Today Gwinnett Arena is being descended upon by a lot of trucks and dirt for the Professional Bull Riders events that kick off (no pun, intended) tonight. Later today, I have a meet up with PBR’s official “barrel man” Flint Rasmussen for an interview and hopefully I can get a crash course in man wrangling!

I’m secretly hoping he will be dressed just like this. Either outfit would work.
Some of the best advice I have received about dating men - who want to marry – has come from men who have done it and are happy about it. That’s right, happily married men exist and they are chock full of good information single men and women can take heed to.
I just think it’s good practice to seek out people who have reached the destination that you desire. Often times they can offer great insight on their journey, including mistakes and pitfalls.
It could also be helpful to introduce someone you are dating to your trusted married friends. Some of my married guy friends can spot a player from a mile away and are quick to let me know it. They are all, “Game recognizes game. Get rid of him, he reminds me of myself when I didn’t care!”
You know the saying, takes one to know one, right? Well, if you take your date around married friends, you can find out from them if the person you are seeing is marriage-minded. You know, just in case you aren’t totally convinced by spending quality time with them.
What is the best advice you have received from someone who is happily married? What did they warn you about when it comes to relationships?
Have you ever introduced the person you are dating to your friends who are married? Have they ever advised you to run for the hills? Did you listen?
P.S. I’m meeting the happily married Mr. Rasmussen early this afternoon, you can still post questions for him to answer today!
Happy Friday!
2:23 UPDATE:
I had a great meet up with Flint! He was super friendly and hilarious. Flint and his wife have been married 15 years! That’s like TWO seven year itches under his belt, people.
I asked him what has worked for him and his wife all these years. He said, “lots of sex” (YESSS) and also the fact that they really enjoy their time together. She balances him out and can be the “voice of reason”. He also said that the fact that he travels so much for work, doesn’t hurt either! When he goes home, they are rarely apart.
So basically, I need to find a traveling salesman who loves sex and then live happily ever after. Easy breezy RIGHT!?

Good quote. Now a question for you, speaking of respect, I am single and in the dating scene and have noticed an influx of scandelous behavior and women. I know guys do their dirt, but these women out here are on another program right now.
How can guys better screen for these kind of females? If you respect someone, you wouldnt do them wrong right?

You can’t be afraid to take risks, M.
Don’t be foolish about it though. Until people can read others thoughts, meeting a mate will be a risk.
You gotta put on your big boys drawls to be successful.

Its all good. No worries. But one vibe I get from Atlanta, is that this is a good place to maybe meet a mate but not settle down. I just have never seen so many married people cheat compared to here. I used to live in Chicago, Minneapolis, and now Atlanta. “If it’s a ring, it aint no thing…” lol

Dream I read that story yesterday but read a follow up article today on MSNBC.com. From what I gathered the confessed what he did and the dad barged into the son’s home, made him strip nekkid, took him to a field and shot him in the head. I’m still at a loss b/c even though what the young man did was wrong he did the right thing and told. What makes me even sadder is that he said “no daddy,no” and the father grabbed his head and shot.
Even more tragic is the story about the angel in North Carolina who’s mother sold her to some pedo in exchange for drugs. The smug look/smile on his mugshot makes me wish he gets raped and strangled in prison like he did to that baby…..bastard.

Dream I read that story yesterday and read another follow up article today on MSNBC.com. I think what the young man did was wrong but he did the right thing by telling of what he did. Sometimes I wonder what would make a parent kill thier own child but I’m not a parent so I don’t know. What I though especially sad was the way he killed him….made him strip naked, took him outside and shot him in the head. I couldn’t help but wonder what the dad was thinking at the time…just before he killed his namesake.
Even sadder is the story about Shaniya Davis. Someone should kick her mom’s azz for giving her child away in exchange for drugs. When I saw the smug smile of the accuser’s mugshot I wished that he gets raped and strangled just like he did that poor baby.

the one thing that I think people forget is the time in which we live. Patience is very important.
I feel that since 80s the divorce rate has been sky high. That means that kids that endured their parent’s divorce are now dating and marrying. It is impossible to think that this doesn’t affect the dating scene. I remembered dealing with the mistrust of female. Some remember dad cheating on mom. Mom talking bad about dad and vice versa.
Therefore, patience is important, but incompatible with our fast paced society.

What is the best advice you have received from someone who is happily married? What did they warn you about when it comes to relationships?
I know a few couples who seem to be happily married, but their voluntary advice may work best in their own relationships. I receive the regular if you don’t xyz in the bedroom, he will find it elsewhere and learn how to cook.
They mean well, but I would not trade their relationships with my single status because the people who’ve volunteered their advice to me accept a few things I can’t, adultery and manipulation to name a few.
It works for them, but I can’t manage in those types of relationships and I can’t envision myself married. If I meet a monogamous, loving, responsible guy that I’m at least physically attracted to, I think I could manage the other annoyances, save marriage.

They are sad stories in the news. I learned to quit watching the news first thing in the morning because of the bad news. The last thing that I like is starting off the day hearing negativity. I hear about the horrible nature of humans all day at school. I was more sad hearing that the lady (who allegedly sold her kid) is currently pregnant.

@Dream_n, that’s why I watch GMA in the morning. The news is depressing. Also, loonies have always walked amongst us. So many have stopped taking their medication that it appears to be an influx. They’ve always been there. Lack of medication and the pressure of everyday living have people snapping left and right!

You mentioned that buffalo sandwich before, but for some reason subway does not keep the hunger away. I can eat subway and less than two hours later I am hungry.
I will probably have wings for lunch, but I really wanted to take a nap during my lunch break and if I make my wing stop I will not have time for my nap.

When Diane Sawyer is off of GMA, I will watch them again. It just seems to me like she asks stupid questions in interviews.
I remember watching an interview last year following an plane crash. She asked one of the survivors “What was going through your mind as the plane was falling from the sky?” That is a stupid question.
I can answer that question. First you say certain word, then you do that same certain word and need a change of underwear.
