Stop That, It’s Creepy

Somewhere on your dating resume, you may have been given the title: The Creepy One. It begins when, for some strange and inexplicable reason, you start to exhibit weird dating behavior.  It is highly likely that many of us aren’t even aware of it when it’s happening.  I think we are completely oblivious about how we are coming across sometimes.

What do you think should be on the “Stop That, It’s Creepy” list? You know what they say, when we know better, we date better, right!?

Ok, I will start with the creepy behavior I have been guilty of:

Miss Pop-up. When a guy I was seeing hadn’t invited me over I made a surprise visit. I showed up, uninvited and unexpected.  It was just driving me nuts that I hadn’t seen the inside of his place.  Turned out, he simply was renovating. He was nice enough to entertain my foolishness, but I know I gave him the “creepy chick” vibe.

Ladies, stop doing drive-bys or showing up to a guy’s place uninvited. It’s creepy. In fact, if you are too nosy and pushy, you could get dropped.

Miss Cling-on. I was smitten over a guy who was the  take home to Mama- total package type. This was the first guy I lost my cool over. I literally pouted when the poor man tried to get some space.  Being that needy – especially that quickly, made him look at me in a totally new light. What a nightmare I was.

Men like to feel needed, but the clingy, I can’t breathe without you – types are – wait for it.. CREEPY.  Stop acting out your insecurities on your man. It’s creepy.

Ladies, have you ever been disappointed in yourself and how you handled a dating relationship?  What kind of creepy behavior do you think scared men off?

I certainly have been on the receiving end before too:

Mr. One-tracked Mind: It is so weird to talk to a guy who will only talk about one topic. It could be sports, sex, or religion, but it’s the ONLY thing he talks about. If you can’t show a woman that you have more than one dimension, she is going to think you are a prison inmate who has been locked in a cell somewhere for the last decade.  Stop being a one-trick pony. Be well-rounded, otherwise,  ummm it’s creepy.

Mr. Octopus: Listen, I like to be groped as much as the next girl, but not by someone I don’t know or like.  If you attempt to palm my butt like a basketball then you’re definitely getting the creepy label. And possibly a throat chop. Or even a flat tire.

Stop acting like a horny teen who just discovered the female body. It’s creepy.  Unless she is on duty at a gentleman’s club, assume the woman wants to be treated like a lady. I think it is important to read a woman’s body language. You will know when and if she wants you to touch her… if you pay attention.

Guys, have you seen behavior from women that caused you to hit pause? Did it end up being a deal breaker?  Have you ever exhibited creepy behavior towards women? Were you able to recover from it?

Happy Friday!

Melo, I’m of the thinking that Tiger has some type of complex issues…..look at the women he cheated with, and look at the gal he married……all “below” (quotes for emphatic puposes only) him on the intelligence strata, so to speak….and professor, look deeper than her title….look at ALL the chics he’s associated with….looks like an inferiority complex to me……chics he can control…

To all of my alcohol connoisseurs, how do you all feel about Tom Collins? I am in a bartending competition tomorrow and my cocktail is a spin off an old classic.

“intelligence strata”

How do you know his wife is in that category or any of the women he cheated with?

I’d have to disagree about Tiger. It’s not about control, it’s about his bountious options and sex. Simple sex and pleasure. Relaxation. No responsibilities. Freaky stuff. Let your guard down.

He apparently, ain’t gettin’ that at home.

Glad to hear it, if I don’t get one in March I may have to do something drastic.

Was Susie embarrassed at all that someone was standing there with you?

Personally, speaking, Tiger is about to find out that all his friends aren’t really his friends. Jasper Parnevick is a joke!!!

Raqi……”if you know better, you do better” you can apply that principle across many spectrums……it would be different if he just messed with one chickenhead, but all of ‘em are! Elin included! If she was so bright, methinks Nanny wouldn’t have been her chosen profession!

I am not going to say anything about their intelligence especially the nanny. Usually education is very important to the rich and I have known of nannies that were well rounded in art history, etiquette, speak multiple languages etc. So I am not going to make a general statement. As for the young ladies working the club I do not know their critical thinking skills or their education background. Hell they could have a SAT score that is off the chain. Even Marcia Clark worked the bar scene in college and law school and she is a darn good atty.

I highly doubt control has anything to do with it. It’s about his wealth and the abundance of azz available to him.

Professor,

I agree with your 3:40. Your profession doesn’t equate your smarts necessarily. Soooo man women/men get into positions of power based upon who they know not what they know.

Elin may have made a power move, and worked the nanny ladder. This lady gain the trust of her employer and got the hook-up…gansta if you ask me she did something right so I am not going to knock her, she had a plan and she executed that plan. If it was not her plan it seems like the cards fell in her favor. Either way if we played big bank take little bank she would take all our $$$

Professor, look at what you just wrote……the operative words there are “while in college, and Law School”……granted, it don’t faze me one way or the other…..in fact, I hope ‘ol girl take his azz to the cleaners…..serves him right!

and Raqi, as far as trynna show a female what she coulda had, nah, that ain’t me……akin to sayin’ “I told you so;” naw, cause I’m tellin’ you now!!!! No, you can’t foresee what the future holds, but you can see what kinda person you’re dealing with, and if that person has the characteristics, and potential for bigger and better things…regardless of his current lot in life…you know he’s a go-getter, and ain’t gon’ accept where he is, he gon’ strive for more…..

Leggs, we got home at the same time and I showed it to him right away. I just told him I was in a rush and I scraped the post. I told him I will pay for it to get fixed. He took the baby out of the car and went in the house. He told her he was going to teach her how to drive because my dad did a bad job teaching me. LOL

I told him later that I was really sorry about it.

I agree Professor/Dreamn. A profession does not identify intelligence. A nanny can be as equally intelligent as Einstein…but a person wanting to marry and keep his/er money should be absolutely sure about wedding a person trained in the field of Finance and/or Law.

That is a question you would have to ask buddy. Professor is cool with the person she has become and proud of herself. Now it takes a good man with confidence and brains to stand beside me as a woman and he will have to judge that not me.

Also, there is not one degree in view in any room in my house. Hell I did only marched in one graduation and my mom made me do that one. When I come home I am just Professor and I like the role of a traditional woman. Just because I have done somethings does not mean I stomp around the house calling shots giving orders. However I am not above yelling in the kitchen to tell him to bring me a bowl of ice cream too, or put some extra in his bowl.
