OK, so what happens with Richt if UGA loses in Starkville?

I haven’t got much confidence in this team to beat anybody right now.

i do not think anything will happen to coach richt this year.adams said as much earlier when he stated uga would owe richt too much money if the let him go.

next year will be the big test and well it should be. a new qb,new defense,but the offense needs help now and richt needs to take it over now.

I do not expect great things from the Dawgs this year. But next year, I expect them to win the east especially if green comes back for his senior season. I like the fact the younger players are getting experience, Tavarres King, and others. Its very hard to win a SEC Championship with a freshman qb. Murray is receiving on the job training. It will be difficult with The Dawgs Nation to be patient. I already read one article putting Mark in the hot seat. AD needs to let him know for now he has the water…..

I agree that it is a young team and if this was a team that played as hard as it could and the caoches had the team prepared with a good game plan and play calling and they still lost, I would be supportive. The problem is that the single reason for the losses is bad coaching and play calling not inexperience and missing a great player. I am sick of hearing about that. Why don’t we have another “great player”?

I agree with TCH, play calling has been horrible for two straight games, no way on a 3rd and 3 or 4 do you send everyone 20 yards deep, and have Ealy trying to block a DE one on one. With that said, all realistic fans should have known it would be a tough year, new def scheme, new talented but raw qb and two very tough games back to back, but they do need to get the ball rolling this week and at Colorado. Florida and Tenn are both beatable, no reason why dogs can’t go 9-3 and should beat Tech at the end of the season, Auburn is winnable but tough. The Good news in once Murray gets the sack clock in his head hell be one of the better QB’s in the country, can’t believe he launched that ball 65 yards today

I heard the post game comment by Bobo that you have to have the big play to win, that you can not expect to have drives of 8 or 9 plays to score. I think that is the problem. You must be able to have long controlling drives. His strategy to get to third and one then go for the 20 or 30 yard pass is a looser all the time and giving up the ball. Old Georgia football is drive it down the field and wear them out. We are 3 and out now. We have no sure fire play that will always get us the 1 or 2 yards on a run. Coach Richt must make a change at offensive coordinator.

Richt needs to take over play calling…. we had zero trickeration… reverses… fake punts… no TE’s or FB’s for 10 yd. or less 1st down situations. .. 3 WR’s 30 yds. down the field.. with no separation…and they dont come back for the pass…. Bo Bo calling plays against old pros like Petrino.. Spurrier ????

Bobo saying the “you need a big play to when the game” is the reason we lost. We had 2 time outs, 50 seconds and needed about 30 yards. The running game was finally working, so what does he do? Go for the big play? 1st things first, GET THE FIRST DOWN, wew could have run the ball twice and gotten it. Then if Bobo just has to go for the stupid “big play” on first down that might have been a decent call. Bobo just does not know when to call his plays, he just calls anything he wants whenever he wants and normally it is at the wrong time. Stop protecting Richt, he is not competant enough to recognize this either. If he were, he would have fired Bobo. That call was horrible and lost the game and if Richt knew what he was doing he would react and fire Bobo in a heart beat. But again he doesn’t!!!

Don’t think UGA will lose in Starkville. Think the team will be glad to be on the road and out from under the magnifying glass. We did lose to two good teams. Although, we could have won either game. We are still undisciplined on the field. Too many mental mistakes, bad play calling, not using tight ends, not moving the pocket and rolling Murray out, etc. Richt will stay, end of year, Bobo will go. Nobody’s first job as Offensive Coordinator should be at a school like UGA. You have to earn that title, and prove you selft successful somewhere else first.

tight end was supposed to be a strength, didn’t see them being used at all. Had a lot of third and less than 5 when a good tight end should at least be a thought. UGA is offensively vannila, easy to defend. The value of an assistant coach is measured by how many other teams try to hire them away…. anybody come bidding for Bobo lately(ever?)

If less energy was used after a good play and used tackling and pass defense the Dogs would be fine. They don’t have to let people know who it was that made the play – their name is on the jersey. You don’t see jumping and arm waving from Alabama, they just do their job and go back and do it again!!

We were all excited about this year? Green took 1000 for a jersey because we’re told he needed the money. What now, he’s going to turn down millions of dollars next year and come back? I’m tired of Mark Richt using Georgia’s football program as a “TRAINING GROUND” for assistant coaches. I’m tired of the A.J. Green excuses for losses. 3 & 4…all three timeouts remaining…you can run out the clock and either kick a field goal to win or go to overtime….Speilman was going nuts…not a short pattern in the entire play…tight ends not involved in the offense….We need a proven commodity in the O.C. position…not some alum we feel some sense of false allegiance to. Also, if Murray gets hurt, you are right back to playing a QB with no experience. One more loss and Georgia needs to play as many freshmen and sophomores as they can to get experience and depth…9 returning starters on offense, sans Green, and this is what you get? Searles and Bobo should start editing their resumes.

