This is where Todd Grantham earns his three-quarters of a million. No knock on the new defensive coordinator, but the Bulldogs could have won the three games they’ve won — Louisiana-Lafayette, Tennessee and Vanderbilt — with Willie Martinez or Marion Campbell or Kevin Ramsey as DC. But Georgia plays Kentucky on Saturday in Lexington, and the Wildcats can score some points.
And this is where we learn if all the talk about the schematic advantages of the 3-4 vis-a-vis the 4-3 was simply talk. This is where we see if having an extra linebacker will help Georgia slow the most dynamic player in the SEC East. He’s Randall Cobb, whom Kentucky deploys as a receiver and a runner and a kick returner and occasionally a thrower.
He’s officially listed as wide receiver/quarterback and essentially acts as the joker in Joker Phillips’ deck, Joker Phillips being the first-year Kentucky coach. Cobb nearly beat Auburn and did beat South Carolina. Against the Tigers he threw for a touchdown, caught a pass for a touchdown and rushed for two touchdowns. Against Carolina he caught the winning touchdown from Mike Hartline with 1:15 to play, then rushed for the two-point conversion.
Randall Cobb of Kentucky isn’t to be confused with Randall “Tex” Cobb, the boxer-turned-actor who played the dreadnought biker in “Raising Arizona.” (Holly Hunter, who played Ed in the film, referred to Cobb’s expertly realized character as a “warthog from hell.”) But Randall Cobb of Kentucky has the capacity to unleash all manner of havoc if the opposing DC doesn’t mind his X’s and O’s.
The Kentucky game, not to put too fine a point on it, is immense. Win and Georgia goes to Jacksonville with a chance to finish first in the SEC East, which seemed unthinkable a couple of weeks ago. Lose and Georgia is 3-5 and we’re treated to another round of Mark-Richt-has-lost-it screeds.
Richt took a risk hiring Grantham, who’d never coordinated a collegiate defense. This is the week we see if the risk carried a reward. This is where the new man earns his money. Or doesn’t.

Here UK's Randall Cobb scores against a familiar-looking team. (AJC photo by Brant Sanderlin)

Click click bloody click Bulldogs. Things are starting to come together now with the defense becoming more comfortable and swarming to the ball. Cobb, an All-World player scares me, but I think the Dawgs take this one to stay alive in the East.

I dont know about Kevin Ramsey, I remember the one Auburn game he coached.
You have to admit, the defense has improved under Grantham and it is getting better. It takes time for the new coaches to teach the new scheme and time for the players to learn it. I predict Grantham and his defense will be fine, maybe not Saturday, but soon.
My main concern remains the offense, particularly the running game and the lack of red zone touchdowns.

I hope that we are going into this thing with a payback mentality. It was nice to give Tennessee theirs, hopefully we can use that edge against UK. You’re right, Cobb is the key, our speed should, and I emphasize “should,” be enough. The Tex Cobb reference was great. Thanks.

The 2009 GT game told us that “UGA come 2010 could run the ball” effectively. Right??? WRONG. GT was then and is now one lousy, lousy, lousy D team. UGA ran on GT in 2009 because GT was lousy ……….not because King and ealey and the UGA line were great. No way. A mirage that game was.
The UGA wins over hapless Tennessee and Vandy are ALSO mirages. No way that we can hold KY to under 350 total yards. We must establish the run vs KY with long, long drivies that eat up the clock. If we end up in some 3rd and long situation all night, with Murray having to scramble for a first down, then their ability to use Cobb will be our undoing. No, we must hold KY to 24 points and I fear that we simply cannot do that.
It will be one ugly, slopyy track meet like 48-44 jobs. If UGA loses it will also prove to the world ( AD-McGarity) that Richt has placed UGA on par with lowly KY and that will not be tolerated anymore by the alumni. No way.

Dawgs need to play the way they did the past couple of weeks. This is time for redemption…against Kentucky, I know. That said even if the Dawgs won out I would still have serious concerns about the direction this program has taken. Without Stafford and Knowshaun, the past 3 years may have looked even more bleak. And they underperformed with that talent. I dont think Richt is going anywhere anytime soon…would love it if he could turn things around.

