The team in blue is on the mind of Georgia, which plays a different team in blue tonight. (AP photo)
Lexington, Ky. – Two weeks after Georgia lost by four touchdowns in Columbia, the Bulldogs again have the opening they need. Yes, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. But if Georgia is good enough to beat you-know-who you-know-where next Saturday, the Bulldogs will stand atop the SEC East with only two winnable conference games (Ole Miss and Auburn) remaining.
Dept. of details: Georgia does need to beat Kentucky here tonight.
Dept. of reality: Georgia should beat Kentucky by 30 points.
Even if Kentucky were any good, I can’t imagine the Wildcats could stand with a Georgia team that’s coming off a bye and is sure to be enthused by the news that is Florida whipping South Carolina in Gainesville. Kentucky, however, is not any good. Even by UK standards, this is an awful assemblage. Its four SEC losses have come by 38, 21, 13 and 42 points. The 42-point loss at Arkansas was shortened to three quarters by a merciful thunderstorm.
Yes, I know that the Gator-Gamecock tussle isn’t officially over, but I’ve seen enough. Florida’s not losing today. South Carolina, which looked so good against Georgia, hasn’t looked the same since, and now the Gamecocks are pondering a rather epic slide: Could the same Chickens who were ranked No. 3 in the land only eight days ago wind up in Chick-fil-A Bowl?
And now you’re asking: If South Carolina wasn’t half as good as it l0oked against Georgia, what does that say about Georgia? Feel free to discuss among yourselves, while we await the 7 p.m. (or thereabouts) kickoff. And I thank you for your patronage.

I hope yall realize granthams numbers are worse than willie martinez numbers. i am not saying i wish we had willie bc he was awful what i am saying is grantham is worse. last yr we were a horrible defense look at the four losses not the wins against horrible teams that finished under 500. Wake up dawg fans grantham is overrated and his scheme is to hard. he needs to simplify it. no one has never had the talent that this defense has on it not even saban at bama last yr. we had 4 or 5 first round grades on defense. grantham might have killed those grades though.

What an absolute joke. #72 hasn’t recovered from his butt whipping against USC. The guy obviously can’t pass block so why isn’t a TE or RB helping him?
I’m a big fan of UGA, but I’m so sick of this crap. I hope they lose so changes will be made.

It’s the same tired old story with the UGA Dawgs……..they beat the “FLUFF” teams but Florida is going to expose them for the pretenders that they are.
Even if they get to the SEC championship game, by way of the SEC East, everyone already knows what is going to happen….I’m just keeping it real!!!!!

it is horrible coaching and nothing more. we are unprepared and motivated on top of being coached down. How do you come out playing like this when you just realized you can still reach all of the goals that were set in the off season. I DONT GET IT

Coach Grantham was making $750,000 before they called him in and gave him a raise. I think he could buy some bling with that to help us in recruiting. I am expecting a big personal foul real soon. Just keep watching.

Why is it so hard for this D to contain a QB? Because they use the NFL style pass rush that blows up the field. USC blew us apart because of this and LSU didn’t try to sack the QB they just contained him. FL will kill us because of this.
