Too predictable

Guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here it goes: You’ve become predictable.  I know, it’s hard to hear. I spotted this on Twitter the other day: “Men don’t know how to throw curve balls anymore, they are so predictable.” quipped Amber Jolie a fellow blogger.  I think she is referring to those good curve balls! That thing men do or say that really shows he’s in it to win her heart.

Women aren’t hard to please! Just as you guys are simple creatures, so are we..well we can be, sometimes. When the moons are aligned just right and you have managed to keep us smiling all week long.  Seriously though, I think women are easy to please in the sense that we love to see gestures and efforts by the men we date.  When a man does something out of the ordinary (see Friday’s post!) it adds to the attraction a great deal.

To be fair, women have moments of predictability too.  Men can sometimes hold preconceived notions about what they consider to be typical woman behavior.  Sadly, we end up affirming these and it becomes negative reinforcement.  This is when women constantly call or text, worry about where the relationship stands every other minute.  It’s something I don’t think a lot of women keep in mind when interacting with men.

Why do you think being predictable can be such a drag on a potential relationship?  How  could men and women avoid being too predictable?

My new breakfast that I am trying is Grapenuts with Vanilla Lowfat Activia yogurt instead of milk. I take two of the 4 oz. containers and mix in a bowl with the Grapenut cereal. Today is my first day of trying it. My friend Doc eats Cheerios with yogurt every morning. She gave me the idea. It seems to be quite filling. I think I will alternate between the grapenut cereal and the cheerios. As well as yogurt other than Activia.

@Radiating
You have a lot of patience babe. Now doing it in the house too is even worse. That booty might be driving him crazy. He wants to know where it is every second of the day. Lol Work it tho. You might be right. At 43 he might be set in those ways. God forbid if you have to go out of town.

kimmie, I tried the Morton’s. It’s horrible. I use all brands of Mrs. Dash. The problem is some dishes it works really well with and some not so much. I made steaks Saturday and I used KC Masterpiece seasoning. I didn’t use any salt with that because it has enough by itself.

I am just looking for more alternatives.

Melo, one Saturday I was out with my bff and her baby sister which was 19 at the time. We were having breakfast when my husband called to ask me to do him favor. He called back within a matter of minutes to see if I had done it yet. The little booby (the 19 yr old) made the statement that she could not put up with a demanding man. Her sister and myself laughed at her as I pulled out my Amex card and told to ask me how much I spend on it every month. I couldn’t tell if she puts a gun to head.

I don’t go around spending $$$ of dollars and charging it to the card just because I don’t have to pay. I understand the man works hard for his money and I am not ever going to try to take advantage of him. However he is how he is and he treats me well.

So yeah him being a little demanding is all right with me.

Raqi now slowly getting up out of tub from soaking but before she can answer…

marido: RAQI?! Where are you. I just called your name 3 secs ago.

Raqi: Babe, i’m coming. I had to hop out the tub. What’s so important that has you calling me like the kitchen was on fire?

marido: well I was sitting here cutting my toe nails and I don’t know where it flew to. You know how I like to walk around bare foot and I don’t want to end up stepping on it. Help me find it

Raqi: You called me out of my peaceful bubble bath for that?….

I dont doubt that…every relationship is like that with its own twists and lingo that only the two understand. I dont know if i treat mine as well but…she still with me! :lol:

Queen tells me that her friend’s younger sister( about 30) who lives in Atlanta(big sister is in Turkey) was asking Queen how she kept her marriage so long…in the same discussion,she asked if Queen is still cooking every day/?

Queen said Yes,”why do u find it hard?

Shes(this gerl) smashing beautiful babes(i will say that in queen face by the way,no problem) and a fromer model too, but she says she will find it hard to date an african guy(shes african too by the way) coz they like home food on the table,every day.

She keeps who she dating a secret(to Queen) but…..

she still looking! :lol: :lol;

Melo, there’s your answer right there. And it’s not just African men that like a homecooked meal everyday. I know plenty American men that would like that. And I think Mid-East men are even worst. Especially the nations that don’t think highly of women. They women are on the same level as slaves would probably be.

My husband would like a home cooked meal everyday. But he is okay with getting it 4-5 days a week because he realizes it is just not possible all the time. Sometimes we do leftovers. And he himself likes to out on the town from time to time.

Melo, I was going down to the kitchen one evening and asked him if he needed something back, he said no. He is fine. I get back and he asked me if I mind going back to get him a glass of water. I told him Yes I mind but he said please so I went back down. I got one of those big 20 oz tumblers and filled it with water. I walked over to the bed when he reached for it I poured it all over him.

Yeah we had to change the sheets and blanket but I got my point across. LOL I made for a good laugh and play fighting event.

Speaking of exes, mine called me when he heard about my recent purchase. He sounded very sad & bothered even though he claimed to be happy for me. He then goes on to say he feels left out and that this isn’t working out for him. I was sitting looking confused because he said that as if we were together. I said what do you mean it’s not working out for you…we aren’t together. He then says, well that’s what i mean. Us not being together is not working out for me. I miss you, am lonely and I recall when you used to keep me in the loop for what was going on in your life. He also wanted to know about my Friday night since my fb page status said I was still feeling buzzed from previous night. He was like so where did you go? I said well I didn’t go to a club or anything. He sat silent and was like well what did you do. Told him I went to a friends house. He sounded even more sad. Guess he’s starting to feel some kind of way but Oh Well

@Raqi??

if u look at it in western/american way,what with women’s lib ,u will have that opinion but i doubt they regard it as enslaving women or as treating women less.And the women will prolly defend their men too.

One thing i must tell u is that educated africans and educated middle eastern pple regard some aspects of western & european civilizations and culture as morally backward and grasping on to that as neo-colonialistic.

Those viewpoints u subscribe to really wont be highly regarded.

Its just the way their societal mores are.

I wld certainly punch any man in the face if they regarded my okra,cow bull balls or trotters eating habits as backward in my face. :lol:

Much of western policy toward Africa is neo-colonialistic. Imperialism is alive and well. The colonization is more subtle and sophisticated now…they don’t even have to have a physical presence in the region to implement their strategies. They can use certain locals to do their dirty work for them.
