I'm guessing this Gamecock fancies his team's chances, too. Other Gamecocks do. (AP photo)
Columbia, S.C. – Big game here. Maybe you’ve heard.
Listening to the pregame show on the radio riding in — and here let me note that it took Team AJC nearly 2 1/2 hours to negotiate the final five miles — was to hear a heaping helping of Gamecock bravado. Every interview (including one with the famous South Carolinian Darius “Hootie” Rucker) went thusly: Interviewee paid tribute to Georgia’s talent, then opined that there was no way the home side could lose.
I think the home side can lose. I picked South Carolina to win this game several months ago. (I also picked Georgia to finish 11-1 and still win the SEC East and the SEC title.) But Georgia has been the better team to date, and I say this largely because, as a Kentucky graduate, I’m leery of any team that trails the Wildcats by 10 points after two quarters.
Beyond that, I’ve got nothing that you don’t already know. Whoever wins will be in Position A to claim the East — yes, I realize Florida is again looming — and I’m fairly confident someone will win here. I invite you to join me as we ride along tonight, and I can only hope the game itself moves faster than the inbound traffic. And, as ever, I thank you in advance.

Vandy played USC tougher than this joke of a defense. There nothing on this line of scrimmage. Yet 2 guys will be drafted in the 1rst round of this years NFL draft. What is the issue?

OK, I stand corrected. Leading the No. 5 team in the land by 21 points after 15 minutes is not impressive.

Bradley…South Carolina looks like the best team in the history of football.
It’s only because they’re playing the Bulldogs…

There’s a common reason Georgia’s sports teams can’t win in the spotlight. LEADERSHIP. The Braves don’t have it, the Hawks don’t have it, Georgia doesn’t have it. Falcons leadership has failed the test so far but this year may be different. People are winners for a reason because they rise to occasion in the biggest moments. This state hasn’t had that since David Justice and Tom Glavine.

Yea Connor Shaw is a good QB! Its the type of plays SC is running! This has 45- whatever writtin all over it! Is Jarvis Jones on the field? No plays after all that hype afte Mizzou game! Well Geogia will go to a mid level bowl game again and SC will play Florida for the SEC East. Where is that game? The home team will win and we will be playing in the Motor City Bowl again!

Oh, this isn’t Buffalo or Mizzou.. is it.
The only reason UGA stays in the Top 25 this season is because they only face one more good team all year.
This team, and those freshman RBs, is massively overrated.

A massacre.
If you think Georgia has a ghost of a chance in this game, you know nothing about football.
South Carolina is dictating everything, making all the plays, and completely imposing their will.
Game is over in the 2nd. If this were a boxing match, the ref would’ve stopped it.

Dawgs 0-9 in top ten games of late……beyond putrid.
Why is anyone surprised
