Bad Habits

All of us has quirky little things about us that are part of who we are. For the most part, they are pretty harmless and aren’t such a big deal. However, I believe some of us have some bad habits that may actually run potential partners away. How honest are we about them, though?

I’m quick to say that I love me and if another person can’t recognize all my wonderful goodness (flaws and all) then forget about them! Every now and then, though I have had to stop and think to myself. Is this yet another reason why I’m still single?

What are you bad habits that need to be dropped? I had one that I had no choice but to drop: dating men who had no clue how to be supportive or meet my needs emotionally. They were my bad habit! They were great on paper, ambitious and driven, yada yada. When it came to checking on me and caring about what I thought or felt, I was invisibile. That’s not a good feeling: Being in a couple and feeling alone.

Do you have a bad habit you are drawn to? Maybe there is something about your behavior that is turning people off? Do you have a bad habit of talking down about love and romance? Are you constantly negative about the opposite sex and have a bad habit of complaining about them to everyone you meet?

If we were to take a real honest assessment of some of our bad habits, what do you think we could find to improve? How can we drop them like a…well bad habit!

Olive oil is THE BEST for your hair

My mother would put egg whites on her hair.

I tell ya, I use mostly store bought products and I try to use the best but you can’t beat those home remedies that our ancestors made it by on.

@kimmie ~ my child using nothing by extra virgin olive oil on her hair.

@Raqi ~ yes, yes yes, keep Vitamin E in the house (especially for my child who runs fast, but always seems to trip over air). I use to do the same when I had an Aloe Vera plant.

I loved Jergen’s Cherry Almond.

Using Mayo as a conditioner was great.

@Lioness, Skin So Soft was the only repellent we needed back then. Now you have these “horse bugs” (big bugs) flying around as thought they’ve been eating on Church’s chicken all day. May need something a little bit stronger than SSS.

Sorry, but ole school rocked!

If you make it to Trader Joes, they have a Ginger Almond Oatmeal bar soap that is the bomb! It has shea butter in it and it is huge, so it lasts a long time. They have a lavender scrub that is very nice too.

He be all shining and glowing when he climbs in bed in the evenings. LOL But that ain’t nobody business but our’s. Oh, and those 10,000 lurkers that read this blog. But hey it feels good rubbing against his skin.

Raqi – Skin So Soft is an Avon product. My grandmother used to put that or baby oil in our bath water as a moisturizer once a week.

We used Vasaline Intensive Care & sometimes Nivea. Mom used to keep a bottle of the Vasaline lotion by the sink in the kitchen. I’m so used to that, I reach for it at SO’s house, only to discover each time there is none! Gotta get a small bottle & put it there!LOL!!

Now yall know one thing that is awesome for the whole family? The J&J Nighttime Baby wash. I would keep a bottle at the house when the grandbabe was born and found out it works wonders with pre-teen after a painful soccer game.

One time Mason had the flu was aching all over. I told him to hope in the tub and I put a few squirts of that Nighttime Baby wash in there. He slept like a baby that night.

I have used in my bath a time or two also.

@Grace

Try adding some kosher salt and sea salt to the epsom mix…with a little eucalyptus oil or mentholated alcohol..makes a great soak…for body or for feet.

A natural product that has been bottled and sold on store shelves is Dead Sea salts. My sister turned me on to that. She went to Jerusalem and soaked in the dead sea and she says her skin was so soft and she was so relaxed after that vacation. She brought back some bath salts she bought while there and found a company online that she can get them now.

Infamous – 666 is the devil for real!! My grandparents still take it!

Lioness/Infamous – i give my son Cod Liver oil too and he rarely gets a cold

I am a lover of Cocoa Butter and baby oil for my skin and Keri Lotion. I switch most products for my hair on a quarterly basis but I have sworn by Carol’s Daughters styling products consistently for the last 4yrs. I have used Mary Kay on my face since I was 14 and if all else fails, Dove.

Oh and that Lavendar Vanilla from Bath & Body works is da TRUF!!!
