Bulldog Nation -- at least a portion of it -- gathers in anticipation. (Photo by M. Bradley)
Athens — Here we are at Butts-Mehre, sometimes known as Dawg Mahal, and you can cut the tension with a … well, you know. It’s Signing Day, and the biggest undecided name in Georgia’s sights is about to pledge his troth. (Or, to use a more contemporary image, don some school’s baseball cap.)
And Josh Harvey-Clemons, the linebacker from Lowndes, picked …
Georgia.
For the record, Harvey-Clemons did not do the now-tiresome hat trick. Instead he allowed his younger sister to take off one sweatshirt to reveal a red Georgia shirt underneath. Style points!
And that, you’d have to think, would ease the doubt some Bulldog fans had over this class not being ranked as highly — at least not by Rivals and Scout — as last season’s. Harvey-Clemons gives Georgia the No. 1 player (at least in somebody’s ratings) in four different states.
UPDATE: As of 3:07 p.m., Georgia hasn’t received Harvey-Clemons’ signed letter of intent. Which means he isn’t officially a Bulldog yet. Asked about the holdup, recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner said an hour ago: “Sometimes you have to wait.”

“Auburn set a record in 2011 with over 80 fulmer cup points, auburn has lost to georgia 5 out of last 6 games. Last years Mauling 45-7 .”
And UGA once again loses a bowl game, gets destroyed in the SEC Champ game. Same song, different year.

As shown in the last 2 bowl games, until you get a real good QB, the championships won’t be won.

He will be a junior next year and I expect much better play.
He actually has played pretty well his entire career given the fact he was thrown into the job as a RS Freshman.
He just needs to take better care of the ball in big games. If he does that everything else should be fine.
Sometimes young players have to learn the hard way to throw it out of bounds and move on to the next play.

Mark — any other signing possibilities other than Avery Young? What about the OL that was a GT commit that UGA offered late? Any JC possibilities?

Ace, I disagree, I believe our problem was more, that we couldn’t run the ball, when you have to throw the ball, all the time, the defense just plays the pass, and your more likely to have turnovers. Also, some of those turnovers were tipped balls, which cannot be blamed on Aaron.

Too bad for him he will labor on a 2nd rate mediocre team. CMR can’t coach em up. He snoozes and talks religious nonsense to the idiots who listen to him. The UGA Settlers says it all. Outback Bowl is considered the culmination of a super successful season. We lost the bowl game? Never mind, we played hard, represented and that’s all that matters. Loserville. The Georgia Settlers!

If UGA hadn’t lost Chester Brown (I think that’s the name) and landed the OL out of Floriday who’s announces later today, this would have been a pretty good class overall. At this point, it’s still a little short on offensive linemen for me.
But there have been some real quality recruits so far. Hope they work hard to be successful on and off the field.

UGA usually finishes in the Top 10 in recruiting and more times than not they have finished in the top 10 in the polls under Richt.
The myth that UGA gets all these players and then does nothing with them is just that.. a myth.
It goes back to the Spurrier days and Ray Goff ( when there was a disconnect between talent and record ) but Goff hasn’t been the coach in a long time.

That’s a bit strange, huh, Mark? The rating services rate nearly every UGA/Richt target, pretty highly, right?
So, the rating services agree with Richt’s evaluations, but they are “overrated?”

This 2012 troll really ought to find a life. Along with all the Bama, Tech, UF and Auburn people infesting this blog with their useless drivel. Get a life, support your program, quit trying to make yourself feel better by trying to bring others down in a blog.
Looks like another great class for Richt and the Dawgs. I still believe the Dawgs are two years away from winning a NC. I think they get close this year, and in Murray’s senior year they get it done.

@GTBob – You really should think twice before trying to use your perception of a UGA coach to talk down to others. Because, I’m pretty sure you don’t want to be compared to the arrogant, foul mouthed and general a-hole Coach Paul Johnson.
You should read my previous post and take that advice to heart. Get a life, quit obsessing over UGA.
