File this under It’s Not Your Father’s Dating Scene: Brandon calls me after his first date with Kira because he wanted to know if he should be worried about something he noticed. As Kira was getting into her car, Brandon spotted a firearm in her handbag. He wasn’t sure if she had it on her the entire evening or not but it definitely was a gun. She didn’t notice that he saw the gun so they sort of just said goodnight and parted ways.
He asked me if I had a gun (no, not yet) and if it was normal for single women in Atlanta to take a gun on a date. I’m all for protecting yourself as long as you do it responsibly and legally, especially women! I didn’t think it was a red flag, per se, but I told Brandon to definitely talk to her about it. She may have strong opinions about it. Oh, and I also told him to try not to tick her off.
What do you think? Would you be bothered if someone you were dating carried a weapon for protection? If it’s not related to their occupation, would you be ok with them carrying a concealed weapon when you go out?
Have you ever been out with someone and noticed they were carrying a gun? What did you do?
If you are a gun owner, do you mention this fact to people you are dating? How do you broach the subject?
Could a pro-gun person and an anti-gun person co-exist in a relationship?

As member of the NRA I think everyone should carry a gun. It’s the one thing that keeps this country from being invaded because almost everyone and their grandma has one. Also if someone breaks into your house you need to be able to defend yourself. I feel no sympathy for fools who get broke in on and are murdered and have nothing to defend themselves, it’s like your asking for it.
If I were to date I would tell the chick straight up I have one and I would show my carriers license followed by my counselors license. She doesn’t like it, fine it’s no skin off my teeth. Being mugged, broke in on, or to stop a crime (like a Robbery) is not going down on my watch. I have no problem stopping Barbie Bandits either and to those who want guns banned, you will have to pry them from our cold dead hands first.

Blog Regular – well I would think that if you knew him well enough to loan him some $$$, you would know how to get in touch with him. I’ve never loaned money to someone that I could not walk up to their front door to get it if need be. It’s never come to that though because I don’t loan what I don’t need and sometimes a few bucks is worth finding the true character of a person. You may have gotten bamboozled this time, but I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson and it won’t happen again. That, to me, is priceless.

I agree Blog Regular. Just because I can make it without does not anyone the right to not pay when they owe.
It’s your money and he owes it to you. If you have $1mil in the bank that ain’t nobody’s business and no reason for anyone that takes a loan not to pay.

Kym why the hell not? If they are a true friend they would not take your money and not pay it back. If they fall on hard time they owe it to you to ask for an extension to pay it. Then if you find it in your heart to forgive the debt then so be it. Other than that friends, family or whomever needs to pay when they take your money as you loaning it to them.
A person that doesn’t keep their word is not a true friend. Friendships are usually founded on our words but maintained thru doing what you say you are going to do.

This made me think of something. I had a vasectomy after the birth of my third child. It is a delicate operation but they can be reversed sometimes. After my divorce I was dating a lady who had grown children and had NO ZERO NADA intentions of ever having children again. So, one morning, laying together in the “afterglow” and knowing how she felt about having any more children, I said to her in my most sincere sounding voice I could muster, “you are incredible, so wonderful, so nice, I am thinking about having my vasectomy reversed so you can have my baby”. She jumped out of bed and grabbed her robe so fast you would think she had been shot in the butt with a pellet gun!!! I was laughing my azz off, she got so scared. I know it is one of those things you just had to be there to appreciate but it was so funny. Took her months to realize that when I sound as serious as a heart attack, there is a 90% chance I am jerking your chain.

Lioness evidently he/she cannot contact him. That’s why they asked where is he. I know, people can get ghost when they know you are looking for them.
I don’t know W8’s situation. That may not be the case for him. But I do know about some db I have dealt with and that is what I am speaking.
I have had someone owe me money and I have had to ask someone else that I know knew how to get in touch with them to tell them I was looking for them.

Kym I agree putting someone on blast on a public forum is not the way to go about it. However like I told Lioness I have read on here where a few of the bloggers get together and hang out. Maybe BR have tried to contact him and couldn’t. Maybe one of his onling/offline buddies can let him know he is being called to the front line.
