Live from Athens: Me, I’m thinking UGA wins easily and calmly

Athens – I can’t imagine Todd Grantham and James Franklin renewing interpersonal hostilities tonight. Such things don’t happen two years running. Did Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz get all huffy over another handshake when the 49ers and Lions met again last Sunday? Nope. Did John Chaney threaten to kill John Calipari more than once? Nope.
I expect this to be a well-mannered game on the part of the coaches, if not necessarily the players. (Young men will, as we know, be young men.) I also expect Georgia to win by at least two touchdowns. I can’t see a team, meaning Vanderbilt, that lost by 11 points at Northwestern two weeks ago coming here and keeping it close.
But I’ve been wrong a time or two, and tonight could be another of those occasions. Vandy could win. Franklin and Grantham could trade bon mots, or something approximating them, at 10 paces afterward. Whatever happens, I’ll be here to watch, and I’d appreciate your company. I thank you in advance.

Totally agree. SC, Georgia, and Florida are all very good. I still give Georgia the edge at this time….but obviously SC played well today and has a great defense. All three teams have that…great defenses. Georgia….I rank ahead….because the offense has the edge at the moment.

on the “Mort Report” Chris Mortensen said that Murry was the most impressive QB at the Manning Passing Camp this year and all the top talent was there including the QB’s from USC and Arky (Driskel was not there Muschamp was not sure if he was the best QB at Fla yet)

Florida’s offense is nowhere near as good as the Dawgs. I will give them the edge on defense at the moment. But we will know more about the Dawgs defense next with with the return of the All-Americans.
