The channel I'm watching, alas, is NOT truTV. (Photography and pedicure by M. Bradley)
Charlotte — Welcome to our third annual live chat off the Thursday afternoon NCAA tournament games. The first two years weren’t without controversy. In 2009 you folks made fun of my TV. Last year the Milwaukee Hyatt impelled me to relocate to Major Goolsby, a sports bar across the street, by delivering the sobering news that it did not offer room service for lunch.
(For breakfast, yes. For dinner, yes. Just not for lunch. Are you kidding me?)
But I digress. And now I move to this year’s issue: Of the 65 channels available on the wide-screen TV here at the Civic Center Marriott, truTV isn’t among them. I confess that I’d never heard of truTV until it came a carrier of NCAA games, but now I know what it is. And it’s not here. So I’m going to miss those games today.
My life: Drama untold.
And here we are again. I’m pretty sure the Marriott offers at least a tuna sandwich if not truTV, so I should be OK. For early games we’ve got Clemson-West Virginia, Butler-Old Dominion (though I won’t see it), Louisville-Morehead State and Temple-Penn State. Those are pretty good games, you’ll have to concede. And I’ll try my best to offer semi-cogent commentary until around 4 p.m., at which time I need to head for the arena for Washington’s media availability.
Thanks to all who entered Bradley’s Bracket Fiasco. (Entries are closed.) Thanks to all who dare to hang with me this afternoon. And away, as the Great One would say, we go.

8 points for you MB? Really? And this is what you do for a living?
Isn’t that like a stock analyst picking a stock that tanks 50%

MB you need to stop with this Mooney guy and jump on Donnie Tyndall, the guy can coach. A lot of people had the Cards advancing, and now they are one and done! Mooney couldn’t even beat are team in December. Tech needs this coach. Guess the winner of Morehead/Richmond gets the Tech job.

wow big surprise, a quote from former GT player Drew Barry on who ought to coach at GT:
(I think that’s all overrated,” Barry said. “[Price] has played at every level and been highly successful. If you don’t think he doesn’t know basketball and can’t teach it, you’re crazy. Coaching is all about knowing the game and getting the maximum about every players you have.
“I’ve trained with Mark, I know he’s capable of doing that. I’ve worked out with Craig Neal, I know he’s capable of doing that. You can’t go wrong in hiring people like that.”)
thank you a Drew Barry for your comments, how some of you think that you have to start at Grad Assistant and work your way up is how it is, it may be if you are the 3rd string walk on or the water boy. But how any of you GT people could think Price isn’t qualified is beyond me. I guess you same people would tell Larry Byrd the same thing had he called a few years back that he must start at grad assistant. ha