Let’s see, the Dawgs have several (if not all) the defensive lineman that star coming out of high school. Marcell Darius was a 3 star!! Darius is probably the best DL in the conference. As much as I don’t love him, Kirby Smart’s contract needs to be worked on now! And if the Dawgs lose to MSU, then all the coaches need to be told they won’t be back next season!

This team will get better, but the real question is by how much before season’s end? And while I don’t think AJ Green’s presence would have made a difference enough to win last week at South Carolina, I have no doubt that we win by at least a touchdown if he plays yesterday so I hope AJ feels like crap today.

Our offensive line is playing way under its ability level. And our new defense was good for about 85% of the snaps yesterday. But the other 15% were plain awful and ended up costing us the game. The defensive scheme and coaches and players are all new to each other so I have optimism that will get better. But the O-line’s lack of effectiveness is very troubling given that it is basically a two-deep veteran unit under the same offensive coaching staff.

Starkville scares me at this point.

UGA AD McGarity is first a Georgia Bulldog. He grew up in Athens. He was a UGA athelete. He has been second in command at Florida, as Assist.AD. He has been conditioned to winning and he wants that to continue. Excuse me, he will demand that it continue.

He saw the UGA faithful leaving in red droves in the 3rd qtr. ( yes, the 3rd qtr.) and he knows that is not a vote of confidence for this squad. I am sure that caught his AD eye.

If UGA loses to MSU, then the wheels will fall off and the Dog finger pointing will begin.UGA is about to go into a very dark period known as 2010. I hope that it is only htis year.

I for one, would let ealey and AJ go. Ealey can not be counted on for next year due to any number of reasons and AjJ will go pro. Fine. Give em both a jump on that …………..kick them off the team.

Fans can blame Coach Richt all they want. I for one believe he’s best for this program short-term and long-term. The 3-4 defense will work, it takes time to learn and it takes players adapted to this style of defense. The defense is better this year for sure. We’ve just played two very strong teams that will end the season in the top 10. On offense, look who’s out there. A very talented qb who’s just played his 3rd career college football game. A core of recievers who simply lack the talent of AJ and Julio Jones. If I’m T King, Troupe and Marlon Brown, I’m going to the coaches and making noise to throw me the ball. These guys are under-utilized. They can do the job. Murray’s holding the ball too long. The o-line can’t protect that long. Murray is smart enough to learn and will that fact. Let’s stop beating on these guys and support them.

I bet when Isiah Crowel saw that fabulous run blocking scheme yesterday, then heard Bama’s Heisman winner got 100 yards in the first quarter, he probably made his mind up right then.

Mark, that’s a good question. But the question should have been, “What’s going to happen to Richt at the end of the season with more SEC losses?” Anyone can see some more are coming. UGA is an average team in the SEC (and I guess in our Division). I keep wondering how we lost our way and why we aren’t as good as the UGA teams of past years. But now I think its not a problem of us getting so much worse as it is that most everyone else has gotten so much better while we stand pat.

I’ve never thought Richt really wants to be at Georgia. I don’t think his heart is in it. He didn’t grow up a Bullldog and would really rather be somewhere else. Guess he’s homesick to return to the state of Florida. Other bloggers jumped on me three years ago when I said this, but nothing has changed to make me think I’m wrong about it. Now, a lot of other people seem to agree! To me, this explains a lot about his demeanor and personality traits. He doesn’t have the traits of a “fired-up” coach. It’s more of someone bidding his time. Nothing else that’s done is going to be of much help to the UGA football team until this is changed.

Nothing will happen to MR even if we have a losing season. My disappointment is the lack of intesity he originally brought to the program. Seems we went after a lot of punts, ran hurry-up offenses, intercepted a few passes, and could tackle. Our offense will be fine if it can get some help from other areas.

Most seem to be giving the coaches a little bit of a break since we have a new qb again this year. Let’s not forget that the coaches are responsible for that. They could have worked Murray in some last year and chose not to do so. That’s on Bobo and Richt.

I was very excited about the defensive change, but so far there seems to be a lot of weaknesses exposed. Hopefully it will get better. There are also some great flashes if they can just get a little more consistent. Keep in mind, that it took Alabama one year to get the 3-4 scheme down pat so let’s cut the new guy a little slack.

