Mark, your twitter pic and your blog picture gave me the idea that you were in your late 30s, maybe early 40s. However, after watching that video, I have to believe you are closer to 60. I enjoy reading your content, but those pics need to be updated.

DANG, Mark. How many years old are your head shot and your Twitter avatar?! I understand that aging isn’t fun—I’m shocked at the amount of grey hair that I now have—but isn’t better just to own it? Your grandchildren will thank you.

Schulz and you are too guarded in these video clips. Let it rip a little. Talk about how Georgia has not beaten these highly ranked teams. I am not anti-Bulldog, but the subtext of lack of a signature win is weighing.
Was ‘83 when UGA beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl? I always felt that was one of the proudest performances by a UGA team.

In my humble opinion, turnovers will be the deciding factor in this game. Both teams look great at times, less dominant at others. Georgia will keep it wrapped up and take the game.

GTBob, I agree that this game is totally insignificant. It’s only the #5 and #6 ranked teams in the country. I’m not sure if anyone is even televising the game. I heard they got these two nobody’s to call the call the game, some guys named Kirk and Brent. Put the bath salts down.

Stant Jemima and Ben – you both are complete idiots. Why would you make such hateful comments? Really? Were you beaten up constantly as you were growing up? Never had a school date? Never got married? Living in your mother’s basement – STILL? I ask these questions because I am trying to figure out why 2 people would watch a sports commentary piece and come away feeling like you need to make the comments you made about Mark’s looks/age. What the heck? It’s easy to belittle people from your basement keyboard. Your “hit and run” comments are beyond the pale. They show a disturbing lack of compassion for others. An apology to Mark is certainly in order. But I don’t expect he will get one. You guys have something wrong with you and I suspect most of it has to to do with what you don’t like when you look in the mirror. Thanks for showing the rest of us a little bit of the hate that goes on inside those pea brains of yours.

Lets put it this way. CBS has first pick of any SEC games for the week and they chose LSU/Florida over UGA/South Carolina. That should tell you how much anyone cares about the over inflated rankings that UGA and South Carolina have.

GT BOOB – There are FIVE (5) SEC teams ranked in the Top 10… LSU & UF being 2 of them. Were you aware that the pathetic ACC just had its 10th game in conference HISTORY that matched teams ranked in the Top 10?!?!? THe SEC has 7 – 10 games EVERY year… Quit hating you POS!! Really? Name the 10 games the SEC will have between top 10 teams this year. The only reason the SEC has 5 teams in the top 10 is because nobody in the SEC outside of Bama and LSU plays anyone worth a crap in the first few weeks. Therefore average teams like Florida get a high ranking even though they were only slightly better than Tennessee and Bowling Green.

Hmm lets see. 85,000 + 20,000 = 105,000.
Tech’s season attendance so far: 175,563.
You should ask Santa for a calculator for Christmas. Either way, the fact that South Carolina has a lot of fans doesn’t really change anything I said.

Jemima, Exactly what is the point you are trying to make to Mark or for this story by making such an odd comment about his photo, his age or his responsibility to you, me or any one else regarding his Twitter photo or his AJC feature piece photos? While I am sure it is very easy for you or anyone else to type a crass comment, press enter and then go about your day with no regards to how it makes another person feel, but if you could try to put yourself in the shoes of the other person, in this case Mark who has a family, perhaps children and most certainly friends who read his stories and respect him as a journalist, a friend and as a husband or father. You do not know Mark and you know nothing about his life other than what he writes and lets you know about him. Judging him on his age versus how old you thought he was in childish and in some ways bullying to post such an inane comment. It is none of your business about Mark’s age and unless you are his advisor or agent, is none of your business about his press photos or any other aspect of his professional or personal life. If you came here to read his story or to gather some insight about his knowledge of local sports and how it can benefit you, then so be it. Coming here for useless or potentially hurtful, discriminating comments is childish, classless and thoughtless.

I like our chances Saturday. The atmosphere shoudn’t bother the young guys on the team. They have already had that experience at Missouri. Our D is back at full force and if Murray and the O can protect the ball it should be a good. We can’t give cough up the ball or make mistakes like twe did last year with SC. Go Dawgs.

Enormity? Are you kidding? Both are decent teams. But neither are national championship contenders. Georgia doesn’t have a defense to be a true contender, the offense has shined as usual against a series of really bad defenses, and S. Carolina just doesn’t have enough overall talent to contend nationally.

What are their other options? They have already had two college game days for Florida games this season and they did an Ohio St game last week. That leaves them either the Oregon/Washington game or the UGA/South Carolina game.

I disagree that both South Carolina or Georgia may not deserve a shot at the National Title. It is too early to tell just yet.
In 2004 Auburn had a pretty good team. They had a lot of things to work out. They barely won about 4 games. By the Georgia game they had it together . They demolished a very good Georgia team. The point is a teams talent is determined by if they are getting better every week. Remember every team in America loses kids to graduation and a lot of those stars are replaced by Freshmen and Red Shirt kids . It take them 5 or 6 games to learn all their assignments . The teams that play disciplined ball will be at the top at the end of the year.
The season is determined by skill and luck at the first of the season but as the year go’s on the teams that are the best will be the one’s with the most talent and skill and discipline to play as a team. After this week we will see which team has learned the most after the first six weeks.

TVRADIOGUY,
Before I reach the merits of your post, and in the interest of civility (a cause to which you appear to have a pathological, if somewhat ham-fisted, devotion), I will address you going forward as “TVRadioGuy.” In internet parlance, all-caps is considered screaming, and civilized folk consider screaming rude. I take the time to explain this to you because your name is “TVRadioGuy,” as opposed to, say, “InternetPrintMediaGuy.” So it’s possible that you may simply be ignorant of the prevailing norms of civility. I don’t want to assume anything about you, TVRadioGuy. I wish you had extended that courtesy to me.
Instead, in the service of your evidently self-appointed mission to make us all play nice, you make several assumptions about me. For instance: you call me a complete idiot; you suggest I live in my mother’s basement; you call me hateful; and you suggest I have a pea brain. Perhaps worst of all, you suggest that my comments are “beyond the pale.” Are you familiar with the origins of this phrase, TVRadioGuy? It refers to the part of Ireland that was conquered by England in the Middle Ages. Implicit in the phrase, of course, is the belief that anything beyond England’s rule is uncivilized. My ancestors fought a war to defeat that notion in the 1770’s and 1780’s, TVRadioGuy. Which side of that war did you ancestors fight on? I could certainly guess, based on your evident need to police others’ comments.
Here’s my advice to you, TVRadioGuy: be the change you want to see on this thread. You don’t want people posting comments that you perceive as hateful? Great! Start with yourself: don’t post hateful comments about people that you’ve never met. And please don’t try to justify your hateful words to me by suggested that “[I] started it.” Two wrongs don’t make a right, TVRadioGuy.
One more piece of advice: try to appreciate nuance. My tone was much more lighthearted than that Jemima lady’s. My comment was clearly playful, and I would hope that everyone would’ve spotted that.
And on that note, Mr. Bradley, if you took my words seriously, then I apologize for any offense.
