Few months ago read a book about King Kelly Coleman. I realize he was before your time, but he seems like quite a character, in addition to being a scoring machine and a Kentucky high school legend. Any thoughts on how you think he would have fared playing for the Baron, since he apparently liked to do his own thing, on and off the court.

I wonder if UGA loses a few player if the numbers become an issue. Will freshmen RB’s do well on the road? Will Murrey continue to make big mistakes in key games?

WOW, an Atlanta sports guy saying Tech is winning the coastal (besides the fact being owned by VT) and having the Bulldogs in the NCG, man who could have ever imagined a guy who covers the Georgia teams saying things like that and then calling himself a homer, NAH couldn’t be…..Georgia could win the East but the only bad thing is they would have to play the West champ and we all know that don’t bold well for UGA……

Mark, you’re a homer. That’s alright, but you’re wrong on Tech, probably wrong about the Falcons, and as far as Georgia, it’ll be the Dawgs defeating LSU in the SEC Championship game and then playing Mulligan U in the MNC game. ;)

Mark, Mark, just because you are in Atlanta, you don’t have to pick Ga Tech. We can all read right through it. No way on earth that Ga Tech wins the Coastal. As far as the Univ of Ga goes, well, yes they should win the East and then the SEC. The Univ of Ga has so much talent and experience, they should win all of their games easily.

I like your predictions, but because our two State teams play each other in

Wait a minute, didn’t this just happen last year between the two Bama teams, and

GT will go 4-4 in the ACC Coastal losing to VT, Clemson, Virginia, and UNC. UGA will lose to SC in the last minute and be upset by Florida costing them the SEC East title. UGA is flat against Tech leaving them 9-3 while GT finishes 8-4 saving CPJ’s job for another year. UGA goes to the Capital One Bowl while GT ends up in Nashville. In 2013 Mark Bradely picks UGA to go 12-0 and Tech to go 11-1 while picking his mega million numbers.

“Never understood Dawg and Jacket people cheering against each other”

You must not know very many Tech fans. Good for you.

“What could be better than an undefeated UGA beating an undefeated GT?”

Well, I guess that would be pretty interesting, but its also entirely unrealistic and will never happen in a million freaking years so I don’t waste my time thinking about it.

The truth is that the gap between UGA and Georgia Tech has never been wider than it is right now as far as I can tell. Tech has one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. If they played in a better conference with better offenses it would be even worse. They are awful. Two years in a row now Aaron Murray has sat back in the pocket and picked them apart like he was playing a video game and they haven’t done a damn thing about it. We’ve barely even had to run the ball. As for their offense, its good at what it does and should be respected for that, but it obviously has serious limitations. The evidence is becoming overwhelming that when faced with a quality defensive front it sputters. That’s exactly what UGA has now. We’ve got monsters on the d-line that are quicker and faster than Tech’s undersized linemen. We go 2 and 3 deep at linebacker with guys that would be first team All-ACC if they played in that crap league.

If you’ll notice, Tech fans very rarely want to talk about the UGA game anymore. They know what I say is true. They’ll talk anything and everything about UGA except that last Saturday in November when their team has to play us. Its the boogie man in the closet that keeps them up at night. They think if they ignore it it will just go away. It won’t Techies. Better go grab your blankie.

Good day.

I think my Dawgs are a little overrated but it should be a fun season. I say 10-2. If you want me to pick the losses I say South Carolina and Florida. That may be good enough to get us the SECCG where hopefully we’ll put on a little better showing than last year. We’ll close the regular season out with another double digit pounding of the nerds.

Truth is, the gap between UGA and Tech has never been wider than it is right now. We’ve got the horses on defense to cause some serious problems for their limited offense and their defense is a total disaster. More than anything though, I think we’re back in their heads again. They really don’t believe they can beat us anymore. They would be correct.

Thanks.

4 other SEC teams have won a combined 7 national championships during Richt’s tenure but Mark Bradley is determined to once again falsely proclaim Richt’s Georgia team as the “standard bearers of the SEC”.

I suspect this season could be a replay of the 2008 season, where Bradley’s preseason prediction waved Georgia past Alabama in what turned out to be the infamous Blackout Game beatdown in Athens. His biggest concern going into that game was that Georgia had been dropped from #1 to #3 in the national rankings and that they might get shut out of the national championship game even if they went undefeated as expected. After the debacle against Alabama, Bradley jumped off the bandwagon but finally jumped back on just before the Florida game, when Georgia got slaughtered again.

