Mark, your twitter pic and your blog picture gave me the idea that you were in your late 30s, maybe early 40s. However, after watching that video, I have to believe you are closer to 60. I enjoy reading your content, but those pics need to be updated.
October 2nd, 20127:11 pm
Stant Jemima do you really think he cares what you think?
DANG, Mark. How many years old are your head shot and your Twitter avatar?! I understand that aging isn’t fun—I’m shocked at the amount of grey hair that I now have—but isn’t better just to own it? Your grandchildren will thank you.
October 2nd, 20127:46 pm
Schulz and you are too guarded in these video clips. Let it rip a little. Talk about how Georgia has not beaten these highly ranked teams. I am not anti-Bulldog, but the subtext of lack of a signature win is weighing.
Was ‘83 when UGA beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl? I always felt that was one of the proudest performances by a UGA team.

score first and take the crowd out– DONT throw pics and play smart–i.e no stupid personal fouls— and we will come home with a W.

I refuse to have to be submitted to a stup0id 30 second ad before I can watch a video…sorry.

In my humble opinion, turnovers will be the deciding factor in this game. Both teams look great at times, less dominant at others. Georgia will keep it wrapped up and take the game.
October 2nd, 20129:29 pm
Enormity of it all? Nobody outside of Georgia or South Carolina cares who wins this game. Two over ranked teams battling for the right to be Alabama’s MNC warmup game. Very exciting.

GTBob, I agree that this game is totally insignificant. It’s only the #5 and #6 ranked teams in the country. I’m not sure if anyone is even televising the game. I heard they got these two nobody’s to call the call the game, some guys named Kirk and Brent. Put the bath salts down.
October 2nd, 201210:04 pm
Stant Jemima and Ben – you both are complete idiots. Why would you make such hateful comments? Really? Were you beaten up constantly as you were growing up? Never had a school date? Never got married? Living in your mother’s basement – STILL? I ask these questions because I am trying to figure out why 2 people would watch a sports commentary piece and come away feeling like you need to make the comments you made about Mark’s looks/age. What the heck? It’s easy to belittle people from your basement keyboard. Your “hit and run” comments are beyond the pale. They show a disturbing lack of compassion for others. An apology to Mark is certainly in order. But I don’t expect he will get one. You guys have something wrong with you and I suspect most of it has to to do with what you don’t like when you look in the mirror. Thanks for showing the rest of us a little bit of the hate that goes on inside those pea brains of yours.

GTBob, great point!!! Let’s discuss the fine performance vs Middle Tenn St.! Go downstairs-pop tart break is over.
October 2nd, 201210:40 pm
don’t let them raz ya. Just be glad you aren’t a lady, gravity’s a biotch…

GTBob, I agree that this game is totally insignificant. It’s only the #5 and #6 ranked teams in the country.
Lets put it this way. CBS has first pick of any SEC games for the week and they chose LSU/Florida over UGA/South Carolina. That should tell you how much anyone cares about the over inflated rankings that UGA and South Carolina have.
October 2nd, 201211:22 pm
If we (Murray) avoids turnovers (2 or less) UGA WINS…
The D will be fine, they’ll bang up on homeboy from Flowery Branch & he’ll be a shell of himself.
GT BOOB – There are FIVE (5) SEC teams ranked in the Top 10… LSU & UF being 2 of them. Were you aware that the pathetic ACC just had its 10th game in conference HISTORY that matched teams ranked in the Top 10?!?!? THe SEC has 7 – 10 games EVERY year… Quit hating you POS!! Go watch that pitiful embarrassment assemblage of a pathetic excuse ya’ll call a football team, in your high school stadium!! 10 outta 11!!
October 3rd, 201212:28 am
THe SEC has 7 – 10 games EVERY year
Really? Name the 10 games the SEC will have between top 10 teams this year. The only reason the SEC has 5 teams in the top 10 is because nobody in the SEC outside of Bama and LSU plays anyone worth a crap in the first few weeks. Therefore average teams like Florida get a high ranking even though they were only slightly better than Tennessee and Bowling Green.
October 3rd, 201212:33 am
Williams Brice Stadium will have over 85,000 fans with another 20,000 fans outside tailgating, do you realize that that’s more fans at one SEC game than Ga Tech will have for their home attendance all season combined?
October 3rd, 20121:00 am
do you realize that that’s more fans at one SEC game than Ga Tech will have for their home attendance all season combined?
Hmm lets see. 85,000 + 20,000 = 105,000.
Tech’s season attendance so far: 175,563.
You should ask Santa for a calculator for Christmas. Either way, the fact that South Carolina has a lot of fans doesn’t really change anything I said.
October 3rd, 20121:35 am
You need a hobby or something, Bob.
Seriously though, what a great weekend for college football. So many enticing games, we’ll certainly learn a lot about many teams in the national title hunt.

