Single people can be a creative bunch. We come up with the most unique excuses reasons not to date someone. I’m talking about the “relationship resume” that some people prefer to be long, detailed, and has proof of commitment. You say you are a good candidate? We’re going to need references!
While some prefer not to date a previously married person, others would just like someone who is not new to the relationship thing. I can admit that dating someone with no real relationship experience can be challenging.
You may have to become a virtual relationship guide and exercise a little more patience. It’s not necessarily impossible to do but I am pretty sure the inexperienced person would have to put up with something too. That’s why it’s called a relationship.
Do you think those post high school and college relationships really make a big difference in our relationship resume? What do you think is important in a person’s dating history?
What was the relationship from your past that you think helped make you a better person?
Which one do you think actually created some emotional baggage for you?
Would it bother you if you were dating someone who has never had a long-term relationship before?
I want to remind you that the Misadventures in Atlanta blog will be closed on Friday.
Happy Monday!

I have had one policy with women, “Look but don’t touch” Applies both ways. Smart men stay single.
Women = emotional baggage

Looks like our property taxes are going up. Joy.
I didn’t think that you lived in the city limits. I thought that it was just us.
Well, I would rather that happen than the furloughs to continue. Luckily, I live near a firestation. But, others are not so lucky.
It is really frustrating to need something from the City and have them closed. Thye’ve been closed on Fridays.
I’d like to get the waterbills straight.
They gotta get revenue up. Property values tumbled. I saw our recent assessment.

PG – I’m a city girl at heart. My realtor was instructed that I only wanted to buy in the city.
I agree that the furloughs must end. I think I’d rather a sales tax hike. I’d like all the folks who live in the burbs and play in the city to be accountable too. I’d like those people who drive in from other counties other than Fulton and DeKalb and use MARTA to be on the hook for it’s upkeep too.
I got my recent assesment too. A lot of my neighbors appealed so they readjusted our entire area.
And don’t even get me started on the Department of Watershed Management!!!

Real comedy? Florence from the Jeffersons meets Helen Willis and the second black in the building that’s not of the “maid” persuasion and states after looking both she and Mrs. Jefferson over and asks, “how come we overcame and nobody told me!”

I agree with that very much. I know folks that live in Gwinnett and catch the train at the Doraville station. So, they are mooching off of Fulton and DeKalb’s support of MARTA. I nominate AR for City council.
Also, I think that all of the Atlanta Metropolitan counties should support Grady Hospital The fact that DeKalb and Fulton support the hospital that takes in people from Douglas, Clayton, Gwinnett, Cobb, etc. that can’t pay their medical bills.

How would that be accessed?
As for MARTA, I think that I see where they are headed in regards to fees. The Breeze card system already asks that someone taps as the enter the system and out as they leave. Eventually, they can charge by distance. Some train systems already charge by distance. So, someone leaving the Doraville station may end up paying more than someone leaving from Lindbergh.

Cemeeli – Like I said, sales tax. If you’re buying in the city, you’ll get taxed. If you don’t come to the city, you don’t contribute to the tax base. You want to eat in the restaurants, see the shows, buy the clothes, the sales tax will get you.
PG – Too funny about that city council suggestion.

PG – Amen to this as well.
And I do think a distance tax on MARTA is the way to go! In addition, our drivers licenses are bar coded. One of these days I’d love to see you have to scan your DL to buy a MARTA ticket. If you live outside Fulton or DeKalb, you’ll be paying a surcharge.

I think that it is coming.
They are getting info of how far each rider is riding. Each card has an id number on it so they can track it.
They could get enough info to present to the State Legislature (who would have to approve any changes).
I’m not saying that it will happen tomorrow, though.

The problem with that most riders get their MARTA passes through their job. I know many firms that pay 100% of their employee’s public transit instead of given discounts for parking in the parking decks.

I still think that they are going to have to rethink the administrative regional transit jurisdiction at some point…what they may not have wanted 35 years ago, may be what they need to do today.

Cemeeli – It’s a sales tax. You know taxes vary by county, right? You know the city of Atlanta has an additional tax on things like retail goods. If you don’t BUY in the city you don’t have to worry about paying such a tax.
Why is this confusing to you?

…i’d rather you use the non-answer preference because all the extra about MARTA & shopping/services was already noted in my intial response.