South Carolina had a great gameplan for Cobb. He was really limited in that game, got about 90 yards total.
But, inside the 40, you have to double Cobb, South Carolina let Cobb get free untouched at the end of the game, completely blown coverage, Cobb’ been dangerous as a receiver this season. Even if he appears to be having an off-game, like the South Carolina game, if the game is close at the end, you have to put 2 guys on Cobb and make someone else win the game.

Both GT and UGA have been playing better the past few weeks only because the competition has been weak. A true test for GT this week, but a better barometer for UGA will be the Florida game. You’ve got to admit the D, is vastly improved. SC scored 35 on Bama on the same field it could manage 17 on UGA.

Sailors for Georgia is the anti-Cobb plan for punt & kick returns–speed. Sailors is one of the fastest guys on the team, and has been all over special teams. Sailors will be on Cobb faster than Cobb’s seen before, Sailors can fly.
you also have Butler on punts–who can get incredible hang time and placement, so Butler will take Cobb out of being a factor on punt returns. Butler could just punt the ball out of bounds, taking Cobb out as a return factor.
On kick returns, Belin’s been doing a terrific job, Georgia is #1 in kick off coverage, excellent spacing, and superb tackling, you gang up on a guy like Cobb and gang tackle him. I also don’t think Georgia will kick to Cobb if the game is close.
As far as handling Cobb as a receiver, I’d stick a physical guy like Cuff on him, and let Cuff outphysical him, re-direct his routes at the line, then have Houston coming after the QB and forcing bad throws.
As a rusher, you just have to read it early, then gang tackle Cobb, grab on, and wait for a teammate.

I agree to certain point with you Mark, but if you look at the overall picture Grantham has already vastly improved this defense. The D has kept the Dawgs in every game and if you look at the point total of each common opponent from last year, it’s been significantly less (in every game). He has done a lot in a short period of time, with players that he has had to mold into the 3-4 defense. You can’t even put Grantham in the same sentence with Willie Martinez…that’s a complete joke and you know it.

Willie only had 1 shutout in the last 3 years, it wasn’t against an SEC tea, it was against Tenn Tech.
Willie also gave up 10 points last season to Vanderbilt and 42 to Tennessee, Grantham only gave up 14 to Tennessee and 0 to Vanderbilt. That’s a 40 point swing on defense.
And no Willie could NOT have beat Tennessee, he didn’t last season.

I certainly hope CMR is reading this posting. Randall Cobb is one of the definite 2 guys that Georgia had better (you better believe it) sell out the defense to defend. The other guy is Cam Newton. I would recommend the defense assign 2 defensive players to do nothing by stay on those players on every play. For Cobb, a linebacker and a safety. For Newton, 2 linebackers.

The point totals are also down because the defense does not have to own the 7-10 ppg that thier buddies insisted on spotting the other side. Including the last time they met this very team.
Don’t do that and win the game. Taking care of Cobb will help, but taking care of the ball is a 100% recipe for victory.

Sanders Commings will get some playing time at DB against Randall Cobb too. Sanders is big enough to be a safety, he’s a ballhawker, leads the team in int’s, and is 4th in tackles (only played in 4 games).

Georgia wins in Lexington, but not because of defense. It will take Grantham this year and most of next to solidify his system, but it will solidify. Meanwhile, Georgia’s offense will have to carry the weight. As I said, UGA wins, but they could just as easily lose if the offense sputters.,

Mark, I hate to tell you this, but (outside of the Colorado game) Grantham’s D has been keeping UGA in ballgames until these last two while the offense looked completely lost. How soon you forget that UT basically had Willie’s playbook and totally dominated him even with Crompton at QB. UGA hasn’t shut down Vandy like that in a very long time. In fact, they haven’t shut anyone down like that in the SEC since 2004
Grantham’s D is top 20 in scoring defense this year. His D played Arkansas just as well as Alabama, and far better than Auburn. His D played South Carolina far better than anyone has. His D played UT just as well as LSU, Florida, and Oregon.
Overall, Grantham has the D looking as good as it has in years. Yes, it is too soon to call him a total success, but I think he has more than proven he can make a difference here. Cobb will be a big test for him. Cobb absolutely owned Willie Martinez.

