Go Deeper

One of the best part of going out with someone new is exploring their personality.  Not only are you putting in face time to determine how strong your attraction is, you also get to discover the way they think.

When things are going well, you move past the shallow conversations and small talk. I love to go deeper in conversations and find out how much we are alike, how we differ, and even learn something new.

Once you go below the surface, you find out what a person is truly passionate about. In my experience, this is how you manage to get to a second and third dates.  You both are so captivated by the conversation, you can’t wait for another opportunity to, well go deeper!

It is always a great sign when you can have a great discussion with someone you are attracted to.  I think that a person’s dating conversation can make or break a date.  Have you ever been  on a second date with someone whose conversation left you confused, annoyed, or bored? Trust me, if you struggle with this, it’s something you should work on.

What do you like to discuss on a date? If you find out that you are intellectually unmatched, do you think your attraction to the person would fade?

Update: Check out our fabulous Atlanta Bargain Hunger blog! Today, Miss Cash covers  Cheap Date Ideas perfect for the holiday season!

Yeah, we have come home to a squirrel and once we came home to a cardinal (bird) in the dining room. Those birds are kinda mean. I got pecked in forehead by that darn bird.

Real – A little Curtis… Well well well.. Ok how bout this..

Distant lover, lover (lover, lover, lover)
So many miles away
Heaven knows that I long for you
Every night, every night
I plan, sometimes I dance
Through the day
Distant lover (lover, lover, lover)
You should think about me
And say a prayer for me
Please, please baby
Think about me sometimes
Think about me here
Here in misery
Misery

Being home with no school or work is kinda boring. I can only watch so many Judge shows and King of Queens (it seems to be on all day on some channel.)

I have a strained hamstring and cannot even workout. But I am chopping wood…go figure. Chopping wood is a workout.

M. (pronouced M dot) u proly have ur answer. Most chics who graviatate to those guys want guys with a certain edge in them, forceful, loud, hustlers maybe, talkative, not very intellectual maybe,u cld say artsy, drink a lot, proly mess with them drugs etc. or a combination of all that.
She may have made just wronfg choices..that too.

A clean cut guy may not make her grade unless she makes a clean make over.
Now and but, thats not ur problem to figure out why she went with a,b,c,and d..

Ur job is to listen and hear what shes saying about u 2 and what she likes etc so u figure out if shes the one for U!

Well i’ll be…ya’ll just don’t have anything better to do hunh?

A squirrel running around the house and tearing up is what i do not wanna come home too..but i would loooove a fireplace! My co-worker husband but a screen on top of the chimney from outside. When she’d shared it with me she mentioned they’d heard another squirrel in the ceiling from the roof and scratching…It’s cold, they are looking for shelter.

I cain’t deal…uh unh.

Yes, Kinderbabe. I know about the Publix. It has been in the works since 2007. They had a 5 year lease signed in 2002. They gave the developer 2 more year in 2007 to get more condos and townhomes sold. It just didn’t work out that way.

m.l.k. Publix is being closed b/c no profit…well in that area i can see what is possible. But the college students will suffer.

lets say you meet a woman and the more you get to know her, you find out that 3 of her last 4 boyfriends were all abusive to her, after a while, arent you going to start asking questions about her like, this girl must be into this or something….how does she constantly gravitate towards these kind of guys. More than likely, thats all she is used to and cant embrace or recognize something better.

Does/should finding out someone’s history (pattern, RECORD) change your opinion of him/her?

Great question b/c I’ve witnessed a lot of people in “New Atlanta” talk in third person about themselves…more or less projecting who they would like to be and not who they are and/or have been thus far.

Not to say that people can’t change…but patterns are worth investigating.

Poppa Grande

Demi…it isn’t Walmart’s fault.

Publix joined into the development after being told that the developer was gonna do certain things. The original developer dropped the project in 2004 and HJ Russell took over then. Then, the real estate market plummeted.

Things went south. It is a small store (the MLK). (no pharmacy because the resident asked that they don’t put one in it because a privately black owned pharmacist was in the area and didn’t want to put him out of business.

Numbers is a major part of the issue. They are considering dropping out of Atlantic Station, too, when its lease is up (People don’t go to Atlantic Station for groceries.). The Publix at North Ave/Piedmont does 50% more business than the ones on the other side of the connector.

Not sure what you guys are talking about, but here’s my MIA story: Let me preface this post with “no way I could have made this up” and if it’s long, I am sorry.

A male associate that I hadn’t seen in about 1.5 years called inquiring on my well being. Told him all was well and asked how he was doing. He asked if he could take me to lunch this week. Told him Wed is my b-day but had already made plans, and if he liked Thursday would be nice to have lunch w/him and catch up on things. Anyway, he picks me up and when I opened the car door I knew things may not go as well as I would expect. My first pet peeve was met….wrinkles! He’s a deputy sheriff and today is his day off. He didn’t seem to find the time to iron his clothes before coming to see me. Don’t understand walking around in wrinkled clothes right off the bat.

Anyway, he takes me to Red Lobster. Driving there AWB (Average White Band for those of you with milk behind your ears) is one circa 1977. Ok, I like the group, but hadn’t heard that album/cd in years. Not much convo driving to lunch except the everyday pleasantries. While walking toward the place, I noticed a limp in his walk. He was surprised I detected it because as he stated “I work hard to disguise my limp.” Ok, I make a mental note. At the table, he’s not sure what to talk with me about. He seemed somewhat shy when I first met him and he still is. It seems as though he takes time before forming his sentences, not necessarily meaning he’s thinking before speaking!

You guys are in my head because our conversation is not flowing. I asked if he was still in the house or if he sold it. Right there, BAM, we’re talking about his separation, equity in the house, filing a public notice because he thought she was leaving town, you name it. If I could roll my eyes w/o blinking I would have. I try to veer the convo away from his home and his separation and ask about his job. DAN O DAN, his eyes lit up. That’s all he talked about. His promotion, his duties, the role of police officer v. sherrif deputy, on and on. I became an active “listener.” You know, you can only keep looking at your own plate for so long! Driving back to work, he pointed our every minor traffic violation motorists made. I couldn’t wait to flee from that car.

that space next to it looks primed to me. Now if they move and the condos go up…the next closest market is Atlantic Station, Midtown or that Westend grocery store…which is not worth it.

The college kids will suffer. I’ve always wondered why Publix had so many stores close together over here. MLK and Atlantic Station are about 3.5 miles apart. Then there is one at the intersection of Howell Mill and Collier Road (Near Fellini’s Pizza). Meanwhile…Kroger has their stores spread out more.

great point lady Luvbug,.. really for me and my upbringing,a girl, at 26+ must now know the dos and donts of life.
To see/hear some of these chics at 30 still pondering on what they need to do or still unsure…leaves me wondering???

But in america, unlike other parts of the world, drugs and absent dads and moms have let families down, leaving the kids to learn the trials and tribulations of life on their own without a guiding hand.

Demi…yeah, Publix is having problems. When I worked for BellSouth, they had issues paying the bills and almost declared Bankruptcy then. (I was a bankruptcy paralegal for BellSouth before the became the “new” ATT).

I worked the Winn Dixie/Saverite Account back then.

I see that Food Lion is trying to move into the Atlanta Metro Area. My mom lives in South Clayton and there are a few of them down there. They are also down the street from North Clayton High School on 314.
