Because He Kept Me Off the Pole
Sunday is Father’s Day, a rare day when some men get as good as they give. If you are fortunate enough to have a father that is still here, I urge you to spend time with him. If that is not possible then I think a card or phone call can go a long way!
I am so thankful for my Father, for always being there for me. He has been such a great example of what a good man is. I remember listening to comic Chris Rock joke about being a father to his daughters and the importance of being a good dad: I realize my only job in life is to keep her off the pole. I mean they don’t grade fathers but if your daughter is a stripper you messed up.
I love my Dad because he’s kept me off the pole and kept me from doing outrageous things to a man on a dance floor (I’m still in disbelief, sorry). I love my dad because he is always supportive, loves me unconditionally, and has always been there for me. In a lot of ways, I think he has set the standard for my relationships with men.
Ladies, why do you love your father? What has he taught you about dating, relationships, and men?

I was going to say that same thang **abc** I know plenty of women who grew up with great dads, both parents on point..who went high and too the left. Preggie, drugs, more preggie, more drugs. And the parents gave them all the vacations and love and support. Still wound up, on, under and riding the pole, and in the process of making little pole riders themselves unless Momma and Daddy intervene to raise that kid.

I LOVE my daddy and am blessed to still have him around. He taught me alot about confidence, standing your ground, not being afraid to try new things and respect. I remember being a little girl and him taking me out to Nathan’s for hotdogs on Saturdays and we’d sit in the booth together and talk. He taught me how to ride a bike and drive. He taught me how to fight the guy that was bullying me in the 7th grade. LOL!! He taught me how to install lighting, paint, cut grass and take care of light work around the house. More importantly, he showed me how a man is supposed to act and what he is supposed to do.
He’s always there when I need a shoulder to cry on or some tough love. We still hang out regularly and I enjoy it. Whether we’re at the restaurant talking about world news or we’re at the firing range shooting at targets…that’s my DADDY.