Most everybody knows I’m a Tech guy, but I have a huge respect for Mark Richt. I hope the inmates don’t take over the asylum and get him fired. Rarely does a coach of this magnitude come along, and I would sure hate to see him go. Last year we felt we should have beaten UGA, but Richt designed such a good offense that he won that game. However, when asked on National TV (right after game was over), Richt said he had just beaten once of the best teams, and folks that garners a lot of respect from outside the program, whether you believe what he said or not. Stay Mark Richt!

Mark, I am thinking this, I am not sure that a new AD wouldn’t bring in a new head coach if this gets ugly. I would be interested to know how many times a new AD has fired the head coach when the program he was taking over is not where it needs to be, and hired his own guy. I am sure it has happened before. It is the nature of higher ed administration – you want your own people.

Brad, you do realize Miss State’s coach is Myer’s former OC, right? I don’t really think a win, at Starkesville is a given. Probably 50/50.

I look at our remaining schedule and see a sure win vs Idaho State, a pretty sure win at home vs Vandy, and a sure loss in Jax. I think the rest are 50/50, including, UT, at AU, and at KY, and Tech.

I think the best we can hope for before bowl season is 8-4. Don’t want to think about the worst . . .

If Bobo is doing such a bad job calling plays (which he is) why cannot the head coach correct it? Early in the game we had a big moment around the 50, third and one on a drive..We throw a 15 yard pass, incomplete…that stopped the drive we punt. We did not have to have but a yard…Bobo wants the big play. Most the time keeping a drive going is a big play. There are a lot of big plays tht are a yard long…Also, noticed we had nearly all our drives before the fourth quarter start inside the 20….Why run reverses and wide trick plays inside the 20 to begin drives? Those kind of plays are more successful from the middle of the field after you have called plays to get there and catch defenses looking for what you have done well….then hit them with a reverse or trick play….It is too big a chance for something to go wrong inside the 20.

I read yesterday where Adams said he met with the coaching staff and told them that he wanted the arrests and off-field bad behavior to stop. We’ll see whether he takes any action if it doesn’t stop. I don’t much care for Adams, but at least someone over Richt’s head is stepping in to see that the coaches do their job since Richt doesn’t seem to be able to do it. Too bad Adams hasn’t also said “No more SEC losses”!!

I can only lol when I read the UGA blogs.First they are the second coming of Jesus every year, then the sky is falling four weeks into the season.
You guys scream every year about how great your program is, then you tout how big your stadium is, how great your recruiting is, and how stupid every HS kid that signs with Tech or another school is and UGA did not want the anyway.
The difference between Tech and UGA fans is simple. The Tech fans fans are realistic about their expectations and what their program actualy is. UGA fans think that the college football world revolves around Athens, GA. Both programs are decent programs that will have winning seasons on a regular basis and will not scare anybody day in and day out. They both will slip up and win a division or conference championship every so many years. They both will play in a BCS bowl from time to time.
UGA has not won anything for thirty years and Tech for twenty! What exactly does the incredibly awsome Dawg Nation expect? Get a grip!!!!!!!! You guys are playing to what you are and have proven to be to for fifty years.

Richt is walking in Bowden’s footsteps but not the young Bowden, the old one. He’s hands off, X’s and O’s aren’t great, terrible discipline/fundamentals, players get arrested, it’s amazing how his tenure mirrors Bowden’s late one.

There’s no more ‘finish the drill’ in Athens. He’s not the same coach he was in the early 2000s. He’s in the Fulmer stage now and another season like 2009 and he should be out. The fact that we had the #1 draft pick at QB and a top fifteen draft pick at RB and lost EVERY big game in 2008 will be one of the biggest disasters in UGA history for years to come. We got beat 49-10 against the Gators…..49-10. How does that add up to that kind of score?

The is NO way he only losses one more game this year. The best case scenario is we only loose 2 more but it could easily be 3+.

Please, let go of all of the excuses. What class year was Alabama’s QB last year when they won the NT? Does Ealey not think he is every bit as good as Ingram? As a coach you have to put the pressure on to see if the kid can take it. You can’t control it like a pot of boiling water that heats up measured and slowly. Why do you need to have a meeting during the game to get them to play like their hair is on fire? Why can’t you come out of the tunnel ready?

During the game I saw Bobo put his arm around Mark Richt’s shoulders. That is very condescending making the appearance that “don’t’ worry, everything will be all right.” That is not what a staff coach does to he head coach. It may seem trivial, but Richt should never allow Bobo to do that. It makes Richt look venerable.

We hired our own with Griffin, Goff and Bobo. Since we have not been very successful with OUR administrative people and coaches where is the experienced, successful, Georgia graduate coach that can turn this around. Are there any present GA trained head coaches that will not have to have on the job training? Saban was not Alabama, Meyer was not UF, Miles was not LSU….I guess what you are saying is get Dooly after he becomes successful at TN? Oops!! I forgot he is a UV graduate so that would not work???

