kept wondering if I would have some sort of flashbacks or if something he could do would ever trigger some crazy reaction and it affect my ability to move forward with anyone in a viable relationship because of some things he read.