Georgia is 20th in the NATION in scoring defense. FACT.
You think we’d be anywhere near that improved with Soft Willie still at the helm??? We would have gotten BLOWN OUT by South Carolina and Arkansas if Soft Willie were still here.
You can talk about late defensive breakdowns all you want in those two games, but the FACT is, in between the first and last TDs in those two games, the defense HELD South Carolina and Arkansas IN CHECK.
You can’t blame the D for Mike Bobo’s innability to call a decent offensive football game. You can’t blame Grantham for Bobo’s inability to produce TDs instead of field goals.
FACT is Bradley, Todd Grantham has earned every penny this year.
Those who say otherwise simply ignore the big picture. You know… can’t see the forest for the trees.

If I were forced to pick this game I’d have to pick Kentucky, at home. I’m not convinced by the past two weeks the Dawgs have made any meaningful progress; we’ll have to see Saturday if they have or not.
It would be soooooo cool to see Vandy knock off SC and lead in the East. Snowball’s chance, but it’s interesting to ponder what the reaction would be should Florida, UGA, Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina ALL trail at this stage of the season! As it is, somebody has to be in-line to lose in the SEC title game, and come January some high-profile bowl is going to get a real dud team from the SEC.

Check the stats, baby. UGA is number three in the SEC in defense behind LSU and Alabama. We’re also ranked in the Top 20 in total defense. Grantham is earning his dough working with Martinez’s recruits! There is statistically no question that Georgia’s defense is better under Grantham. Once Todd gets a couple of recruiting classes with players that match his scheme, UGA will be leading the SEC in defense.

my gut tells me the Dawgs will win this game with ease, I think our D has drastically improved, our special teams play very good, and the sky is the limit for our offense if Bobo can make the right calls, we dont need to be conservative especially with exceptional talents in WRs and TEs. Kentucky is a good team but Georgia will be too much for them!

KY has a big boy offense. UT and Vandy and MSU do not have. SC and Arkansas could ahve been won and won going away but for stupid Ealey mistakes, etc. That is in the past.
UGa to grow this year ………. has to throttle down on Cobb and the KY O. If they hold KY to say 24 points and we score 25+, I will say fantastic. I fear that this game goes into the final seconds and to whomever has the ball last.
Only a thought: What SEC schools besides UAG and Floorida have a quality starter coming back in 2011 at QB??? Brantly and Murray at Florida and UGA. Newton can turn pro in Feb. Ryan Malett will leave and LSU is still unsettled, regardless of who is a returning starter at QB. MSU and Ole Miss, it matters not. SC has that N. Hall kid but he is just so so and they will get some UGA paybakc regardless in 2011.
UT will have the Simms kid and who cares what kid is the Vandy QB.
Alabama loses McElroy.
UGA and Florida will be the two picked to win in the East come 2011.
Just some ramblings.

Looks like wer’re playing a little better on D. Gaining confidence. The truth is our biggest weakness on D shouldn’t not that they wont, be tested this week. I expect that test to come next week and vs. Auburn, where I expect size up front to push our lite NTs around a bit. That neutralizes the extra LB’er difference.
Murray is a great young QB. Let’s see if he can keep us in this one.

How do you know they would of won with Willie Martinez defense? Preconcieved notion aint worth a hill of beans. Todd Grantham has improved(Rank 14th)our defense tremendously despite having to play with an undersize defensive line and having to teach our young men a different defensive scheme.
The Vols would of beaten LSU(14-16) if it wasn’t for the bad officiating. Also, Tenn got blowed out(14-41) by the dawgs. Kentucky lost to Ole Miss(35-42)but Vanderbilt beat Ole Miss(28-14). Ga should beat Kentucky easily if Mr.Rickt let Aaron Murray be Aaron Murray.

