How flexible are you?

If you’ve ever been on a date with an uptight, straight-laced person, then you already know how much fun it is to be around them.  It seems as if these individuals are not always aware that they come across as uncompromising and inflexible.  I’m not the type to turn into some doormat for a man.  Believe me, I can speak up and express my opinion without hesitation.  However, I am also able to go with the flow and relax too.

I think that while dating around,  you absolutely have to be able to keep a good attitude.  If you go around with hard and strict rules about every single thing then you are bound to run off a potentially great match.  How flexible are you in dating?  How do you handle sudden plan changes?  What do you do when you don’t get your way on a date?

Have you ever dated someone who was stubborn and set in their ways?  Is there a point where you have to either accept them for who they are or call them on it and ask them to bend a little?

I think when you have been single and on your own for a long time, your compromising muscle seems to atrophy a bit.  What is a good way to exercise it a little?

@mytwo ~ funny!

I remember when I hung out with this girl for a weekend. She was from Chicago and whenever she opened her mouth my ears would hurt. I had no idea there were truly kuntry, lazy speaking folk in Chicago. Since meeting her, I realize there’ a lot of kuntry up in Chicago!

To all the ladies in the place with style and grace
Allow me to lace these lyrical duches in your bushes
Who rock grooves and make moves with all the mommies
The back of the club, sippin Moet, is where you’ll find me
The back of the club, mackin h’es, my crew’s behind me
Mad question askin, blunt passin, music blastin
But I just can’t quit
Cause one of these honies DEMI gots ta creep with
Sleep with, keep the ep a secret why not
Why blow up my spot cause we both got hot
Now check it, I got more Mack than Craig and in the bed
Believe me sweety I got enough to feed the needy
No need to be greedy I got mad friends with Benz’s
C-notes by the layers, true fuggin players
Jump in the Rover and come over
tell your friends jump in the GS3, I got the chronic by the tree…

@Tazzee M Jankins ~ I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love Ms. Dianna Ross. I admire her hutzpah in carving out her career. Sure she stepped on a lot of toes, but she didn’t care. She got what she wanted and she wasn’t lettin no one and nothing get in her way. She stayed true to her convictions and gave the finger to anyone who had problems with her!

Don’t sweat it. Sometimes kids just freeze up. For my son’s spelling bee, I tested him to exhaustion on all the words, and he knew every single one without thinking. Got to the spelling bee and froze up on the third word. lol I know he knew it, but he just froze. It happens.

There aren’t a lot of country folk in L.A. But plenty of ghetto folk.

Lady J That’s just the way it was. And no one rocked Jordans. In Boston in the 80’s you kinda had to be a Jordan or Magic fan in secret. No way you were walking around with Jordans on your feet.

There are plenty of country folk in LA.
There’s definitely country folk as you get out in the desert towns, which are actually still part of LA County. And when I see a cat with a curl in LA, I just keep pushing. Those cats can’t let go of the OG days, and you know they gotta be hard to still be proudly rocking a curl in 2010. lol

I noticed that ‘country’ accent with Chicago-ans while in college!
Mo Better be careful saying that. Southside cats resent that. They say those westsiders (like Crucial Conflict) are the country ones. lol How you doing today though?

What I find most interesting about *Black folk dialect* is that most often, we can understand most of what the other is saying and the vast majority of us seem to be almost bilingual in that we are capable of speaking proper English.

Although, I do tend to give the side eye to folk who consistently butcher the language even when they are trying to speak correctly and for those hopelessly unable to even come close to *talking proper.*

Ye’en got deez.
