Dangerous Curves

An interesting thing about scientific studies , they reveal a lot about human behavior while further confirming what we already see every day.  I read this article, Curvy women like a drug to men’s brains, yesterday that stated, “For the study, 14 men with the average age of 25 looked at “before” and “after” pictures of nude women who had plastic surgery to get more shapely behinds.”  Researchers concluded by the male response that, “photos of the women resulted in increased activity in the part of the brain associated with rewards.”

Well, I suppose this study has a lot a lot of merit, but any nude picture of women is bound to to cause some kind of stimuli in a man.  I found it interesting that they attributed the male’s biological response as scientific explanation of “sexual harassment, whistling to women on the street, etc.  They even said that some of this research can be used in understanding more about sexual addiction. (Insert your own famous golfer joke here).

What do you think about the research?  Do you think women should be studied to see what they’re response to the male form is?  After seeing Alvin Ailey male dancers perform, I can attest to being “mesmerized” by the physical male body.  It’s a beautiful thing. Oh yes, it is. But I digress.

What do you think this study says about how men and women perceive each others physical appearance? How does this show up in how we interact on the dating scene?  Should women play up or play down their dangerous curves if they want to attract the right kind of attention?

@ kinderbabe – I’m a huge fan of keylime pie (make my own) & strawberry cheesecake ice cream (Cold Stone most favorite).

I got rid of all that cause i gotta have some balance…if i know i’m going to continue some indulgence of rich lunch & dinner food, I won’t be eating alot of dessert. I’ve been maintaining very well.

Speaking of sweets, about two weeks ago OMG it was so on. I had, Applejacks, CrunchBerries, Coco Puffs, Fruitloops, and Golden Grahams on the fridge :-| I was a tad ridiculous  Especially since, without child, I’m NOT a sweets person.

Oh and the Chocolate Bar is on at Four Seasons for $20
Just adding to the reasons for the workouts

mqew , how bout Phipps Plaza?????

I love Phipps as a a ritual every time I’m in there I have to window shop and Tiffany’s.
Believe it or not, it’s not so much that I enjoy the jewerly at Tiffany’s but the nostaligia of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s movie how Heidi Golightly and her beau window shopped there and had their charm from the cracker jack box engraved.

AAAAhhhh!!!!!! Loved it!!!!

All I know is when you hit 40+ dem dang pounds are much harder to shed than when in your earlier years. Your metabolism starts to slow down. I have to work a lot harder now than I did 10 years ago.

@ LadyJ – lol…if you can get pass my son you can have one! lol

a keylime pie has to be made with the right amount to PURE keylime juice for that twangy bite. I have one secret ingredient that no other recipe adds. Brought one to my gf house one time, and i knocked myself out tryna get to it.

@ Melo : If I’m hungry I eat.

The only thing I pay attention to is the dollar amount that I am ordering.
I match my date.
If he orders and expensive dish, it lets me know how much I can order without being offensive but I still go under his price range.

If he orders cheaply, I respect that as well.

I have to keep those chocolates in the freezer. Keeping them in there keeps them out of sight. Aaaaand eating them frozen makes them last a little longer and I will not reach for another one before I have completely finished the first. LOL

Now stuff like cookies and chips I can walk past all day and not touch. I have to have a craving for them to eat it mostly. There are always Oreos in the house because the man loves those and there are always some kind of chips.

Has anyone tried the multigrain Pringles. They are surprisingly good. One of my girlfriends had some the other day. I guess it’s a healthier choice when eating chips.

Lady J: on a new date: he pays and no I don’t take advantage.
If I want more to eat, I just get that after the date has ended (usually just eat what’s in the fridge)

for me being on a date with a guy and then buying what I want because he can’t afford it or because I don’t want to take advantage, that’s like saying loud and clear “look buddy I can still take care of myself”
Guys, know we can do that but I don’t believe they like it thrown in their faces.

When we become more like a couple, friends, or have gone on enough dates to be comfortable with one another, then I either do dutch or suprise him and treat him to a date.

Just saying.

How are we bitter? You’re the onlestly one going on and on about a man that don’t give a poop about you. Baby, you’ve gotten some of the best advice since you brought your situation to the blog… but the things you type make it so evident you are not paying any attention. Hell wasn’t the topic yesterday “Do You Want Me”? Girl he’s said no, what don’t you get about that? Stop play’n yo self!

You know what folks have been real patient with you … I’ma give you a pass because you still stuck on ******!