KY will be the first major test for the dawgs def since the CO loss when they gave up huge chunks of yards and TDs. If they control KY the way they did TN and Vandy then they have improved immensly. Lose the same way they played D in their 4 losses and thats proof enuf that the DC hasn’t done his job and this def is no better off than it was from the start. KY is a good team and has good playmakers.
Control their offense and keep them out of the end zone and let our offense do their thing and come out with a W..

Cobb is key, but Hartline has also improved a lot since early last year (and especially since the year before that).
Kentucky may actually be smart enough to use its other weapons.
In short, though, Kentucky had a chance to win each of its last 3 games (@ Miss, AUB, SC). They went 1-2.
Most likely, this is another close game. History places this one in Georgia’s favor. Recent series history makes it more of a push. Last week’s upset over SC means either A) Kentucky has turned a corner; or B) Kentucky had its stroke of luck for the season.

I’ve seen an awful lot of knocks on the D and I really don’t see why. When the offense was so inept what are they to do?? YOu can’t expect them to stop the opponents every time, or even to hold opponents under 10 points every week. OUr special teams (minus Walsh and Butler) is a joke so that leaves it up to the offense to help the D swing the momentum. This hasn’t happened.
Ealey and King hold onto the ball then we aren’t even having this discussion.
At the beginning of the season everybody said “Freshman QB and new D equals about an 8-4 season” Nobody anticipated our run game to be so bad and AJ to have the impact he had by not being there. THe D is fine as long as the offesne puts up more than 14 points (not alot to ask).

dawgfacedboy, I have to disagree. If you watch the tape, UGA’s defense cannot stop the inside run. At least some of the big pass plays they have given up were because they were loading the box against the run. I suspect that a lot of the times UGA’s defensive backs have been out of position because they were cheating against the run instead of covering their assignment. You really have to see the coach’s tape to know that but it is my suspicion.
A ton of their third down woes have been caused by mobile quarterbacks and running backs cutting back and running up the middle. Right between the Nose and End. Until GA gets a physical guy (or even just a heavy guy) in there, they will not be a really good defense.
For all of the credit Saban and Co get for the defense over at Alabama (and they deserve plenty), they were helped out by the fact that Mount Cody came to the team in ‘08. That first year, they were in a similar situation with their D-line. I just hope that our guys come along this offseason or we get a widebody from JuCo like they did.

I agree with bug killer and corny pooh (never dreamed I’d say that) Grantham’s Defensive schemes have put UGA in position to make plays all year long. It is a lack of execution that caused any defensive failures. Look at the S. Car. game; 40 something missed tackles. Lattimore is good, but we made him look like Walter Payton.
So, Tenn. and Vandy were just bad teams? What the hell were we? We were 1-4 and looked like we might never win another game. So far the whole team, especially the defense has made a huge turn around. Last week Murray looked like He’s been playing in the SEC for 3 years, his play action fakes and execution are worlds apart from the “staring down his intended receiver” crap we saw in the first few games. The linebackers are performing great, the d-line is coming around and the secondary is getting better and better.
The Dawgs need to take the rest of the season play by play, series by series and let evrything else take care of itself.
It has been a long time since the Dawgs truly dominated teams they’re supposed to dominate, even in seasons where we won 10 plus games. If we were supposed to dominate Tenn. and Vandy, then we are finally doing something we haven’t done in over a decade.

Georgia’s zone won’t work against Cobb. UGA should put a d-back on him in man-to-man coverage the entire game and hit him hard at the line every play from scrimmage. Also, I hope CMR has some trick plays, fake field goals and new punt block schemes up his sleeve.

CMR has accomplished nothing significant yet, save going two weeks without an arrest. Beating UT and Vandy is better than losing to them, obviously, but UK will be the first test to see if Murray can stay healthy and good, and if AJ can carry the team for 4 quarters. i have supported CMR until this year, when his inconsistency and reluctance in dealing with discipline and even illegal behavior reveals that he has lost his moral authority and leadership ability.

