Today Gwinnett Arena is being descended upon by a lot of trucks and dirt for the Professional Bull Riders events that kick off (no pun, intended) tonight. Later today, I have a meet up with PBR’s official “barrel man” Flint Rasmussen for an interview and hopefully I can get a crash course in man wrangling!

I’m secretly hoping he will be dressed just like this. Either outfit would work.
Some of the best advice I have received about dating men - who want to marry – has come from men who have done it and are happy about it. That’s right, happily married men exist and they are chock full of good information single men and women can take heed to.
I just think it’s good practice to seek out people who have reached the destination that you desire. Often times they can offer great insight on their journey, including mistakes and pitfalls.
It could also be helpful to introduce someone you are dating to your trusted married friends. Some of my married guy friends can spot a player from a mile away and are quick to let me know it. They are all, “Game recognizes game. Get rid of him, he reminds me of myself when I didn’t care!”
You know the saying, takes one to know one, right? Well, if you take your date around married friends, you can find out from them if the person you are seeing is marriage-minded. You know, just in case you aren’t totally convinced by spending quality time with them.
What is the best advice you have received from someone who is happily married? What did they warn you about when it comes to relationships?
Have you ever introduced the person you are dating to your friends who are married? Have they ever advised you to run for the hills? Did you listen?
P.S. I’m meeting the happily married Mr. Rasmussen early this afternoon, you can still post questions for him to answer today!
Happy Friday!
2:23 UPDATE:
I had a great meet up with Flint! He was super friendly and hilarious. Flint and his wife have been married 15 years! That’s like TWO seven year itches under his belt, people.
I asked him what has worked for him and his wife all these years. He said, “lots of sex” (YESSS) and also the fact that they really enjoy their time together. She balances him out and can be the “voice of reason”. He also said that the fact that he travels so much for work, doesn’t hurt either! When he goes home, they are rarely apart.
So basically, I need to find a traveling salesman who loves sex and then live happily ever after. Easy breezy RIGHT!?

You watch boxing?? I think it’s too brutal to watch. One minute their face is regular the next minute they are bleeding with knots on their head. I can’t take it.

Afternoon All,
Still on topic? If so then me personally, I try not to give advice without first knowing the person I’m advising. My generic answer is the truest I can give which is that it takes hard work. I then let them know it is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
Happily married is the only way to be. Anything else will turn into soon to be divorced.

“One minute their face is regular the next minute they are bleeding with knots on their head”
Won’t happen if you protect your face and know when to jab, duck, move and punch and land the punch first. Not everyone winds up “punch drunk” or with knots on their head. Take Muhammad Ali, many, many, many fights he would walk away with not even a scratch on him. Tyson did too only because he never really had a boxing match. He was a wolf just waiting in the cut for his prey and with one pounce….ding, ding, fight over!

The fight was between Pacquiao and Cotto. MND and I went to a fight party.
It promised to be a damn good fight. However, the Puerto Rican just could not handle the little Filipino. And it really doesn’t help that Cotto’s face swells up if you blow on him. They should have stopped the fight after the 8th round. (Right around the time his wife and kid left the arena.) That fight had been long over. There was no way he could win after the beating that he took in the 8th.

The funny thing is when I was living in milwaukee, around the age of 9 or 10 I think (don’t quote me). I used to watch WWF and the other one, I can’t remember. My favorite one was Shawn Micheals (darn that man was sexy)…. but I can’t remeber why I jsut stopped watching.. now I don’t like either wrestling nor boxing.

Melo- money don’t count cuz they are both working hard outside the home. Why punish one partner cuz they are earning less for the same hours/time of work? If after a hard days work, we both need to eat and keep the house maintained, why don’t we both do those things?
Oh…and I have dated guys who have earned less and more than me. Come to think of it, I never asked their income or volunteered mine. I know because they volunteered it…they always asked mine though, or found out somehow.
Now I’m asking myself, why they wanted to know so badly?

Why punish one partner cuz they are earning less for the same hours/time of work?
its not so much as punishing but jus acknowledging that they put wrk to get that kinda of bacon which takes care of the house.
My thing is,u want equality in marriage but u dont want equality to be applied to the earnings u bring into it…sounds like a double standard to me,based on subjective whimms or whowver way the wind is blowing(reminds me of the flip-flop commercial that did J-Kerry down)
It takes work to get a lot of money…and work aint all physical,it cld be mental.
Now,here is my advice..as if u need it..Neva look at luv and marriage/relationships as a 50-50 thing. The moment u do that,u bound to look at ur luver, husband or wife more like an advervesary and less like a partner.
If u look at relationships the way i espouse,it dont matter u spend 9 hrs today toiling for some boss u dont know what his underwear look like,u be happy to go home with a smile and put sme in the oven for ur hubby, with a wide smile coz thats the one who be up at nite bringing u medicine if u sick…and not the boss u spend 10 hrs with eveday!
Tell me u kinda feeling soft and tender right now Luvbug!(my seduction skills are well known, careful!)

Can’t say that I am…but physical or mental, work is work. I don’t see it 50-50. I see it human-human. No more than a man wants to work all day (mentally/physically) and do all the work at home do I want to work all day and do that either…especially if I have a partner there to help me.
I couldn’t stand to watch a person I love take on all that by himself, while I sit and shoot the breeze.
