Billboard of Shame

If you happened to have missed the headlines last week, Atlanta was one of the cities included in the “vengeance by billboard” by YaVaugnie Wilkins.

There is certainly a lot that is not being told about the couple’s history. Mr. Phillips made his public statement about an 8-year relationship with Ms. Wilkins. I think what struck me the most was how a relationship ends up like this after such a long time.

The whole saga seems deeper than “hell hath no fury”. Maybe it is a cautionary tale about how well we know the people we are dating or committed to. Do you think a person can conceal an entire marriage without showing any signs?

What happens when someone is not the person they portray themselves to be? If you found out that you had been dating a married person, how would you react?

What is it about love gone wrong that makes us want to exact revenge, anyway? Have you ever gone out of your way to humiliate or embarrass someone who betrayed you? Did it make you feel better?

Do you think we have a sense of entitlement when it comes to breakups? Are we owed some type of retribution for being hurt?

Infamous, I left him when I found out he was married. I was only with him one time after then and they were separated by then. No I am not proud of that one time but I can’t go back and undo it now neither am I ashame to admit I did wrong. And neither will I let someone make me feel bad for something that happened in my past that I have asked forgiveness for.

I did not destroy his wife because I did not know he was married. He was the one wrong for those 1-1/2 years.

Infamous, really? Why? All the time we were together we used condoms. We let is slip once time. Nothing happened. We let it slip another time. Bam here comes ole hazel. It’s not like I was lying to him about taking birth control or something. He knew going in raw what the chances were. He was nearly 40 at the time. We just got careless. He more than I because he had something (marriage) to loss where I didn’t.

Afternoon Folks!

LET’S GO COLTS!!!

Hate those Saints!

When I first heard the billboard story – I must admit I chuckled a little, but then I thought about how stupid it all was.

I’ve never been one to try to get revenge. I’ve had some interesting thoughts of vengeance, but never carried it out. But if anyone is looking for some ideas – hit me up ;-)

I call it the way I see it…no I don’t do the judging I say what I have to say.

I really feel sorry for the wife. As for faulting a man for not wearing protection is the biggest crock of BS out there. Why would anyone allow someone to stick something in them without protection? There was a story about a lady asking her rapist to put on a glove because she was afraid of getting HIV.

I guess the bank robbers, molesters etc. live and learn…smdh :roll:

As an Atlanta native, I’m forced to root for the Colts as Saint’s fans will be insufferable if they win a SB before the Falcons.

That would make those home and away games (for each team) much more dangerous.

So for the greater good – Go Colts!

Hey Brett played a good game. Can’t blame 6 fumbles on him. Can’t expect any team to win with that many turnovers. ONE turnover is a nail in the coffin for most teams. They should have won by two touchdowns. They gave the game away, and it wasn’t Brett’s fault.

Dan,

Please read the statement I commented on, “He was the one that did not wear a condom that night and he knew he was married.” Now tell me who is doing the blaming. I don’t have no babies by a married man so I don’t know who would be responsible. Maybe you should go to the source of the comment to get clarification.

Well Professor we live and we learn. I would not expect more than that from you either. After being an accessory to the dissolving of a marriage, and three different men have planted seeds in your womb that is what I really expected you to say. Just live and learn and after you help eff’up that woman’s marriage. Way to GO…TOUCHDOWN!!!

@Dreams

It so was his fault.

:20 left IN THE GAME and instead of running to or 3 yards, or throwing the ball away, or anything this cat does what Brett Farve does…too much.

The one thing they tell you not to do (from Pop Warner to the Pro’s) and he does it – throwing across your body and across the field.

If it were any other qb that ended 3 (GB, Jets, and Minn) seasons throwing dumb INT’s the media’d kill ‘em.

But because it’s Brett Farve, it’s not his fault….really?

@PG

Did you see the CB ’slip’ when that lineman came out on the screen pass? I almost cried…

Raqi also stated (either before or after) that she accepted responsibility for her choices in getting with the dude after finding out.

Dan there were a series of fumbles, some in the red zone, where they probably would have scored. The fumbles put them in a position to HAVE to depend on a Brett miracle to win the game.

The Falcons are the only NFL team I halfway keep up with, so I really don’t know how these 2 Super Bowl teams line up – talentwise.

Dan – it should not have come to Brett needing to make that play for the Vikings to win. AP fumbling, Percy Harvin fumbling… I mean Brett got them in position to score a few times only to have the ball mysteriously fall out of someone’s hands.

Then 12 men in the huddle?!?!?

Dan - moving away from gray and back to black

January 25th, 2010
3:27 pm

@Dreams

He didn’t need a miracle. All he needed to do was be smart.

He’s outside the pocket, he could’ve thrown the ball away;

He had two receivers within 5 yards of him to throw to;

He could’ve run a 2 or 3 yard out of bounds to stop the clock;

All these things he’d been (rightfully) lauded for doing all year – and being a smart qb.

But, when the game comes down to the final seconds, his fundamental flaw was expressed; both as a qb and leader of a team. He didn’t have to win anything…the team did.