Nothing will happen and shouldn’t at this juncture. No way this team gets to 8 or 9, 6 or 7 maybe. Once the first round combo of Stafford and Moreno left, UGA is rapidly descending to the middle tier of the SEC. WIth BlowBo firmly entrenched, they will rise no further.

Bull puppies you woke up this morning and guess what the best you are going to do is 6-6 or 7-5. However you will have another over hype top 10 recurting class. Then next year you will go 8-4. Then the smack talk will began. Then in 2012 you will sink back in despair as you go 7-5 again. The best part is CMR has 2 more full seasons before he is fired. Then it will take at least 3 years to rebuild the program. So, enjoy some other team Ala. or Aub. or Fla. until 2015 or 2016 because thats how long it will be before it great to be a Ga. bulldog again.

Sad fact is that Georgia has only won 2 SEC titles in the last 28 years so it shouldn’t be any shock they won’t win it again this year. Another sad fact is Georgia showed no enthusiam against SC and none against AR until the 4th quarter. If a coach can’t get his team fired up to play 12 games a year then there is a serious problem. They continue to underachieve year after year.

When you do a comparison of the Bama program with ours, where we want to be with where we are now, the differences are staggering. Saban is intense, focused, and demanding, while Richt is laid back and seems satisfied with mediocrity. The strength and conditioning of Bama vs. Georgia is night and day. Trent Richardson is Bama’s #2 back and benches 460! #2 back! The Bama OL will knock you into next week, the Dawgs OL will roll over, play dead, and knock you into Murray. The assistant coaches for Bama are top notch and in demand around the country, the Georgia assistants such as Bobo would be much better suited for much smaller schools. High schools that is. In summary, there are far too many areas in which the Dawgs are coming up short vs. the elite programs, and the gulf between them seems to be only getting bigger.

Sturdivant, Glenn, Burnette, Anderson, Davis. It’s frustrating. Richt refuses to play his best atletes on the Offensive line. Moving Tripp and Bean from potential starters on the offensive line to back up defensive lineman is certifiable. Tripp started out on defense and moved to offense with Richt predicting he would be a first round draft pick. The next thing you know , he’s back on defense and lost. How can Richt project the kid as a future NFL player and then basically desert the kid. He’s from the same high school as Cam Newton by the way.

Another source of frustration is that Searles evaluation of offensive lineman in the state of Georgia basically results in you stockpiling your competition with athletes better than your own who end up kicking butt. Look at Bama with James Carpenter, and Chance Warmack, Florida with Maurice Hurt, UT with Jujuan James, Auburn with Byron Isom, Arkansas with Ray Dominguez, South Carolina with Terence Campbell and Roke Watkins, Ole Miss with A. J. Hawkins, and I’ll bet you Bama lands the stud from Moultrie, Xzavier Ward. It’s crazy up there, but when you have a couple of Georgia “good Ole Boys” like Bobo and Searles evaluating talent, you end up with Cam Newton at Auburn, and an offensive line that ie the most over-rated in America ! It’s got to be tough being a DAWG. Roll Tide!

Bottom line, this is a character issue. For all of talk of great recruiting classes, I think it’s time we evaluate what kind of character some of thes 3,4,and 5 ” star” players possess. If you are undisciplined off the field, you will be on the field.

I did not like the call on third and four either, but the same staff that called the two tying drives called that play too, so they are not completely inept. At some points it falls back on the players to execute.

Our best player is waving a towell on the sideline because he knowingly broke a rule. Our tailback who got in trouble missed three key pass blocks and almost got Murray killed. The corner who misplayed the winning score for Arkansas got away with throwing a punch earlier in the game but still cost us 15 yards when we were struggling for 1. Our safety makes a big hit and then stands and poses over the runner causing a shoving match on our sideline, but in the Carolina game he takes plays off at the goalline.

Our coach talks about “Finishing the drill” Well, we didn’t start the drill until the last quarter and then did not have the players with the character to finish it. What kind of team lollygags thru 3 quarters then plays hard for 1, has a chance to pull the game out in the final minutes but can’t execute under pressure to get the job done? The kind that lines up 4 and 5 “star” thugs who break rules and laws, get arrested, talk trash, primp and pose, and are an embarrassment to the university.

Coach Richt needs to play the kids who are disciplined and talented enough to finish the drill.

Bottom line, we need better character kids on the field at UGA

Two sources close to the situation have reported to me that UGA is already drawing up a list of potential candidates to replace Mark Richt but not for the reason you may suspect.

According to these sources, Richt remains highly frustrated over getting UGA back to a nationally competitive level plus Richt, a highly principaled Christian, is equally embarassed and frustrated over the continued misbheavior of his members of his team and the constant whinning of UGA fans.