But never mind all that, Bradley will always have a new prediction of pending greatness for the Dawgs!

Tech Engineer

August 15th, 2012

Tech wins 7. Georgia wins 11.Tech could win 8 or 9 if the defense is greatly improved. Richt scheduled Ga. Southern the week before playing Tech to have more practice against the triple option. He also recruited huge defensive linemen to stop the option. He’s knows he has to focus on beating Tech to keep his job,. He’s safe for another year.

I hope UGA can meet Bama in the SECCG for Bama will beat the living sheet out of you! The good news though is the UGA fans will see just how far away from being a real champ is for your program. UGA couldn’t stay within 20 point of Alabama. Keep dreaming.

Granted Georgia once again got a break no Bama,LSU or Ark amazing. Did I mention no RB either, you are completely discounting South Carolina and the fact that the Dawgs under CMR always and I do mean always trip when they shouldn’t. Beware of trips to Columbia Mo,Nashville, and a little place by the name of Jacksonville Florida. And should your beloved Dawgs win the East they will once again have their head handed to them by either Alabama or LSU.

Nobody seems to notice that Bradley made an equally outlandish prediction regarding Tech. Either that or nobody freaking cares. Tech fans are laying low so later when they win 7 or 8 games they can claim that was a tremendous accomplishment because “everyone” was predicting them to win 3 games. That’s my favorite line of absolute crap that they come up with. Tech fans love to play the David v. Goliath card to try and pump up their otherwise mediocre results on the football field. The reality is that they are consistently in or hovering right around the preseason top 25 every single year. They’ve been NATIONALLY RANKED the week before the UGA game 2 of the past 3 years. Yet, after everything goes south its a miracle that Tech is even able to field a football team to hear the typical Tech fan tell it. Even showing up to the games is a noteworthy accomplishment because those management classes are sooooo hard and Tech can’t compete with the “football factories.” Well guess what clowns? The media thinks you can compete with the football factories. Maybe its high time you started proving it instead of making excuses. Don’t go around running your mouth about failing to live up to expectations until your team has proven it can live up to its own expectations. That’s the pot calling the kettle black.

Thanks.

UGA will go 9-3: Dawgs lose two of four against SEC opponents Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn and then drop one of the last two to Southern orTech.

GT will go between 7-5 and 9-3: Jackets will lose to VT (yeah, they’re really going to stop that 260 pound quarterback with two LBs out), Miami (becoming a new tradition since PJ came along), and then another opponent they shouldn’t lose to (probably Virginia, BYU, or UNC). Would you say that the talent level that UGA gets on a regular basis is equal to the talent that GT gets on a regular basis? Would you say that it is even possible for GT to get the level of talent that UGA gets? There is always going to be a massive difference in talent in those football games. Sometimes we will overcome it, usually we wont. That’s just how it is.

“Would you say that the talent level that UGA gets on a regular basis is equal to the talent that GT gets on a regular basis?”

Of course not. We’re not fighting off Middle Tennessee State and UAB for most of our recruits like you are. Thank goodness too. We would be completely irrelevant with talent like that. We might as well make a move to the ACC.

“Would you say that it is even possible for GT to get the level of talent that UGA gets?”

I would say that I really hope not. I hate Tech and I hope you lose every game you play in, so why would I want you to do well in recruiting? I would also say that I could give flying rat’s butt if its not even possible for you to get the same level of talent that UGA gets. That’s your problem and no one elses. Are we supposed to feel sorry for you Techie? Do you need your mommy?

“There is always going to be a massive difference in talent in those football games.”

I agree. That’s because Georgia Tech football has no real serious commitment to success. It never has. Its a half azzed program more content with making excuses and winning 8 games per year. You geniuses whine about a lack of talent but hire a coach that very few talented players want to play for. Brilliant move Techies!!!! Once again, I guess we’re supposed to feel sorry for you? Not happening. Every time you lose I LMAO. No symptathy here. Maybe your mommy will provide a shoulder to cry on.

Tech fans are riot.

Mark get’s paid for writing an opinion and getting you to put 4 quarters in the green box or log on here and visit. There is another dept, in the AJC building that goes to say “Nalley Auto Group” corp. HQ and say’s, give us 7,000 for running ads on line and in our print edition for us to see. They do it. Mark gets a paycheck out of that, pretty simple. Now, he won’t get fired or demoted or have his pay cut if none of this ( predictions) happens. He writes a retraction week 10 and we all read it and Nalley spends another 7,000…. Got it.

That’s because Georgia Tech football has no real serious commitment to success. It never has.

