It’s Human Nature, Really?

There is nothing more distracting to a good weekend of football then breaking gossip news reports about a high profile sports figure having an affair.  I take that back, there is one thing more distracting, when said prominent sports figure allegedly argues with his wife and wrecks his SUV about having an affair.

While Tiger Woods is making all attempts at damage control, a lot of people are speculating about the entire situation.  As always, a lot of people subscribe to the school of thought that anyone who is wealthy and powerful will never remain faithful.  Then others think that monogamy is simply not natural.  This argument always perplexes me because I have yet to see it this way.

What does it mean that it’s human nature to cheat? Is that logic simply based on biology?

I remember telling a guy that I wanted to be like the penguins and mate for life.  He argued back that they ALL look alike, so of course it is easier for them to mate for life. GREAT.  So much for my envy of penguin love!

Why do you think our society today views infidelity as a “natural” thing?  It no longer shocks or awes us, does it?

Do you think our generation is learning a different perspective about fidelity? Ladies, were you told outright or indirectly that all men cheat? Is it something you were conditioned to prepare for and deal with when it happened?

Guys how do you think your views on fidelity were shaped?  What is your position on monogamy being unnatural?

You got a generation of dudes raised by women and the most predominent male in their lives are images in pop culture (Tupac never broke up with mommy).

So all this false bravado and fake thuggery ends up washing over these young cats without real guidance.

She says she’s listening to me, but I don’t think so. Just text me saying “I miss him so much and I want to call him, please talk me out of it.” When I’m asked to do things like that I keep it real. She says I’m making sense but do I have to be so blunt. Hell, if I could I would crack open your skull to see if anything was inside. This man don’t want cha. He got what he wanted from you, and now he wants to keep this dating away from his duties as a coach. You have to got to be kidding me if you don’t see you’ve been played and now ditched.

So all this false bravado and fake thuggery ends up washing over these young cats without real guidance. Personally, I like the term that’s being used in 2009 = Moist Dudes!

I just laugh and walk away cause I aint there to get some sex.. Im actually there to call the game and after running up and down the court I aint trying to chit chat nobody up.. The coaches already bout to catch one after the game so it really isnt a good time..

being bitter is a sad thing. i have asked myself a millions times if i felt bitter and my answer was always no.

i want him to be happy. we both wouldn’t be happy if we were together. that’s just fact even though we still love one another. and i feel blessed that he married someone who will (hopefully) love him and take care of him. and also who has been a wonderful step mom to my baby boy.

when he was sad after i moved to atl, he used to talk about quitting his job and giving up. no no no. i seen my child support fly right out the window. lol. i need her there. and whatever she is doing, i pray she keeps doing it.

@IDK ~ one should know if the coach is interested in you. I’d admit I was interested in one of lil leggs coaches, but he didn’t reciprocate the interest so I let it go. I’m not the type to get up in someone’s face making sure they see me. We are friends to this day simply because we respected each other’s feelings, he didn’t feel the same for me and he knew I wouldn’t let him step to me with a bunch of empty words/compliments. My friend was used for the pantydrop and she feel for it. Now she’s all warm and fuzzy inside and he’s moving on hoping he can keep a foot in the door. I might have to pluck her in the forehead before week is out.

Not football, Melo. However, watching Blindside I understood the positions a little more (LOL). Just a little!

Sounds like she might need an intervention Leggs…and when you pluck her in the forehead ask her “Is this thing ONNN?”. It sounds like she wants to make a relatioship out of a “hit and run” when maybe it should’ve either: 1. Been a MUTUALLY understood bootey call or 2. Never should’ve happened ’cause she sounds kinda “sprung there”.

I’m confused. So, the coach and chick were seeing each other for a few months? Then, he doesn’t call for 6 days? And when he does, he says he doesn’t want to date a team mom? Even though that’s exactly what he’s been doing for some months?

Were these real dates for the last few months? Or were they hookups?

SexyCool, I am thinking sorta like you. Leggs ask your girl were they dating or was she “dating” him and he didn’t know about it.

One of the worst situations to be in is one where you are in the relationship all by yourself.

Raqi...The Ringless One

Leggs, it may be one of those situations where he led her to believe one thing when in fact his intentions were another. After he had his fill, or possible met someone else he likes more, he no longer wanted to entertain a “situation” with your friend.

One would want to think that a 40 yr. old would have the mental wherewithall to “recognize” at this point in the game but I’s wrong. Maybe he did lead her on or then again she may’ve read more into it than he did…either way SHE should’ve been more discriminatory with the cookie and HE should’ve said all of that “not dating a parent” crap upfront…..or did he?

@SCool ~ that’s the exact points I made to my gf. Told her he knew going in he didn’t want to date a team mom but did want to sample her product. He warmed her up enough for them to have a 4-hr romp session. She didn’t go into detail, but I could see she was rabid at the mouth just mentioning it. She’s beyond strung. Told her why would she want to be in a relationship that’s one-sided. He told her he didn’t want to mix things only after he got his chocolate balls twirled around a creamy snatch. He knew before then he wasn’t going to take this any further and this is what she needs to see. She can’t get past that the guy likes her and their love making was intense. I told her in no uncertain terms so freaking what he likes you. That don’t mean squat! It’s not even close to first base. You ran a home run skipping around the bases not even touching any of them. And for the record, you guys didn’t make love. He freaked you and you freaked him, that’s sex!

SexyCool - Um, yeah. So.

As to the cheating topic… It really shows ones character if they cheat on their significant other.. One day you’ll have to grow up. Or hell just stay single. Human nature my azz.. Human nature is you having to eat, breathe, mate… Cheating is a conscious decision.