If UGA loses to someone in addition to Auburn and Flordia, look for Richt to resign with UGA’s blessing BEFORE their bowl game.

The O-line is WAY overrated. I like the QB but he is young and still learning. We have no go to running back. Our D-line is very average at best and look a bit weak compared to other SEC linemen. We have a lot of fast and athletic players but they don’t play smart sound FOOTBALL!
The NFL takes 5-6 UGA players every year. Got to be a coaching problem.

Mark…….I like Richt and I thought we would win a National Title with him. However, after yesterday’s game I told a friend of mine that this might be the team the knocks Richt out. Richt didn’t pull a full Donnan (Remember the words ” I’ve waited my whole life to coach a team this good) and we ended up in Hawaii in the Honolulu bowl. Richt told booster club, after booster club that “He was really excited about this team and thought we would have a turnaround season”. It’s been far from a turnaround. We didn’t tackle in Columbia (Coaching), we had missed assignments and at times Arkansas made it look like there was no defense on the field (Coaching), we are suppose to have the best offensive line in the country yet we cannot open a hole for a running back (Coaching). Georgia fans are tired of hearing about the future and how we are just a year or two away. We already have to “Wait til next year” in 2010 and we aren’t even out of September.

Let’s take a quick look at Bama, the measuring stick for successful programs vs ours, the Dawgs. Nick Saban is intense, focused, and demands excellence. Mark Richt is laid back, not too outwardly concerned, and hopes to win a conference game as his current goal. Alabama’s strength and conditioning is light years ahead of ours, just watch the Tide’s line knock opposing teams into next week. The Dawgs just knock the opposing teams into Murray. Bama has top notch assistants such as Smart, who are courted and coveted by many other programs around the country. Which other teams would like to have Bobo on their staff as a must have addition? Georgia has sadly fallen behind in too many areas and it’s time to make a big change.

When the fat cats start screaming for Richt’s head, Adams will hang him out to dry, and it appears that those rumblings are starting. As long as Richt was contending for the conference, donations rolled in, and Adams turned his head at arrests and unsportsmanlike behavior. A competent president would have put a stop to these behavior issues years ago, but Adams is a self-serving politician protected by a corrupt governor and hand-picked Board of Regents. There will be a new governor soon, who should send Adams off to his villa in Italy, and hopefully clean up the BOR from the likes of Regent Leebron. Then UGA can begin rebuilding the University and the football program.

I like Mark Richt. But considering the kind of pay check he cashes, affability isn’t an option. Like it or not, the best college football coaches are polarizing figures who demand the respect and fear of their players and staff. I agree with Bradley–there isn’t a whole lot of shame in the two losses thus far. We were beaten by better teams. But if it takes a train wreck of a season to shake things up at Georgia, so be it. I’d prefer one really bad season to ten mediocre ones.

Georgia is now solidly entrenched as second-tier team in the SEC. Of that there’s little doubt. That’s how far the program has declined.

Really and truly, their losses to both South Carolina and Arkansas are as it should be. If you go by who’s the better team “on paper”, both the ‘Cocks and the Hogs should have won. So I can go to sleep tonight with full confidence, that when I rise tomorrow, my cat and dog won’t start breeding and Democrats and Republicans will still hate each other. The natural order has been sustained.

When was the last time the Dawgs were supposed to lose to both South Carolina and Arkansas in the same year?

I guess one question is: can anybody currently in Athens coach SEC-quality football? If the answer is “no” then it’s time to get coaches who can. Easier said than done for sure.

I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team. When you look at their history for the past forty years, how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the “remedial studies” scam, the Jim Harrick fiasco, the DUIs in the athletic office, the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school tag (i.e., the most drunk students), the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?

As disgraceful and humiliating as it is, I don’t see many alums and fans demanding an end to this sordid activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school most people abhor, and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.

Will it never end? Apparently not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is perhaps the biggest hypocrite in the United States. But even with all the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still can’t win the SEC.

So you’re paying him to be BCS champions, but he can’t even win his SEC division. So why do you pay him millions of dollars a year?

It ain’t the coaches fault, the coaches do have a good game plan, it is the quality of the players we have recruited lately.

When you win the Fulmer Cup and are something like second ALL TIME, that shows you the quality of the players. We lack intelligence to execute what the coaches have laid out.

If we would have won yesterday, nobody would be on Bobo, nobody would be on Richt. It is the player’s fault. Trust me when I say, Murray and Ealey are no rocket scientists and our defense will fall for any trick in the book.

If there is a problem coach it is the big woman we hired…. Grantham. Grantham and his defense have turned us into a predictable defense. We are aggresive, but bite on anything like a dumb dog and get burned for the big play.

