Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: They rose from 6-7 to 8-4, but losing four of the final six games took the edge off the turnaround. That said, Tech did beat a team that is gracing a BCS bowl, and it is scheduled to return just about everyone of consequence. But the schedule will be tougher next season: Virginia Tech, Clemson and Georgia must all be faced on the road. 2011 Heat Index: The one-season slide was arrested, which was the main objective. 2012 Hotness Outlook: A better team facing a worse schedule should produce a similar record, give or take a game.

First you say a tougher schedule then you say they face a worse schedule. Typical writing by bradely.

That pretty well sums up the reality of the UGA program. Chalk it up to Mark “I can win games – just not the big games” Richt and his sidekick Booboo. Well, they did get a lot of help from Murray the Midget to once more under-achieve. UGA – home of the occasional ten win season, but no titles. A proud tradition since 1980.

Stop crying about us beating u. I know its tearing you up inside and you dont know what to do, so you come on here and look like an idiot. Its getting sad really. We almost feel bad for you, you are clearly in a lot of pain from the loss. Dont worry youll get used to it eventually when we beat you like a drum for the next 5 years. Georgia Southern football. Somewhat disappointing season, having made the semifinals of the NCAA playoffs where they lost big to North Dakota State. Cold end to a hot season. Outlook for 2012, fairly sizzling again, as Jeff Monken’s Eagles look to wash the final game of 2011 out of their mouths.

The debate will rage until next September whether Georgia got really good again or just benefited from a bunny schedule.

0-3 this year against teams that ended the season ranked. If they were good then they would have won at least one of those games and would not have been blown out in two of them.

Mascot’s Review: The campus is cleaner now with many tons less trash left by the fans on game day. The coeds seem to be adjusting well to the etiquette curriculum with much less slobbering and drooling on game day. The running backs remain a mess. The coaches beat some sorry teams (can you say, Coastal Carolina?) and look to make millions. I have no shot at a permanent position. Crowell has a better shot than me at staying on the job.

the pups schedule is even more of a joke next year than this years. Buffalo, ga southernn, fl atlantic, and tech. what a joke. Assuming they flip mizz with bama the pups will once again lose to the best two teams they play (USC, and AU) and will lose to the mighty gators for a 9-3 record. They will continue the 5 plus year search for a meaningful victory.

GT was supposed to be awful this year. A lot of experts picked GT to not make a bowl game, and the vegas over/under for wins was 6. They overachieved. UGA on the other hand, did what pretty much everyone expected, which was beat the bad teams, and lose to the good teams.

I think while Richt was studying his “Cutting Edge Football” book he skipped Chapter One that would have explained to him that a college football game consists of sixty minutes. However, I guess UGA probably counts that as a “moral victory” now. I keep looking in the SEC stats each week and all I see is a won/lost summary. They have not included a “moral victory” column in their stats yet.

So bitter arent you. Cant stand that Florida is in the sewer while UGA is on the rise. Its ok little man, who knows if Muschump stops lying to recruits you may actually get some good ones and turn it around hahahahahahahhaa (almost couldnt even type that out sarcastically).

Its ok we know that LSU dominated you guys all game long just like the dominated Bamas putrid offense.

Hines Ward, Champ Bailey, Matthew Stafford (Who is the only reason Calvin has great seasons No QB no receptions, check stats before he was there to now retard), Terrell Davis, Thomas Davis, Boss Bailey, Stinchcomb, Richard Seymour, David Pullack (if not for breaking his neck), Ellerbee in a few years will take over for Rey Lewis, shall I continue???

All I know is Bama has competed in the REAL part of the SEC, the west and still managed to place nationally better than UGA has the past 4 years. No one cares that youll be in the SEC championship again, youll just lose to an even BETTER LSU team and wind right back where you started. You cant compete the west, that simple.

Cant compete with the West??? Give it a rest. LSU is hands down best team in the SEC and is already the NC in everyones eyes (except Bama homers). But like them we are very young and will only get better. Have you seen the talent that we have in young players alone?? My goodness We have 4-5 players on D that could have played and started most other places that got redshirted or limited playing time this year, so only improving there. Our offense with crowell, mitchell, conley, jay rome (redshirted number one HS TE in Country last year, also playing bball), Marshall and Theus coming in, wesley- scott another redshirt WR (Faster than Mitchell) all sophmores or younger.

So I think we will be fine. Hate to have to face UGA these next couple of years.

@ DawgHunt – I don’t deny tha we’ve struggled on the football fieldt. I expect to be better going forward but we’ll see. I’m not going to try and compare GSU to UGA/GT as that’s insane. But we’re a long term project that hopefully will take a good step forward in this offseason. I’m here to discuss basketball. Since Bradley decided to throw it in his article I felt it was fair game. I forgot the board is monitored by football obsessed posters. Go enjoy Coach Fox’s brand of basketball. He’s a real quality coach.

