Should women play up or play down their dangerous curves if they want to attract the right kind of attention?

I think both women & men should dress in ways that are becoming to their individual body type! While I understand that a lady would not want to dress like a hoochie if she wants to attract substance, I don’t think she should dress like a nun either. Play up your most attractive features. It’s a fine line. Don’t put everything out there for the world to see, but don’t walk around in a muu muu either.

I have always had a little extra junk-in-my-trunk and have forever tried to lose weight. But lately my focus has been more on becoming more fit & healthy. I would like to go down 1 dress size. But I have this family of friends I’ve known since college, 4 girls & several female cousins. The last few times I have been around them, I notice they seem to embrace their curves. They wear clothes that enhance their curvy figures. None are overweight. They are beautiful women. I was looking at an old Sade video and remarked that her curvy female form in the dress she was wearing was lovely. So I am growing to appreciate my own curves more. And appreciate the compliments I get on it – nice compliments, not vulgar ones. I feel good that I’m attracting the “right” attention – for me.

kimmie, I agree dressing appropriately is what matters. When you put all you “stuff” out there don’t get upset when guys are jaw dropping as you pass by.

What a lot of under dressed and fabric stressed women don’t understand is a man is going to like your body because you are a woman. They are supposed to. agree agree agree….some folks fail to know and understand, especially if you have a fairly nice build is that you can do sexy all day long with clothes on. Strangely enough, very curvy women are approached more than a drop-dead gorgeous women for some reason.

What we’re say though (I believe I can safely say for those that agree), walking down the street showing everything you have, we know will turn heads. But that doesn’t necessarily equate to being sexy. You can wear sexy being clothed as well as being naked so why not go classy with it and give a little something to the imagination. I mean yes, if you’re with your SO in the confines of home and doing whatever is it you do, naturally being naked is so much better. What do you like seeing yourself in? Wearing his fav outfit would have been a no-no for me. Shoot I would have worn my fav outfit. In fact I had an ex once and we needed to get our personal items from each other. Well I left his stuff in my car unlocked, and told him to get it out and leave my things in the car. He huffed and puffed…even said he was not going to do it, and he did not. I told him he could wear my things and wash in my shower gel. However I was going to donate his ish to charity. Long story short I took his ish to Goodwill after a month or so and never looked back. When he called I told him the one I took his things too and offered him the tax credit receipt. I saw him about five years after that and he told me I was too strong and he has never seen a woman do that before and did not think I would.

I guess I’m about a good size 10. I did buy a ralph lauren skirt last week from Belks, a size 8 but I think that’s cause (or I’ve been told) the more expensive the bigger it will run, the smaller size you’ll need cause rich folks like to believe they’re smaller than they really are…just something I’ve always heard. LadyJ – Working out is not my favorite thing either. Trust me. Three years later, I am quite honest with myself about that fact. But I do know how I felt when I was 40 pounds heavier. It was just harder to do everything.

One thing that helped me was letting go of my weekly hair appointment and my fascination with wearing my hair long and straight. Now that I work out frequently, I wear my ‘S-curl’ most of the time – unless there is a special occasion (or I wanna look ESpecially cute for some pictures or somthing.) LOL!

Yeah…it’s the old Run N Shoot – or as I used to call it Shoot N Ron. lol!

Not sure, Luvbug. I only went/go infrequently. I used to only go on Mondays to the 6p class. It’s probably been almost a year since I was last out there. Matter of fact, I’m going to call to see if Willie is still there. Maybe I can pick up a class or two a month starting in April.

i’m quite serious about insanity. the s/o is doing the series, i pick out the disc that focuses on balance and ab work cuz i’m already used to that from years of yoga. the cardio stuf is NO joke. we are both in great shape and we couldn’t even get through a single cardio disc without stopping. the meal plan is very simple and the workout does not require any equipment at all. just you and your lungs

I can stand a 16 to a 14 with comfort and longterm a true 12 I am being realistic here I have never wore a 12 it is possible but a straight up 14 is the goal for now….it does make a diff….I am a 16 bottom and 14 top so a 12 top and 14 bottom is getting down some…Leggs we met before don’t let me get Monique on you you are FINE honey with your weight!!!!!LOL That is a compliment! @sexycool…LOL i know i must have seen you before because i would go on saturday mornings as well. it was a pretty tight knit group of ppl who frequented the same classes. howdy to ya! lol i now go to l.a. fitness at camp creek and don’t even take step anymore. their classes just don’t compare to metro. i take spin every once and again mixed in with cardio and weights on the machines.

Speaking of sweets, about two weeks ago OMG it was so on. I had, Applejacks, CrunchBerries, Coco Puffs, Fruitloops, and Golden Grahams on the fridge I was a tad ridiculous Especially since, without child, I’m NOT a sweets person.

Oh and the Chocolate Bar is on at Four Seasons for $20

All I know is when you hit 40+ dem dang pounds are much harder to shed than when in your earlier years. Your metabolism starts to slow down. I have to work a lot harder now than I did 10 years ago.

I have to keep those chocolates in the freezer. Keeping them in there keeps them out of sight. Aaaaand eating them frozen makes them last a little longer and I will not reach for another one before I have completely finished the first. LOL

Now stuff like cookies and chips I can walk past all day and not touch. I have to have a craving for them to eat it mostly. There are always Oreos in the house because the man loves those and there are always some kind of chips.

Has anyone tried the multigrain Pringles. They are surprisingly good. One of my girlfriends had some the other day. I guess it’s a healthier choice when eating chips.

Melo I’ve never been a big eater…I am more of a nibbler. Plus I order according to the dessert menu. If there is something good on there I order soup and salad or just a salad to save room and $$$ for later.

Intermezzo reminds me of this cool spot I went to up in Greenwich Village in NYC. They had 2 or 3 fire places going and all tables were dressed in white linen. But all they served was dessert & drinks. I ordered 2 desserts.

For me, Love Jones was a movie about people JUST LIKE ME. They were about my age going through the same kinds of things that me and my friends were experiencing at that time in my life. It was just a very real movie for me. And I related to it in a real way.

And in the end, it still lets you believe in love.

You can spend $1-3 on energy bars, each saying they provide carbs and protein in a magic mix. But the story is many of them are no different from a Snickers bar or a Pop Tart. I admit to eating protein bars for convenience during/after a workout, but I try to avoid low carb bars that use sugar alcohols because they can affect digestion in a very bad way. You can save money by buying trail mix or mixing up some of your own from raisins, nuts, yogurt chips, etc.

Always thought Omar head was too round and he’s got acne…don’t need to see that from underneath the makeup. I did think the dude that played Eve’s boyfriend was a cutie but I think that roll made him look a bit cornballish.

I don’t know who I “like” right now that is an actor. I used to like Morris Chestnut, Idris, etc. I loved Terrance Howard in The Best Man. He looks like he might be crazy in real life too.LOL!

Denzel & a few others will always have a place. But right now, the new guys – I don’t know.