We have problems ahead in Athens….. the players need to get the freaking stuff right.

Bottom line….Georgia played two teams with equal or better talent and simply got outcoached and outplayed in both games. If they continure to lose close games….Richt will stay…..but there will be additional assistant coaching changes in Athens. The important alumni will demand that or Richt’s head if he doesn’t make some sweeping changes. They are getting “outcoached” right now and things could get really dicy in Dawgland if they lose to MSU next week.

P.S. Bobo is conservative……but he looks creative next to Florida’s OC. Our guy only knows 4 plays to call. Sweep left. Sweep right. Dive middle. Dump pass of two yards…..and always…always….call a run up the middle on 2nd and more than 10 yards. And the key….wait until there is only 10 seconds left on the play clock to give Brantley one of those 4 predicable plays so there is no time for him to evaluate the defense or call an audible. He is horrible.

I am not making excuses, but you people are unbelievable. Half of you wouldn’t know the difference in a zone or man coverage. Nobody likes to lose, but all this fire the coach stuff is a joke. There are alot of things I would like to see, like more fire on the sidelines (like Van Gorder was) and also recruit better quality kids. Recruit talent and don’t worry if they are 4 star or 5 star recruits. I watch other teams with alot bigger and stronger talent at running backs, defensive fronts, and fast receivers. I still believe in Richt and until we get franchise type players we are going to be average. Look how many balls we came close to intercepting and all could have been returned to the house. We need guys that make the plays and we haven’t had them. Is this coaching or poor recruiting?

Let’s be real – several of the sacks were because a back or some other non line players flat out missed a block (see Ealey on DVR replay) on Arkie’s last TD our player and defense were in position to make the tackle after the caught pass – the reciever juked him out of his shoes and ran for the TD – these were not (in all fairness) defensive breakdowns – they WERE player breakdowns – all CTG can do is put the players in position to make the plays – the guys have to step up. Having said that – Bobo’s play calling was either very good or insane – he seems to be unable to maintain a consistent quality of play calling – it swings form near genius to totally clueless. The short passing game was totally missing yesterday – I guess Marlon Brown is either too frail or too mentally challenged to play. Why else would you keep a 6′ 5″ 5 star recruit off the field. But what really drives me nuts is this: Our recievers make a great catch and what happens next? THEY PULL THEM OFF THE FIELD! If somebody has a hot hand – especially with only a few minutes left – why would you not keep them on the field and run plays to them? Or as Tennessee’s Kiffin said last year “We were going to keep running that roll out until they stopped it” DUH…..And there is Bobo – if the running game is working – he stops going to it – if the passing game has opened up – he starts running it. I think Bobo needs to go back to QB coach and CMR needs to start taking over the play calling ….NOW! I am proud of the way the Dagws fought back yesterday but the simple fact is Arkie had better players on offense than we had on defense. This year is not going unexpectedly – New D / new QB / add suspensions, injuries and some bad luck – well, here we are. It’s painful to see the last two games on rerun and realize that we could just as easily be 3 – 0 as 1 – 2. SAtill, we are getting better – the D is improved over last year – Murray is learning and will only get better / hopefully, we will be playing with all of our starters soon.

If I remember correctly, Vince Dooley had several subpar seasons of 6-5 or 7-4, and people weren’t calling for his head. So we aren’t going to be national champs this year. Facts are this:

Richt has not had a solid team in the last 3 or 4 years. Yes, they ended up # 2 BUT beyond that it has not been good and that same year we were BLOWN OUT by UT.

Richt loses the big games now and even the medium big games like SC and Arkansas. SC barely beat Furman yesterday and Lattimore only had 67 yds. GT in 09 was nice but they too are lousy and from a lousy conference. GT in 09 had no D …………that alone is why UGA could run on them, not because we suddenly found a running game some some D a–es thought.

Richt builds good ACC 90s type of teams BUT he IS in the SEC. This is a huge part of our problems. We are built on an antiquated model ……….FSU in the 90s.

UGA is not now nor have they been considered a physical squad in years. See the above comment. Huge part of our problem because SC and Arkansas are NOT very physical squads but STILL they manhandled UGA .

MSU is a very physical squad …………their coach will make that part of their mental game plan …….to shove UGA around on both lines …………gets in their heads too. Watch the game and you all will see this …………physicality of lil old MSU vs UGA.

We are in trouble. I saw this same thing with Ray Goff and until the money alums call AD McGarity and Adams ………..it will continue.

Recruiting has been downturning for a couple of years ……….why we have NO running backs or NO LINEMEN. Period. This year ………..that negative will accelerate.

