Cougar Duty

In an attempt at full disclosure (sort of) of my dating life, I have to confess that yours truly is dating a younger guy. He is a solid 9 years younger than I am! It started out pretty innocently because I had no idea just how young the guy was until our first date. He just looked my age and I was too distracted by his muscles to card him!

After polling my friends for their opinion (sometimes I live my life by committee), I received some interesting advice. It ranged from “give him a chance” to “why not play a little bit with him”, and not one person advised me against it.

An older woman and younger man relationship can bring it’s own unique set of dating issues. Not to mention how some folks think that younger men date older women because they have “Mommy issues”. What do you think? In your opinion what is the prognosis for such relationships?

Guys, have you ever dated an older woman? How much older was she? What attracted you to her? Do you have an age limit to how old you would date?

Ladies, am I completely insane for dating a 28 year old? Would you do it? How young would you go before it’s too creepy for your taste?

HAPPY FRIDAY!

@ARed, you should have given him my number. I know I enjoy life and don’t look nor act my age, but come on, what’s up with all these men and their ailments and all the medication they have to take? Some folk are aging too dang fast. Go find that dude and tell him to call me. First, was he cute to you?

@Beautiful, no, I’m not watching it.

Well…..I’m gonna get my cleaning on, and I’m gonna get my bbqing on, and I’m gonna get my drink/bid whist on, all weekend along. Hey, fellow blogger, its on you, so whatcha gonna do?

@Beautiful, I did that exact thing. This guy was interested in me, but I wasn’t interested in him. Thought my gf would be a better fit for him and told him. He resented me for suggesting one of my friends would really like him when he was trying to get at me. I still laugh when picturing his face when he first approached to the disgust on his face when he walked away.

Holy Cow Manure!!! A darn good question.

I do this all the time for my boys…providing there was no sex involve. I think it’s best to introduce both parties in a neutral environment…if sparks fly, they fly…if not, just keep it moving.

No harm no foul.

Very handsome, very fit. I could tell he stays very active because he had the body of someone 20 years younger. I didn’t think he was that old when I saw him, so 49 caught me by surprise.

Leggs – Right. But remember, he said that because he had the same complaints about women his age as you do. I think that both of you would date a person your age if they did more than lay around and talk about ailments.

To get the multiple  s you have to put a couple of spaces in between each one.

Yes, I am not very comfortable with the idea that the young dude was learing to read and write as I was out exploring the world…so to speak…something about that is a little weird…it was funny, when I thought about the year that he was born…mayne, I was jammin to some cuts…I was already in my rites of passage age when he was still doing diapers…lol

@Leggs

Yo…what is up with some of these oldheads…dudes have 17 vials of meds to take…and inevitably the meds interfere with other body functions…this don’t wokr, that don’t last…this needs fixing…lol…bedtime at 7 pm…neveh mind.

I’ve never really dated a woman older than me. When I was 18, I messed around a couple of times with a 25 year old chick, but that was about it. Now my brother-in-law could speak on this topic. He’s 23 and his wife is 35. They got married last August and now they are expecting their first child together. The age difference doesn’t seem to be a big deal for them at all. She’s just as goofy and silly as he is, yet she does keep him on the up and up. She’s also a good role model for his daughter from a previous relationship. Now if only we could figure out how to completely eliminate the daughter’s mother from the picture, life would be great. lol

Leggs I guess it all depends. The only woman that I know personally that married a much older man did so because she wanted a guy that was done with running the streets, partying and chasing skirts. She wanted a guy that is settled. They vacation and travel together and all that but the partying and all that is out.

And it could very well be because she is of childbearing age and wanted a good settled man to father her kids. They have three and he spends time with his kids as a family man would rather than hanging out allllll the time with his buddies.

It just depends on where you are in life I guess.
