Cougar Duty
In an attempt at full disclosure (sort of) of my dating life, I have to confess that yours truly is dating a younger guy. He is a solid 9 years younger than I am! It started out pretty innocently because I had no idea just how young the guy was until our first date. He just looked my age and I was too distracted by his muscles to card him!
After polling my friends for their opinion (sometimes I live my life by committee), I received some interesting advice. It ranged from “give him a chance” to “why not play a little bit with him”, and not one person advised me against it.
An older woman and younger man relationship can bring it’s own unique set of dating issues. Not to mention how some folks think that younger men date older women because they have “Mommy issues”. What do you think? In your opinion what is the prognosis for such relationships?
Guys, have you ever dated an older woman? How much older was she? What attracted you to her? Do you have an age limit to how old you would date?
Ladies, am I completely insane for dating a 28 year old? Would you do it? How young would you go before it’s too creepy for your taste?

My husband is a year younger than me……… 20’s I was dating a 17 year old ……..his maturity and ability to handle his business has far surpassed any relationship I have ever had period

Tazzee – I always read that Geminis were most compatible with Libras. I have a book that I bought recently dedicated to my sign and I must say everything I have ever read (including this book) says the same thing in terms of compatible signs. I have never heard the “3rd over” rule Angie speaks of but it could work

PoppaG/Leggs Okay he just “clocks out” on his assigned/homework english/writing. But when he’s able to freely write, it’s beautiful! I mean he IS creative and handwriting is very precise. Cursive writing is better than some grown-ups i’ve seen. But when you start talking “writing rules” and “langauge “clauses” sequence and sentence structurals, he’s like…okay i’m out!
Good thing is he took his spelling skills from his mother’s DNA

Mo – Libra, that’s Sept-October, right? My best friend is a Libra, but the worst romantic relationship I ever had was with a Libra too. That’s why I don’t mess with that stuff, LOL. I just read online about Geminis and Virgos (I think my guy is a Virgo) and it said the relationship would crash quickly. I think Imma break up with him tonight…naw next week – AFTER my birthday

The truth is the truth Melo,don’t get it twisted I love my husband he is my king for life, there is always one in someones life that you feel got away or you still wonder if about if you choose to deny it or not that is if you are human. Next thing i am not a chic I am a lady and a good one at that I guess that is why I have been faithful to my husband for 9 years this is all his and only. It is not about ratings boo the past is the past and the past is real and as long as you live you can live in it or get past it.

Tazzee – Well one of my most compatible signs is Cancer and my ex is a Cancer. Im trying to stay away from that as well. I have found though that my guy choices have (ironically) fit the signs Im compatible with. I like checking out the sign for charateristics. But I could see how the ‘Twins’ and the ‘Scales’ might not agree! LOL

That’s it. Sounds like he probably just doesn’t like being told what or how to write. I had that issue some. I hated being told what to read. I hated some of the books that we were assigned in HS. I loved to read, but I hated reading assigned things. I refused to read The Diary of Anne Frank. To this day, I can’t stand any Charles Dickens after Oliver Twist. (Too descriptive…just get to some action.) . I wanted to read Stephen King not that.
You said that he is closing in on his teenage-dom. That is when my stubbornness kicked in. Sounds like he likes freestyle, but hates the restriction put on him by the rules.

I don’t have any problem dating my 14 year old girlfriend even though I’m 32. Her Mom is ok with the situation and is glad an experienced worldly man is taking care of her daughter.

When I was in my 20s in Sandy Springs, I used to looove to get caught by some cougars. When I was 23, I had a hot six-month affair with a 39-year-old whose husband had left her for a 23-year-old. I also had short-term relationships with a couple of women in their 40s, one in her 50s. They were all mega hot. Now I’m 46.

Buuuuuuttttt…..the “rules” I pay for the RULES. Remember he’s in tuition base institution. So he has no other choice but to do alll that work. All of it.
