Live from Falcons versus Saints: Welcome to the Egg Bowl!

By now, you’ve heard that some workers at Hartsfield-Jackson greeted the arrival of the New Orleans Saints by pelting a team bus with eggs. What the humorless Saints apparently failed to grasp was that the throwing of eggs is an Atlanta welcoming tradition. Like draping a lei around an arriving tourist is in Hawaii. Or like tossing beads is during Mardi Gras.
Wait a second. Scratch that last one.
As if this rivalry of Big Ben Right and Drew Brees rubbing it in needed more fuel, the egg toss surely supplied it. These teams, as you know, despise one another. The Falcons hate the Saints because the Saints keep beating them and laughing about it. The Saints hate the Falcons because the Falcons never seem to get the yolk … er, joke. (And also because of Roddy White. Don’t forget Roddy White.)
Cold numbers in a heated series: The Saints have won 11 of the past 13 games against the Falcons and seven of nine since the advent of Dimitroff/Smith/Ryan. Yes, it’s getting old. Yes, it’s time for the Falcons to beat this team, which on the record isn’t all that good. Yes, I believe it will happen tonight.
And with that, the figurative floor is again open. I’ll be here to watch, comment and toss out the ceremonial first egg. I invite you to join me, and I promise to do my best to see that all of y’all have an eggcellent time.

This team is so damn frustrating to watch. They come out like gangbusters on both sides of the ball and then its as if they can’t do a thing on either side of the ball. This is exactly why they get no respect from the talking heads. In all honesty, the pundits are right. This team is mediocre at best. They cannot play a complete football game.

Roddy without a catch tonight. Didn’t matter he ran a 9 yard route when they needed 10. Falcons can’t extend the field because of the horrible pass protection.
This one is probably over. And I think this is an indicator of how the Falcons will perform in the playoffs. You have to give the QB time to pass the ball.

This O is getting exposed badly! We won’t compete past the first round. Games like this is what separates good QB’s from great ones. Brees 17 down doesn’t panic and fights back. Ryan 17 up and sits on his haunches letting the 17 point lead be picked away.

Yep. If the QB doesn’t have time to throw, it doesn’t matter how good the receiver is. Falcons need to quit going after “weapons” and fix both lines.

The defense is playing with a lot of heart without the offense helping them out. All of the defensive players need to kick the offensive players behinds when this game is over.

LMAO -I am Still waiting for Matt Rayan the elite QB to show up and take over this game . The man is just a average QB and i believe it is safe to say the Falcons will fair better if they thing about should drafting one of those new big young mobil QB’s that we see coming out of college every year .After they lose tonight the Falcons should clean house get rid of their one denominational conservative Coach Smith get rid of their old Linebacker crew that seam to give out of gas after 12 minute into the ball game . Hire a real receiving coach one that can teach Roddy White how to run a rout . Don’t get me wrong the Falcons have some good players but the bad one out number the them 3 to 1 .The Falcons are so Pathetic that it’s not even laughable .