No one thinks that your opinion is a worth a wet fart little boy. Whether you like it or not the outback, capital one and cotton bowl are all on the same lvl as top tier bowls.

One would think that after losing 10 or 11 to muttville and and going something like 15-40 vs. muttville since the late 50s, that GT fans would shut their friggin’ pieholes & stop embarrassing the school.

This yr, in 2011 uga played the 27th toughest schedule while GT/Drad/Coach Kung Fu Panda played the 71st toughest schedule (Sagarin-USA Today SoS Rankings).

The last 2 season GT is 14-11 vs the 69th & 71st toughest schedules, GT is in free fall mode, IF GT every starts playing Schedules ranked in the mids 30s to mid 40s like Chan used to play we’ll be a 6-6 or 7-5 or 5-7 team even with CPJ’s Offensive Genius.

It is unfair to compare CPJ to CCG, instead compare CPJ with CHAN’S RECRUITS to CPJ WITHOUT Chan’s recruits and you’ll see a huge gap, that will only get wider as CPJ continues to recruit poorly at GT.

In CPJ’s first 2 season his Teams that were Recruited by Chan had 4-6 NFL Guys on EACH side of the ball, now with HIS PLAYERS filling the depth chart we are lucky to have ONE NFL player on each side of the ball.

I am amazed that the GT Fanbase is refusing to recognize what is happening to GT FB, many GT fans are n complete DENIAL based on some blowout wins vs. crappy Teams like W-Carolina..

We should improve our own FB program before we talk trash to a program that has dominated us for the last 50 YEARS!

If you had watched the game you would know. We came out very strong and had them on the ropes, they couldnt find any holes bc we were clogging them up and no recievers were open or defense flat out owned them.

How many times do I have to go over the second half of the game with you? Just go back and look at their starting field positions. 2 non offensive TDS during the game brings them down to 28, murrays fumble inside the 20 was another quick score so down to 21 already.

True Dawg Fan, there is actually a systematic way that the Cotton Bowl and Outback Bowl are decided. I figured you might know that but whatever, nothing wrong with learning from others. Either way, picking the 4th best team from a conference or the 5th best team from a conference means that your bowl game is one sad game that no one cares about. If you end up with the 5th place team like the Outback bowl always does then it’s even more sad. Congrats on being the first 10 win team to play in this game in a while. Shows the high respect for UGA.

The ranking in the conferences for how they select the teams isnt the same every year dummy. It all depends on how many teams from each AQ school get into the BCS. SEC got 2 this year and therefore the next 3 best teams get the top non BCS bowls for the SEC. Which are the capital one bowl which picks first they dont have to pick the 3rd best team in conf in terms of record as it showed when they pick SC over UGA and Arky. Then the outback bowl and cotton bowl get to pick together between what they feel are the 2 best available teams for the SEC. All three making up part of the top tier of Non BCS games.

So saying that there hasnt been a ten game winner in this game in a while isnt an insult. it just means that there were a lot of SEC teams with 10 wins.

So once again you are wrong, anything else?

GTBob. The Outback bowl is picked by every major publication to be one of the top 10 bowl games of this season. Michigan State is very good, they even beat the Big 10 champs. UGA will have their hands full but should pull out a win in a great game. If you were a fan of football and not just a perpetual agitator, you’d understand this.

I caught a GT co-worker bragging about his football team and I reminded him that his team sucks. He changed the subject and tried to act like football was not important to him.

Later he sent out an email with one of his off-the-wall ideas. I replied to all with a correction on his spelling and grammar.

I gave him a Bama hat for Christmas. When he asked why I would give him a Bama hat, I replied, “So that when we argue football, you will have some semblance of credibility.”

I also make more money than he does doing the same job with less time on the job. That really burns his chaps. The CEO thinks he’s a complainer and trouble maker.

We have been over this 5 times now retard last chance for you to get it.

The teams vary every year for the bowl. The past 3 year were down years and not many teams to fill the slots. This year there are 5 10 win teams in the SEC so the top 4 bowls that are allowed to pick SEC get all 5 with LSU and Bama playing against each other.

So the three top SEC teams left go to Capital one, outback and cotton. All recognized as top tier bowls. Sucks to be retard.