Jemima, Exactly what is the point you are trying to make to Mark or for this story by making such an odd comment about his photo, his age or his responsibility to you, me or any one else regarding his Twitter photo or his AJC feature piece photos? While I am sure it is very easy for you or anyone else to type a crass comment, press enter and then go about your day with no regards to how it makes another person feel, but if you could try to put yourself in the shoes of the other person, in this case Mark who has a family, perhaps children and most certainly friends who read his stories and respect him as a journalist, a friend and as a husband or father. You do not know Mark and you know nothing about his life other than what he writes and lets you know about him. Judging him on his age versus how old you thought he was in childish and in some ways bullying to post such an inane comment. It is none of your business about Mark’s age and unless you are his advisor or agent, is none of your business about his press photos or any other aspect of his professional or personal life. If you came here to read his story or to gather some insight about his knowledge of local sports and how it can benefit you, then so be it. Coming here for useless or potentially hurtful, discriminating comments is childish, classless and thoughtless.

Bradley you look tired…and who is Noah Koslov? Sounds like a hockey player to me. Dawgs win by 6

October 3rd, 20128:35 am
Acutally ESPN gets first pick on TV spots for a couple matchups per year or at least thats what the interwebs told me.
October 3rd, 20128:44 am
Dawgs have a chance for a special year, and we are ALL hoping for it. But at some point, Richt, with ALL the rich talent in this state, all the resources in the world, one of most beautiful campuses in the country……Must deliver a Crystal football …….And although this paper will ease a little around the edges with it, the real fact is Mark is a pretty good coach, but not a great one. This will be year 12.
would love to see one……who knows, after Saturday night, this may be the team…..

Yeah, it is an insignificant game. That is why College Game Day will be in Columbia.
October 3rd, 20129:55 am
I like our chances Saturday. The atmosphere shoudn’t bother the young guys on the team. They have already had that experience at Missouri. Our D is back at full force and if Murray and the O can protect the ball it should be a good. We can’t give cough up the ball or make mistakes like twe did last year with SC. Go Dawgs.
October 3rd, 201210:23 am
Enormity? Are you kidding? Both are decent teams. But neither are national championship contenders. Georgia doesn’t have a defense to be a true contender, the offense has shined as usual against a series of really bad defenses, and S. Carolina just doesn’t have enough overall talent to contend nationally.

I bet after Richt gets a beatdown in Columbia he will have a huge pool party come Sunday morning at the Ramsey Center.

October 3rd, 201211:25 am
Yeah, it is an insignificant game. That is why College Game Day will be in Columbia.
What are their other options? They have already had two college game days for Florida games this season and they did an Ohio St game last week. That leaves them either the Oregon/Washington game or the UGA/South Carolina game.
October 3rd, 201211:29 am
I disagree that both South Carolina or Georgia may not deserve a shot at the National Title. It is too early to tell just yet.
In 2004 Auburn had a pretty good team. They had a lot of things to work out. They barely won about 4 games. By the Georgia game they had it together . They demolished a very good Georgia team. The point is a teams talent is determined by if they are getting better every week. Remember every team in America loses kids to graduation and a lot of those stars are replaced by Freshmen and Red Shirt kids . It take them 5 or 6 games to learn all their assignments . The teams that play disciplined ball will be at the top at the end of the year.
The season is determined by skill and luck at the first of the season but as the year go’s on the teams that are the best will be the one’s with the most talent and skill and discipline to play as a team. After this week we will see which team has learned the most after the first six weeks.