I think Georgia should forget the season and play only to try and destroy Florida’s season! Florida is definitely not as strong as previous years but still as fast as ever! However, they are showing some vulnerabilities. Urban Meyer is one of the biggest A-holes coaching in the SEC, he had to cave in this week to media scrutnity to let a player go for a death threat, but it went against every bone is his body. He does not care if his players are criminals, he is a win at any or all costs type of coach. Georgia needs to win the GA-FLA game at any or all costs this year!

UGA and has a HUGE fair-weather fan base who will demand Richt’s head at the end of this season and the only thing that *might* save Richt is a win over Floriduh, but the odds of are slim at this point even taking into consideration Floriduh isn’t exactly great this season but unlike UGA they are improving with each game.

I don’t know how much money the guy at Oregon is making or Jim Harbaugh is making but I think either of them would be a good choice. Although I think Harbaugh may go to the NFL when given the chance. Several with good points. Everything about Al I’ve heard is that Saban runs the WHOLE show. So is Al excellent defense b/c of Smart or Saban? I’m bettin Saban.

As for Muschamp, his D seems to show fair number of lapses too, and I’m pretty sure Mack Brown lets him run the show.

Of the other option, Petersen of Boise has the resume, but can a WAC coach compete in thr SEC? Urban Meyer made the transition quite well.

It’s all fantasy anyway, doesn’t seem like UGA has the finances to make the change

According to Richt after we lose a game or two each season…”We lack depth”; Defense is inexperienced; too many injuries on the offensive line; etc. Now Mark…you are saying we are too young! Tired of the excuses!!! I would fire the employee that never reached the goal I had set who continuously gave excuses. Fact is we have the most experienced offense ever under a Richt team and still can’t win games except the cupcake one. Believe last year Tech in Atlanta lost several offensive linemen and they simply plugged in backups and kept winning. Auburn is playing with an inexperienced QB and they are winning. Alabama has 9 new starters on Defense and they are winning. Fact is they all have better football coaches. When will we get a coach that is truly gifted? We have the resources to get the talent if only we had the right man.

WE NEED A NEW STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM! Please guys, listen. It’s obvious that we get physically beaten up front, and we miss tackles and give up extra yardage after contact. That’s brut strength, which we need to improve on. BUT, the effects of a top notch strength program that very few realize unless you actually played the game at a high level is that the team is built from January until August, in the weight room, on the track, steps, etc. If kids buy in, and truly give 100% to the conditioning program and assuming the program is the best it can be, below no other team, the kids will not jeopardize themselves or the team, because they have paid such a great price.

Kids will not act foolish in public, risking arrests, jail time, and suspensions that will damage the team and themselves individually. Why? They have invested a great price. On the field, kids will not make careless and selfish mistakes such as dumb personal fouls (We had KEY 15 yard penalties in each of the last 2 games). They will do their job on every play, and not try to be a make a selfish play, ultimately resulting in a big play for the opposition (see winning TD yesterday). If a kid is 100% invested in a program, resulting from giving his all in the off-season, he’s mentally prepared and soesn’t make the careless errors like jumping offside, lining up wrong, or forget an assignment.

Overall, the strength program is the boot camp. it gets the players prepared for the mission. We are lacking a good boot camp, our players are not prepared. It’s not Bobo, Grantham, hell it wasnt even Martinez. Richt however chooses the strength coach and OK’s his methods so he is 100% at fault for not having the kids physically and mentally prepared.

HogFan, I agree with you that calling our players thugs is not helpful. What I have a problem with is all the antics UGA players do after a routine play…that suggests a lack of discipline on the part of the coaches. You just do not see much of that with Saban’s team.

Most UGA fans want Coach Richt to be successful. He is a good guy and he is a loyal guy. His loyalty has hurt him and the program. It is easy to bash coaches, especially with today’s spoiled society. Let’s hope we improve the rest of the year. Alot of football and opportuities left.

Back to football. Can anyone explain why Kwame Geathers and Bean Anderson aren’t getting more PT. The one time I saw Geathers in the game he blew up the middle and tackled the Hog RB for a two yard lose. Every time Geathers has been in the game he’s more than held his own. Bean was the projected starter 1.5 weeks before the start of the season and has rarely played. There’s got to be something going on that is preventing these guys from playing, because right now it doesn’t make sense. Tyson is a heck of player, but he’s undersized by 25 lbs. to be a nose tackle and yet he gets the vast majority of snaps. Another personnel mystery is Kiante Tripp… I haven’t seen him make a play on D in two years.

I am surprised at you! There were so many problems in the last two games I hardly know where to begin. For you to think we will finish 9-3 is beyong belief. Almost all of the remaining teams on the schedule could beat us this season.