The perspective on “National Program” status is certainly relative at best! UGA is a second tier program over the last couple of years (with perpetual top 5 talent). No NC since 1980? UGA will beat Kentucky this weekend, and has a great chance to win its remaining games (with the exception of Auburn). UGA should certianly beat Tech (perceived by Dawg fans as a second tier program). However, Tech and UGA are very very close in terms of national relevance. It’s true! At least you still have the advantage of being in the SEC. That helps the national perception outside Georgia a bit.
If UGA can win out, it will be fun to listen to the NC (next year) talk from the Dawg Nation. That too is perpetual, and amusing.
Good luck the rest of the year!

My two bits:
Yeah, we’re basing this on beating teams from Tenn, but we have come a long way. We lost to a Colorado team that lost to Cal 62-7. Just 2 days before Colorado beat us, Cal lost to Nevada. True, we really haven’t beaten anybody, but our offense is beginning to come together and our D is starting to get it.
Adding Trinton and Gates to the O-line has been under the radar, but a major reason Aaron has time to throw and Washaun has had the time to find somewhere to run. Yes, holes have been plugged, but I haven’t seen as many plays where guys just shot through untouched to the ball carrier. That’s gone way down…….

Hita Single is correct. Without the SEC, what is UGA right now? Again, from a national perspective, many see Tech and UGA as relatively equal in national relevance at this point. One could argue that Tech has done more with less since the arrival of Johnson. However, UGA owns Tech the way FLA owns UGA. That said, their performance over the past couple of years is similar, with Tech having better success in a lesser conference. Again, the difference between the two programs is negligible, with Tech producing more with less over the last two years.
UGA can certainly help its case if they win out, which leads me back to the central issue — UGA will beat Kentucky, but not because it’s a nationally prominent program. That perspective is delusional. If UGA is a “national” progam, so is Tech! I hope both Tech and UGA win this weekend. I wish both programs success and a great game later this year. However, the results will hold very little national relevance.

Mark you are off the mark!. Grantham is earning his money by developing a very good defense that will only continue to improve. Given this is only our 8th game that he has coached and players have played, to be ranked nationally 20th is scoring defense, 14th in total defense is a vast improvement over Willie. You ask me, I think we can get even better. Look at the improvement of the linebackers Dowtin, Robinson and Dent. Remember we were asking ourselves how will we replace Curran? By better coaching that is how.
I also like that Grantham will make personnel changes to improve his defense. Jakar “hit man” Hamilton is 3rd string behind Williams and Ogletree. Geathers is coming on at the Nose position, and maybe we are seeing the development of Lott as one of the DE’s. Cummings replacing Cuff at one corner, with Love getting nickel work. How long did we watch Evans get burned never to lose his Safety position under Willie? It seems that Grantham is not afraid to shake things up to improve and to send a message to the players…you will compete. Rambo is vulnerable as well, and have you noticed he is starting to hit again. He has gotten Grantham’s message!
Finally, as mentioned by a previous entry the defense without the big plays this season has shut down teams for long stretches of games. Shore up the tackling and coverage and UGA will become a real terror on defense. I look at next season for this defense to really come together.
Georgia will win against Kentucky. The defense will show up big on Saturday night. Yeah, the “Doghouse” Dawgs will GATA this weekend. Georgia 38 KY 9.

No way do the Doggies win in Lexington. UGA was lucky to catch a very down and turn-over crazy UT team and we all know Vandy is……well, Vandy. Actually, you’re wrong, dawgturd. Tech alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.
UGA fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to UGA for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.
Georgia Tech is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. UGA has a long history of being a party school, where parents send their kids for an easy degree, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.
Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was almost three decades ago, and nothing has changed. If anything, the abuses are more blatant today. Way too many illiterate morons are being recruited, and the very high arrest rate shows clearly that Richt does not care if his players have any morals or self-discipline.
The bottom line is that most Tech fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on Tech’s football record for their happiness in life. It would be great to beat UGA more often, but when you put scholar-athletes up against dummy-athletes, it’s usually no contest.
It’s pretty pathetic to see UGA fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with UGA’s weekly results on the football field.
So keep on posting your “30-24″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the Waffle House before your unemployment checks stop coming.