lol. Ah the SEC has been down the past 3 years. How about the 7 years before that? The SEC has not had a 10 win team in this game in the last 10 years. It’s a middle of the road bowl game for the conference. Your desperation in trying to convince people that it’s an elite bowl game is getting pathetic. @SSI Gator: You have a lot to say about UGa’s problems and I must say it’s hard at times to disagree with your comments. But aren’t your worrying about the wrong team? How ’bout them Gators, dude?! Muschamp is clearly in over his head with no OC to coach UF’s toothless offense. Weis got the hell out of dodge and it appears no worthwhile OC wants to work for Muschamp, who showed everyone through numerous foul-mouthed sideline tirades he was not ready for the pressure of being head coach at Florida. His defense performed admirably, but UF’s impotent offense will ultimately cost him his job in less than two more seasons if he doesn’t get it fixed asap. The Swamp was dead in UF’s final game vs. FSU, as was both offenses in a very, very, very boring game, and there were a lot of empty of empty seats in the stands. Will Muschamp should be very afraid because Ron Zook went 8-5 during his first year at UF, then 8-5 the second year, before his termination midway into his third season in 2004. So SSI Gator, you need to be blogging your butt off at the Times-Union with your fellow Gators son ! And try to help them figure out who the new OC is gonna be for next season. Then after that you guys need to try to figure out who the next head coach for the Gators is going to be for 2014, because Foley is going to run CWM out Gainesville as sure as the world!! LOL ! The hotseat is on for poor ol’ Muschamp in 2012, and he will be a lame duck before the end of 2013 if Foley sticks to his script. Personally, I don’t give a flip about the two early losses. Nor do I care what happened, when UGA lost to LSU.
My thinking is always about when UGA makes mincemeat out of GT!

Looking back to the ’90’s, I recall UGA won four and then lost two. Then, won seven and lost one. After that, it’s been five straight, so the insects can only hope to find a way to beat the DAWGS on a regular basis and, seeing the history, ‘twixt the two, it’s obvious they ain’t gonna do it!

It’s the mark of a menial person that the only way they can make themselves or their team look good is to attempt to bad mouth someone else’s team. Soon Gator fans will realize what Georgia fans have had to learn -there are no more Herschel’s – there are no more Tebows. Florida had a great run – it’s over. Georgia is poised to be the East favorite for the next few years. SC has lost their RB coach and their great D coach – Spurrier is old – look for them to start losing ground soon. The only question for UGA is not can we win the East, but can we win it all.

GA’s schedule was 99% the reason why you PRESUME they got better.

Sorry the truth hurts, but facts is facts, and GA’s 2011 SEC schedule is arguably the weakest in the history of the league.

Right on regarding GT … 31 of their top 44 on the O & D 2-deeps in 2011 were Soph or younger. They will be better in 2012, but the overwhelming majority of the good teams on the schedule are on the road. Clemson, VT, UNC, and GA (Miami & UVA are home games).

GA will probably win the East again in 2012 b/c the schedule will again be a joke (UT, UF, UK, Vandy, Ole Miss, Mizzo instead of Bama) will be easy wins. SC should be their toughest game again in 2012, followed by GT which means it really is a weak schedule. They’ll get killed in the SEC champ game again by either Bama, Ark, or LSU (I’m predicting it to be Ark in 2012).

For SSI Gator and all of the other Dawgs haters out there:

1. Georgia is about to have a run that will make you ill. A 12-0 regular season next year is not only possible, but likely.

2. Richt ain’t going anywhere.

3. Grantham’s staying put too. And Jarvis Jones. Too bad for you.

4. Tech will be mediocre again. Easiest prediction of the year. CPJ makes the most of his talent–but there simply isn’t that much talent.

5. Florida is about to enter a phase of suckdom not seen since the Ron Zook era. In fact, it may be worse than that. The Swamp’s about to dry up, gators. Get used to being angry. Blame Muschamp, blame God or the devil, blame Richt. It doesn’t really matter–you’re simply going to be a bad football team. Tebow’s gone, and he ain’t coming back.

6. South Carolina will win an 11th game for the first time EVER this season after beating Nebraska. And next season, Lattimore will be back, and Clowney will be back, and Spurrier will be mouthing off like nobody’s business at the SEC media days…and the Gamecocks will lose to Georgia next year in Columbia, thereby rendering all of that offseason strutting about irrelevant.

Must be great to be a Gamecock fan.

6. Georgia Southern has a nice little program. Should be a great pre-Tech scrimmage for Georgia next year. Kudos to McGarity for that little bit of scheduling genius. Starters out by halftime.

7. LSU will be preseason #1. Second easiest prediction of the year.

8. Georgia will meet LSU in the SECCG next season with both being top 5 teams. Winner plays for the BCS title. Mettenberger for LSU starts against his friend and former teammate Murray for Georgia. Great drama. Only this time, the Dawgs win. Bank on it.

9. Missouri will lose its first contest in the SEC, at home.

10. Tech’s record against Mark Richt will fall to 1-11 next year. Renegade Tech students from Pakistan conspire to blow up Sanford stadium–and are thwarted in their efforts because of a fundamental lack of comprehension of U.S. geography. Meanwhile, in Palo Alto, California, officials at Stanford University are puzzled by the explosion of a Ford Pinto outside the football stadium.

How many years will it take for CMR to win a MNC? 15? 20? Should we be happy with 10 win seasons and then get totally out-classed against good teams? Is beating Tech each year good enough to offset losing to Florida most years? Every year (virtually) our fans are saying this is the year that we will win it all. Yet, it never seems to happen. It’s not the quality of our recruits, facilities, attendance, revenues or costs! So what is it? Yes, that’s right… it’s the one thing that is constant… the coaching.
