You’ve already met

If I think about all the men I’ve met, dated, dumped, or were dumped by, I really can’t imagine that I would end up with one of them one day. I am pretty sure that if we were “meant” to be together, then things would have happened the first time we crossed paths. What if that’s not the case, though?

I have heard a lot of couples say that they reconnected through Facebook, or found they were living in the same city, and things clicked instantly. Do you think that we meet people at certain times in our lives for a reason?

Is it possible that you have already met or dated the person you are supposed to marry? Do you believe that it’s about timing? How much do you think our life experiences change us? Is it possible that a person can be right for you now, but was wrong for you years ago?

I could be a hopeless romantic here, but do you believe in destiny? Do you think that whatever happens in your love life is going to happen because of destiny?

I belief in destiny and I believe that certain things are meant to be. However I also believe that we can hinder or prevent those happenings whether on purpose or involuntarily. And I do believe that it comes down to the right time and place for some events to rightfully and/or properly manifest.

Sometimes we have to grow a little more or go thru some other avenues and trials of life to prepare or get to that right place in time to be the right person for each other.

And then sometimes it never come to be because we messed it up some way, some how.

Morning, Leggs — Thanks… I can’t wait. Hopefully the weather this Saturday will resemble the weekend just passed — clear & not-so-hot. Meantime, it’s going to be a busy week. Got to get packed up and moved out of my place this week, as my place is scheduled to close the day after I get back from the honeymoon. :-) Anyone wanna help me move? I’ll give you all the beer/booze you can drink…

Kym — Yeah, I would like to believe in such things, and at times the romantic side of my brain does take over briefly; then the stone-cold logical side of my brain wakes up & beats the romantic side into submission. Although, I think there’s still room for romance without believing in any sort of destiny or deeper, cosmic connection, etc. It’s just a different type of romantic idea, I suppose… more about having the desire to “make it be” rather than “it was meant to be…” If that makes any sense…

Now having said that, Swiss Miss & I have both had our houses on the market for quite some time with no luck, and right before the wedding we get contracts on both — so maybe some things are meant to be… ;-)

Do you think that we meet people at certain times in our lives for a reason? Yep

Do you believe that it’s about timing? Definitely

How much do you think our life experiences change us? They shape you as a person, assisting in your development.

Is it possible that a person can be right for you know, but was wrong for you years ago? Im sure its possible however I have never really given much thought to the possibility. I pretty much leave the past at the past.

Hey Melo…I will try them out when I get back…my plans/directives seem to change daily…wherever my company has another fire they need putting out. Where is it in DC, sounds familiar, maybe Adams Morgan or somewhere like that? A place I really like is right across from the Metro stop in Chiantown. It is a Spanish Tapas bar with Happy Hour Sangria (probably a half a dozen different kinds) and complimentary paella. Great (and usually some “eye candy”).

@ Melo I looked up Nandos on line. That food looks awesome and I developed a taste for food witha Portuguese flair in Newark one time. I will definitely try it out.

@ Professor…about a year and a half ago, an associate and I hopped a jet out of Newcastle, England to Barcelona, Spain. Right off of Las Ramblas there are a bunch of Sangria bars. It was the first time I had tasted Sangria since college. It was so great I wish I had not gone so long. So good. I remembered the way I used to feel the next morning (not good), but had forgotten just how great it could taste.

Speaking of today’s topic & destiny, they were talking about this same subject on Q100 this morning. This lady called in to tell about meeting back up with her high school sweetheart at their 29th reunion back this past July 11. She stayed for about 2 weeks, went back to FLA to tie up some things and is moving back with her son. They are getting married. He has a son the same age – 11. She said all is working out wonderfully.

