The very wise Lou Holtz once said, “If you’re bored with life — you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things — you don’t have enough goals.” I happen to agree with him.
I remember my Dad would say that you can actually tell a lot about a man by where he spends most of his time and money. So if he has some over the top obsession or massive porn collection, you might want to pay attention to his habits, including their hobbies.
What kind of hobbies are you in to? How did you get started with it? (No, dating should NOT be considered a hobby!) What do you think your habits and/or hobbies say about you?
Our friends over at The Frisky listed some hobbies that can make one appealing to the opposite sex. I am not in favor of picking up a hobby solely to snag a mate, but I definitely love the idea of having/finding a passion for something. If you happen to meet someone, then it’s time well spent and personal growth. Can’t beat that!
What hobbies would make you sit up and take notice and why?

I’ve seen Amel around the ATL quite a bit. She used to frequent the Tower Records when it was next to Lenox Square. I saw Andre Benjamin there regularly.

Grande – what happened to concerts like that? Small venues up close and personal.. I remember chatting it up with one of the Jazzie Fat Nasties before they got on stage at Yin Yang.. Erika Badu and all them used to just be in there like they were enjoying the music as much as we were.. It was nothing to sit there and chat with anybody before they went on stage.. That Donnie dude should have went main stream but thats another story..

“My heart would be with the kids. I am a sucker for turning a bad situation into a miracle.”
That’s the attitude you must have. My hat’s off to you — Anyone who can do that job & do it well has my utmost respect, because I know I certainly can’t do it. And you are correct, punk kids from bigger punk parents, school systems terrified of lawsuits stripping teachers of every shred of disciplinary authority, teen pregnancy (on a side note, just in the 6 classes I taught, there were 7 — yes 7 — girls who either were pregnant or already had a baby… 1 girl was pregnant with baby #2), drugs… It truly is a calling, not a profession.
“Tell me the story swiss!!!!”
Okay, I’ll tell it, but it really is a downer — don’t say I didn’t warn you…
So, I actually taught at my old high school — so, most of my former teachers were still there. One of them was asking me how things were going & at that point I had already decided to move on to other things & told him so. His says to me “that’s a wise move… if I knew I had to spend the rest of my life in this place I’d kill myself.” Well, I didn’t think much of it, because this guy had always been a little odd. But the next morning, the biology teacher in the adjoining room got to work & found this guy dead in the equipment closet between their rooms. He had built a homemade gas chamber & gassed himself to death at the school. What’s even creepier — he had some of his student unwittingly help him build the contraption he used to off himself…
But hey, that’s the kind of weird crap that only seems to happen in my home town — now, go out there & change the world…

It seems to be about numbers. Bigger venues means more tickets to sell.
I love small venues. Like I said, I met Neneh Cherry at a small venue. Chatted up with Julie Dexter (didn’t realize that she was British until we chatted)

I was a NFL practice squad player and plenty of free time in the spring. It was easy to go to concerts back in the day.
I didn’t even mention Music Midtown where I got to see Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Cliff, Commodores (w/o Lionel), Alabama, Al Green, Booker T. and the MGs, Goodie Mob, Salt N Pepa, Heavy D, Whodini, among others.

Mo – I wash and set it every weekend. I sweat in my head A LOT when I workout, so during the week it’s the ponytail. After working out on Saturday mornings, I do it and it’s long and flowing for Saturday evening and Sundays – then back to the ponytail on Monday. That’s my ritual

Mo – My hair gets so soaked that I may wrap it at night after working out and it’s still wet in the morning. My stylist did tell me to part it down the middle and wear two ponytails when I work out. that worked, but then I started back working out in the mornings.
