Another no-show for UGA’s Caleb King, who’s a bowl no-go

Caleb King won’t play in the Liberty Bowl due to academic concerns, which means the Georgia tailback will complete 2010 having missed five games three different ways — two with an injury, two more due to suspension for failing to appear in court regarding a speeding ticket and now this latest suspension, incurred for missing at least five “academic-related appointments.”

Caleb King, it would seem, isn’t particularly skilled at showing up. He needs to remedy that. Because it’s clear even the endless patience of Mark Richt is nearing its end. Speaking of King, Richt told reporters in Memphis on Sunday: “We’ve played some games without him before, and we’ll do it again.”

It’s not as if King has been indispensable: He has had two 100-yard rushing games in three seasons. The first was his 166-yard showing against Georgia Tech in 2009 on a night when Washaun Ealey gained 183. This season King gained 100 yards at Colorado on a night that will be remember for his strange spin-around fumble at game’s end.

It has been a while now since King caused a stir by leaving Parkview High to play his senior season at Greater Atlanta Christian. He was a big deal then — the No. 1 player in Georgia who was bound for UGA. He hasn’t been nearly as big a deal since, and his time’s almost up. He’ll turn 23 next month. He needs to start showing up.

SOOOOOOOOO glad I’m not a dog fan. Almost feel sorry for the following AH’s who have not only been forced to swallow more than their pride but also seem to have taken their little sacks and disappeared. Hahahahaha.

The new colors/uniforms look sloppy and we play sloppy.
Can we go back to the silver britches and red (not orange) and black?

I could give a damn less what the uniforms look like, as long as the cameras get more shots of UGA backs and receivers standing in the end zone!!! Murray will be the read deal for three more years. King is done. Dump his worthless carcass at the nearest Wal-Marrt and let him apply for a job as a greeter.

[...] was nothing short of a disappointment. He missed five games, three of them coming because he was academically ineligible or suspended. Like last year, Washaun Ealey showed that he was capable of carrying the load. [...]

And some of you guys think you’ll challenge for a conference title next year ???????………..excuse me while I laugh my a$$ off. Your main man Green couldn’t catch the ball for all the $$$$ signs in his eyes……he’s good as gone to the NFL. The QB , probably the best in the conference next year, will be forced to run a one-man-show. Washoff Easy, the 23 year old Soph is a cinch to leave next year…….$$$$ signs, achedemics or the law will get him. Your looking at another 6 or 7 win season ……..if your lucky.

Can he even read? And is that rumor about him deliberately getting himself declared ineligible for the bowl game true? If it all is, why is UGA keeping him?

affirmative action again

King just another example of the failed affirmative action experiment, look at UGA graduation rate for BB and Football -any major college for that matter -accepting minorities into schools with the realization there is no way they should be attending college especially when they could barely get out of HS. But under the guise of giving them a “chance” they continue to get arrested, fail to go to class, get in other trouble on campus and are eventually shown the door. One wonders why no one mentions the qualified STUDENT athlete who didn’t get a chance because he was a little bit smaller, slower of whatever but would have graduated stayed out of trouble and made the university proud. Political correct nonsense once again rears it’s ugly head!

Just ANOTHER wasted scholarship as far as I’m concerned. And there have been far too many of these the last 3-4 years. Not only are we outcoached alot, we are getting killed on the recruiting trail.

MARCUS DOWTIN CHARGED WITH 2ND DEGREE ASSUALT
http://www.delmarvanow.com/article/20101230/WCT01/12300328

Why hasn’t this been reported? Coincidentally, he’s charged days before he’s not allowed to play in the bowl game yet UGA claims it’s a “coach’s decision.” Is UGA trying to cover up arrest #12?