Florida crushed Kentucky!!! I sure hope Georgia’s players are thinking like the two of you.
…and Florida will have a healthy Jeff Demps, a healthy Matt Patchan, a healthy Emmanual Moody, a healthy James Wilson, a healthy Jaye Howard, a healthy Andre Debose, a healthy Jelani Jenkins, a healthy Moses Jenkins, and a healthy John Brantley (he has played the last three games with badly bruised ribs and an extemely sore thumb on his throwing hand). And Chris Rainey might be back on the field…..all of which did not play aganist Mississippi State and many that did not play against LSU.
Plus….Meyer will have two weeks to prepare for Georgia.
But….your team better beat the Gators this year….or it might be a long time before Georgia will have the opportunity to beat them again.
Good luck with that!

The Winner of this Game stays in the fight for the right to lose to any of three teams from the West.
These Wildcats know they can beat UGA and think they can beat UGA and know how to beat UGA.
The past two weeks the DAWG NATION is back behind SIR MARK RICHT. The problem with that is UAB almost beat Tennesssee in Knoxville and Northwestern crushed Vanderbilt, not very good barometers for evaluating UGA.
The game is at night in Lexington and the last time UGA played at night they forgot to set their alarm clocks for the Right Kickoff time and got beat by a Colorado team who IS going FIRE their Coach.

The word “Identity” has been the most used word to describe UF besides “disappointing” in written articles this year. Next time I tell you what is being said behind the scenes..do not doubt me.
I read your post on the Gainesville Sun Website, are you panicking?
But UF with the week off should beat UGA next week, the problem is going to be USC, they have the same defensive skills as any top tier school in the SEC.

Does it really matter where the author of a blog came from? Does the keyboard he types on have to be from Athens?
The dogs performance on the field trumps what is written, or who wrote it.
If we had a North Avenue geek writing DAWG blogs, they could still be informational, but that’s missing the point.
The post author must provoke some type of response from fans. Why do you think so many people question the intelligence of these guys? It’s one thing to write a well-written, factual article, and something altogether different to gain someones interest and attention to where they will pop in an e-mail and a handle and put in their 2 bits.
Who cares where he’s from? We still blog here anyway……..

Bill…You rather M Bradley have gone to an ACC, PAC 10, Big 10 etc. school instead? You rather T. Moore still be “writing” too? Don’t answer that last question. You feel “mocked and humiliated”… really? I don’t think Bradley being a UK alum is the issue here. On second thought, maybe you’re onto something. This article may just be a plot to get our beloved Dawgs to focus on R. Cobb instead of Hartline and his 68% pass completion, his QB rating of almost 150 and his TD/Int ratio of 13-3. Mutiny!!!
Thank you techies for “visiting” our blog and your continued obsession with UGA football. How many of you actually attend GT home games? No need to answer that last one either cause we both already know how GT fans “support” their team at home games. Sic em’.

Right now Ga is 3rd in total defense in the SEC. Would you believe me if I told you that they are only 2 yards difference per game between them and Kirby Smart all world defense in Alabama. Give him some time and I think he’ll get Ga’s defense where it needs to be. He just needs to get some recruits up front that will fit the 3-4 scheme.

SEC Fact Finder….
The Gator season has nothing to do with “identity” and more to do with two missed FGs by their outstanding punter (Henry) instead of their outstanding placekicker (Sturgis) that would make them 6-1 instead of 4-3…..and poor coaching by one Steve Addazio as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach….the two biggest issues with the Gators (other than losing the placekicker) this year.
My recruiting post on Gatorsports.com was mostly about Dominique Ealey and Joshua Powell, two highly recruited 5-star recruits who have been a disrupt force as freshman on the football team this year (neither dressed for the last game) and that both will probably transfer at the end of the year….and that will be a good thing. No panic…just hoping they leave town if they don’t fix their attitudes. Ronald Powell was one of the three for a while, but he seems to have turned his attitude and effort around and is realizing that being a high school superstar does not have you a super player as a freshman in college….hard work does.
All I know is that Georgia better be ready to play next weekend. I believe the Gators will be healthy (for the first time in a while), prepared, and very hungry to continue their recent dominance over the Dawgs.