Destiny..I dont believe in it when it comes to relationships……Yeah I think I let one get away that I should have married…but then again I am glad i didn’t…so..I guess I made the right choice. Timing…depends on who’s time schedule…but I used to beliebe in destiny, timing the goodness of folks i general….not anymore though…life is just what you make it and what you are willing to deal with and what you are not…but that’s just my opinion

Tazzee I think you wonderful news has everyone in a fantabulous feeling all lovable mood today. Or it could very well be that the winter is right around the corner and folks looking for a warm body to snuggle up against, but I was surely expecting more “I don’t do do-overs”, “I don’t give second chances” and “they are an ex for a reason” comments like we have seen in the past when the topic of re-dating an ex comes up. You have filled the air with so much love today in addition to your normal pleasantness. LOL

I am in a good mood because we went shooting at the gun range this weekend. How can you be anything but happy after a weekend of safe firearm weaponry?

The wife even picked out a Sig P238 (handgun) to purchase for herself. She is headed down to the Courthouse to get a carry/conceal permit for it.

Tazzee – Wonderful news! And congrats to you both! :)

Truth – Nice reading you again…it’s been awhile it seems. :)

On Topic –

Do you think that we meet people at certain times in our lives for a reason?… Of course.

Is it possible that you have already met or dated the person you are supposed to marry? …I really don’t know how to answer that..can’t call it.

Do you believe that it’s about timing? I believe timing to be a big part of the equation, but not necessarily its entirety. Depends who you ask…

How much do you think our life experiences change us? This depends on the individuals involved and if they’re willing to allow themselves to grow. Depending on one’s resistance/open-ness to the thought of “change,” our life experiences has the potential to have an insignificant or dramatic impact…again depends on the individual, their mentality and self awareness.

Is it possible that a person can be right for you now, but was wrong for you years ago? I certainly do. Some call it growth.

I could be a hopeless romantic here, but do you believe in destiny? Do you think that whatever happens in your love life is going to happen because of destiny? Unsure of that as well. I’m simply of the belief that everything comes along in our lives for a reason, whether we’re receptive to it or not…ready or not. However, I do believe depending on the roads we travel, we will and do have an impact on how we get from point A to point B…but arriving at point B nonetheless.

Hey Ya’ll……long time no blog………I just had to post a “CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Tazzee Mae Jenkins…….Go on girl……yeah I do think it is something in the air.

What’s up ARED, MELO, LEGGS, FOOTS, DAN, INFAMOUS, W8, RAQI……I have been lurking trying to stay under IT’s radar, you guys are definately true to this blog.

I wish all of you all who are seeking love and exploring the possibility of being in a relationship to be true to yourself. Meeting and re-connecting can be a good thing, if the relationship didn’t end for obvious reasons ( i.e. cheating, abuse, illegal activities, etc.) People grow, people change, people mature……it is worth a chance to at least see what could be.

Until the next time………………peace!!!!

Kym

I have two really good friends that live in that area. One has had a very good experience in the Capital View area. No problems, good neighbors, and no robberies at all in six years. He has really made his house look very good and yard looks good, too.

However, the other has had more problems than good. He has had more than his share of break-ins. For example, he went on vacation to Rio and came back to find that his house had been broken into and the whole HVAC system was stolen. He has found out that his house was once the house of the nieghborhood crackhouse and some people still come around thinking that it is back in business. Even the cops walked in saying “Wow!! They’ve done wonders to this place!”
I had to show up one time when his alarm went off and he was out of town

Both got money to move into that area. I think that they got first time homebuyer statuses and got even more money. Both have bungalows.

I agree with ya though that there are some nice houses there.

Definition for destiny:

1. somebody’s preordained future: the apparently predetermined and inevitable series of events that happen to somebody or something

we always say *it happened for a reason*. destiny is the reason why ppl believe this. yes, i believe in destiny. and i know that some folks come into my life so that i can stay on the right track to where i’m suppose to be going. i just stay optimistic and keep looking straight ahead.

work is calling . . .

Hey Ared,
the plans are coming about. He wants to get married at the courthouse and have a banging reception; but I want the whole church wedding and reception. Eventhough we both were married before, I still did not get to have my princess moment and this time around, I want it to be exactly they way I want it. He has come around to the whole church wedding, but he is planning the reception details all by himself.

We are now debating where, here in Lawrenceville or near his hometown in Tallahassee. If we have it here in ATL, there will definately be evites to my blog peoples!!!!