Hearing Michael Bennett tore his ACL in practice yesterday,,,,,,
October 3rd, 201212:09 pm
Enjoy the “enormity of it all” while it lasts. I don’t expect either of these two teams to be ranked in the Top 10 after October 13th.
October 3rd, 201212:20 pm
Spurrier is coming………..
October 3rd, 201212:34 pm
Win this one for Michael Bennet!!!! Keep it going!
October 3rd, 201212:37 pm
GTBob, they could have taken the (8)WVU vs. (11)Texas game, but they didn’t. How about this. If the game is going to be so insignficant, don’t watch it. I don’t think that would bother anyone here.
October 3rd, 20122:10 pm
@Son of Sammy Davis Jr, Jr tell Ol’Steve dinner is served at 7pm and we are having fried chicken, tell him to make sure he comes hungry there will be plenty to go around.
October 3rd, 20122:41 pm
College game day, both team ranked in the top ten in all poles except GTBob’s, 11 of 12, Middle TN, 6 MNC in a row.
Get the point, we all know your are weak and bitter. It kind of makes me smile when I see your posts.
October 3rd, 20122:42 pm
October 3rd, 20122:44 pm
6 MNC in a row
How many of those did UGA and South Carolina win? CBS could have chosen this game but wanted the LSU game more. You know why? Because neither of these teams has any national relevance and no one believes either one will compete for a championship. Sorry but those are the brutal facts.
October 3rd, 20122:45 pm
awaiting moderation? really?
GTBob, they could have taken the (8)WVU vs. (11)Texas game, but they didn’t.
You expect ESPN to select the FOX game of the week for their College Gameday location? Good luck with that.
October 3rd, 20122:47 pm
You are seething with with jealously and hatred of all things UGA. Give it up Boob, it’s making a very small man of you
October 3rd, 20122:50 pm
It sounds like GT got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Middle Tennessee State will do that to a guy.
October 3rd, 20122:51 pm
They could’ve went to Clempson for that *cough* grudge match going on there. Yeah I think there’s a women’s synchronized swim meet taking place
Nah, maybe im a little jealous of Alabama and Oregon. Not so much UGA.
October 3rd, 20122:52 pm
Should be a real barn burner in Clempson this week. Yep, if one cares for swim meets that is
October 3rd, 20122:53 pm
So you hang out on Bama and Oregon blogs too huh? Busy man there Boob. Say, how is life at 2-3 btw?
October 3rd, 20122:54 pm
2-3, no hope, no prayer and no coach. You guys ruin this state
October 3rd, 20123:00 pm
Say, how is life at 2-3 btw?
The season ended that day so life is fine. Time to move on to basketball.
October 3rd, 20123:35 pm
@ GTBob, ok then why did CBS choose the Georgia vs. Tennessee game?
October 3rd, 20123:42 pm
Guess they should’ve shown the Georgia Tech vs. Middle Tennessee State game instead huh GTBob?
October 3rd, 20124:02 pm
What other game were they going to choose? The next best choice was Alabama and Ole Miss. Who in the world would bother watching that? It was pretty much a throw away week for CBS. They didn’t have any good options.
October 3rd, 20124:34 pm
GTBob, you are funny. People get so worked up over your remarks.
October 3rd, 20124:44 pm
GTBob, how do you feel, should Paul Johnson be fired?
October 3rd, 20124:49 pm
No. The past couple of games have been rough but he more than deserves a chance to turn things around. Plus we can’t afford to fire him.
October 3rd, 20124:50 pm
Everybody call me biased if you want, I’d understand, but this is the biggest college football game of the season to this point. It was FSU/CLem before now. There will probably be bigger games later such as UGA/UF (if both are undefeated), Bama/LSU, SEC champ game, etc, etc. We just need to get this one somehow.
October 3rd, 20124:51 pm
But do you think he can turn it around GTBob?
October 3rd, 20125:07 pm
Im not sure. If he ever gets a defense that is not one of the worst in college football then he might. That will take major changes though which im not sure he will make.
October 3rd, 20125:09 pm
Everybody call me biased if you want, I’d understand, but this is the biggest college football game of the season to this point
Yeah, I would say you are pretty biased, and a little delusional.
October 3rd, 20125:22 pm
Hey Mark, start monitoring GTBOB again, he is up to the same old thing. Just an old rabble rouser. He seems to always think his OPINIONs are FACTs.
He only trys to grate on bulldog fans to stir the pot…..i don’t bother cutting down Tech in hopes of aggravating him. because he knows they are bad and it does not bother him for others to cut them down, i just suppose everyone needs a hobby, his is obviously being here on blogs all the time.
Have fun bobby!
October 3rd, 20125:25 pm
In the words of ARdawg, gtbob……your just “turrible”
October 3rd, 20125:54 pm
Let’s hope the offense and defense come together as a team and get
a win for Michael Bennett and DAWG NATION!!!GO DAWGS!!!
October 3rd, 20125:56 pm
Before I reach the merits of your post, and in the interest of civility (a cause to which you appear to have a pathological, if somewhat ham-fisted, devotion), I will address you going forward as “TVRadioGuy.” In internet parlance, all-caps is considered screaming, and civilized folk consider screaming rude. I take the time to explain this to you because your name is “TVRadioGuy,” as opposed to, say, “InternetPrintMediaGuy.” So it’s possible that you may simply be ignorant of the prevailing norms of civility. I don’t want to assume anything about you, TVRadioGuy. I wish you had extended that courtesy to me.
Instead, in the service of your evidently self-appointed mission to make us all play nice, you make several assumptions about me. For instance: you call me a complete idiot; you suggest I live in my mother’s basement; you call me hateful; and you suggest I have a pea brain. Perhaps worst of all, you suggest that my comments are “beyond the pale.” Are you familiar with the origins of this phrase, TVRadioGuy? It refers to the part of Ireland that was conquered by England in the Middle Ages. Implicit in the phrase, of course, is the belief that anything beyond England’s rule is uncivilized. My ancestors fought a war to defeat that notion in the 1770’s and 1780’s, TVRadioGuy. Which side of that war did you ancestors fight on? I could certainly guess, based on your evident need to police others’ comments.
Here’s my advice to you, TVRadioGuy: be the change you want to see on this thread. You don’t want people posting comments that you perceive as hateful? Great! Start with yourself: don’t post hateful comments about people that you’ve never met. And please don’t try to justify your hateful words to me by suggested that “[I] started it.” Two wrongs don’t make a right, TVRadioGuy.
One more piece of advice: try to appreciate nuance. My tone was much more lighthearted than that Jemima lady’s. My comment was clearly playful, and I would hope that everyone would’ve spotted that.
And on that note, Mr. Bradley, if you took my words seriously, then I apologize for any offense.
October 3rd, 20126:32 pm
Nice house Mark !
October 7th, 20127:26 pm
GTBob, you got beat like an army mule saturday by Moo Yoo ,they are below average at best and you talk about relevance.