Also…..FACT FINDER
Florida lost to 3 top 25 teams, two of which are top 5 teams…and crushed Kentucky, the opponent the Dawgs are so concerned about this weekend. The Dawgs lost big to the team Florida lost to by 3 points. The Dawgs also lost Big to Colorado….again…Colorado…BIG!!! Florida lost BIG to Bama…..big difference.
I don’t think any Gator fan is in panic mode about playing the Dawgs. The only panic we feel is when Steve Addazio makes yet another stupid offensive play call that ends up costing the Gators a win because a game comes down to a punter kicking FGs.
The Gators will be at their most healthy state next weekend….and they should be better prepared and ready to play Georgia….I have no doubt about that. Georgia better be or it will be 18 of 21….but this is a great chance for Georgia to win…no doubt about that as well. Florida is down due to some poor coaching by Addazio, lots of injuries, a real bad decision by Rainey, two missed FGs, and some desention cause by some highly recruited freshman. But as bad as this season has been for the Gators…they remain in control of their own road to Atlanta along with South Carolina….Georgia doesn’t. Just the FACTS…Fact Finder.

For those who think statistics win games. it would be note worthy to point out that UK has played FL, SC, Auburn, and Ole Miss (3 powerhouses) versus GA’s games against AK, Miss St, Vandy, TN, and SC (1 powerhouse. The lone two wins for GA were against lowly TN and Vandy.
For those I also say that games are won on the field, and I give the advantage to UK considering that a) they have played the tougher part of the schedule, b) they played all their games very competively (except FL), c) the game is in Lexington and d) GA’s QB is a freshman and has not done much away from home.
But then again, who knows?

Once again your ignorance shows and you have yet to catch up to current events. I have never been a UGA fan. I realize at your age you my suffer from Alzheimers.
Yes, every article for the past three weeks about FLORIDA has been, “IDENTITY”. You can just not face the facts that Urban has lost his edge. The same thing has been told to me privately from numerous beat reporters, columnist and others who are on campus since the return from the Sebatical.
As for the PAPER Dawg comment, I read that post and searched for the article and found your crying in the comments section.
As I have stated many many times, I live in TAMPA-Westchase and when not doing my “real job”.
I work with the officials in the SEC and attend many games each year, while umpiring Baseball games in the spring for the SEC/ACC/ B-East, and a few others. I am fortunate enough to own 2 national championship rings for working in two different D-1 programs(as it was known when I was in school) and worked for a couple of pro baseball teams while I was a much younger man.
So this Bulldog crap is pretty funny, since as a GATOR fan you pop up on every article about, Tech, UGA, or the SEC spouting off about your gators this year. Now I want the SEC to win the BCS game every year, and I always want any SEC team to beat every other outer conference school, (even when UF played USF), but while working I keep to myself, do my job and go home, then I post on here without worry for my words.
By the way I do work the USC/ UF game this year, and the Alabama/MSU game, in coming weeks.
So , I know you think you are in “the know”, but as I said much earlier in the season, there are problems in the UF program and many many other people knew before the season started and if Coach Meyer does not make the changes this off week, it could be a long remaining fall. I think he will and you will see a much different approach to the GATOR offense next week in Jacksonville.
Good luck to ya, in Clearwater….I will be in LARGO tomorrow after the BUCS get beat on, then

EVERY ARTICLE! Wow! Really? Meyer and Brantley don’t think it is an “identity issue causing the loss of games. They think it is an issue of execution of the offense, injuries to key members of the team throughout the year, youthful mistakes, and three missed FGs that prevented the Gators from beating both LSU and Miss. State…but I guess you are “more in the know” than Meyer or Brantley based on you “press connections”…and we all know the press knows everyting about everything, right?
Also…speaking of ignorance….Alzheimers is not a disease directly related to aging (and when did 59 become that old anyway?). I would think someone of such a fine address as Tampa/Westchase would know that. I prefer the beauty of living on beautiful North Beach of Clearwater myself.