For once we will agree. GT will never ever place as much importance on football as the factories in the southeast. Most GT fans wouldn’t even want them to. GT is a strong academic institution that also happens to have a football team. Will we ever be world beaters? No. But the necessary changes that would be needed to get there wouldn’t even be close to worth it.

So.......

I’m really not sure how UGA wins over LSU or Alabama. Every year we have you and other AJC sports writers writing about the same thing and every year you and the other clowns look like morons.

There are many that care. Overall its pretty hard to argue that the institution and the majority of its students and alumni are all that worried about the results of the football team though. If football was discontinued at GT, the institution wouldn’t change much. What do you think would happen if the same happened at UGA?

GT Bob, please explain to me how a good football team would in any way diminish the quality of education at Tech. This is the most laughably ridiculous argument that I have ever heard in my life. I’ve said this before. Sure, there are guys on UGA’s football team that probably wouldn’t be in school there if they didn’t play football. For the sake of argument, let’s say ALL of them (not true of course). That’s around 100 students. There are 30,000+ students at UGA. How in the good holy hell do those 100 football players have anything to do with the education of the remaining 29,900 students? It only means that our Saturdays in the Fall are a hell of a lot more fun than yours are. That’s it. So if Georgia Tech lets in a few football players that couldn’t get in otherwise (which it already freaking does), how does that effect the Korean dude that I always see walking down 10th Street everyday whose probably getting his third Phd. in astro physics? It doesn’t. Its just an absurd crybaby excuse. And don’t give me any crap about how a History of Science and Technology degree is anything that the vast majority of D-1 football players couldn’t handle with the army of academic support that Georgia Tech football players have at their disposal. Its a myth, crutch, excuse and, worst of all, a lie.

Good day sir.

“Beating a 7-5 Tech team means little….”

Beating an 11 win Tech team means little. See 2009. We fired several coaches immediately thereafter and had a losing season in 2010. Georgia Tech’s record will have absolutely no bearing on anything until it is playing in a real football league. Until then, they can go 0-12 every year for all I care. I hope they do.

“What do you think would happen if the same happened at UGA?”

Why don’t you tell us? You’re the one talking out of your butt about how we put football over academics. The burden is on you to back it up. So tell us GTBob, what would happen if we dropped football? Would we lose all of our US News and World Report rankings? Would we be overrun with rednecks that cannot read or write and live in trailers? I thought that was already the case according to you Tech fans? So what would happen GTBob?

Everybody grab some popcorn. This ought to be good. GTBob is on fire.

I’m so glad you asked. You would have significantly less students applying for admission, and the entire town would lose tons of revenue from game day visitors. Donations to the UGA student fund would decrease and your endowment would become even more of an embarrassment then it is now. Student and Faculty morale would decline because of the loss of the school’s one meaningful endeavor. All of this would cause a declines in nation academic rankings, and in granted research money. Do I really need to go on?

A bad football player who was your starting QB for 4 years. A bad football player “who never should have been admitted to the institute” but somehow found a way to remain eligible for almost his entire career. He couldn’t count to 4 but was only a few final exams away from obtaining a degree from “The Institute.” Go figure. He was kicked out because he failed to show up for exams after his football career was over and done with. So much for the “well rounded student-athlete” we hear so much about out of Tech fans. It wasn’t because the school work was too difficult for him to handle, as much as you would like everyone to believe that.

Keep living the myth GTBob.

Nope, I don’t care to. It is obviously my opinion of what would happen. If you don’t believe that dropping football would hurt UGA financially, or would lead to some decrease in student applications then more power to you. You can add that to your list of fantasies, like your never ending expectation of a National Championship.

REALLY? REALLY? First of all Tech has no chance to win the coastal division.Fact…. Realistically UGA has to get past Mizzou. IF That happens I truly belive that this teaam finds their way. Including hanging 40 or more on the gamecocks and winning by 10 or more in that game. Remembering they gave them 28 points lasr year in Athens. That issue has been resolved by way of Crowell is no longer chargex with the task of blocking or olaying I should say. From there on they take care of the work they have in front of them. YUUP

You’re pretty shortsighted on this issue, dawgfan. Any real dawgfan (or, for that matter, any real fan of any team) will tell you it means a whole lot more to your own team to beat a highly ranked opponent than an unranked one. I always pull for the opponents of my teams until they play my teams. I’d much rather play (and beat) a worthy opponent than a half-azzed one; that’s how you earn respect–and playing crap opponents is how you lose respect.