The problem is the same as the one last year and the year before that. Mark Richt is way out of his league. Saban, Myer, Spurrier, Miles (even Kiffin) have made Richt out to be a clown.

He should have been gone a year ago. Regrettably, he will be kept on for another year before he’s non renewed. He’ll have taken his millions and left UGA with a bankrupt team.

This program has gotten worse with time, even with great recruiting classes. Our team reflects the coaches’ fire and enthusiasm, and this present coaching staff not only have no enthusiasm, but cannot control the team on and off the field. Also, needlesss to say, the offense is the same one we’ve run for the past few years. Very sad.

As a Carolina graduate with a daughter that graduated from Bama, I love and follow SEC football. For the life of me, I do not understand how the UGa problems continue without correction. Carolina ran over you all with the best ‘09 HS player out of SC and Bama will start first year players in their defensive backfield, but UGa will not play the best ‘09 HS player, Ogletree, that I saw in the state of GA last year. No wonder you’ve become a second tier SEC team. Bad coaching, poor evaluation of coaches and talent, and bringing in players that are bad apples. Finally, with all the problems that UGa has experience with law breakers, how can they still bring in the HS qb from Charlotte next year that was suspended from HS this year? What kind of message does that send if you what to clean up your act?? Look for more of the same. Go Gamecocks and Tide!!

Well, you have a point. Look at what Petrino has accomplished in short order in Arkansas with few resources. Look at what Saban did at Alabama – practically worst to first. In Alabama of all places! Now look at all the Georgia players who have gone on to become not just NFL players, but elite, superstar, pro-bowl NFL players. Richt has had better players than anyone, but never got the job done even with the best talent. When you’ve got NFL ProBowl championship talent, but you aren’t getting the championship, your problem lies in one place: the coach.

Definition of stupid: Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. That sentence should be engraved on Sanford Stadium in big, bold letters because it is the mantra of Georgia.

I think we have the talent and ability on the team – what we don’t have is a head coach that can fire inefficient assistants and demand disipline. Maybe Richt is burned out or has just lost interest in UGA.

I am loyal Bulldog fan as anyone. When the Bulldogs are not winning everyone is quick to blame the coaches and want him to be replaced. When they are winning they are treated as heros. We need to remember several things One thing has to be remember,several key players have let down their team by either getting in trouble with the law or breaking NCAA rules. These are things that the coaches tried to control but it is up to the players to be responsible for their own actions and not let their teammates and fans down.
The other thing that we should also remember that the SEC is one of the toughest conferences in the country. All the teams in the conferences contains some of the greatest players and coaches in football that this country has to offer. This makes it extreme hard for any one team from year to next to have winning seasons especially when they have to play other SEC teams and complete for the same players to recuit.
The coaches biggest job is to built character among the players for teamwork and later for life. Richt in his program over the years has done this and we should remember this. Also we should remember unlike the NFL, players are not pay to play and are not professionals. They must studied every night on their school subjects and keep up their grades.
My question for all these Saturday so called coaches is ” If you know so much about what plays to call, why are you not a Coach for some SEC team?”
Lets show support our team and coaches this year. Let them know that we back them win or lose so they can fully take care of business of winning the next game and one thing less to worry about each week! Once the season is over then we can gave our opinions about what should have been done. GO BULLDOGS

I’m very proud of our young Bulldogs.

They’ve had some struggles, but they’re going to be OK.

But shame on A.J. Green, who has brought dishonor to his teammates…and for what?

A few pieces of silver. Pitiful.

I think the Dawgs could have won the Arkansas game with A.J., and possibly the S.C. game.

I hope he feels like crap for letting his teammates down. He should.

Still, the season’s young. Dawgs will rebound.

Personally I am tired of hearing about the new defense and the freshman QB. This team is unfocused, undisciplined, and unprepared. The freshman QB is our best offensive player right now. The OL that is supposed to be one of the best in the country, is TERRIBLE. The secondary, which was supposed to be the strength of this defense, is a JOKE. The problems with this team will not be fixed with experience at the QB spot or the defense becoming more comfortable with the new system.

Here is the bottom line:
Donnan’s last 4 years as UGA coach: 22-10 in conference.

Richt’s last 4 years in conference: 20-12, including a pathetic 8-6 at home.

Now we are 0-2 in conference which hasn’t happened since Goff.

This is not a one year problem. It is an ongoing issue that will only be fixed with wholesale changes from the top down. We will never improve again under this staff. The program is stale and stagnant and shows no signs at all of coming back.

The time for change is now. Buy out the contracts, wipe the slate clean, and say good riddance to the inevitable transfers.

Bobo better get to work with his backs on pass blocking. He blames Murray for that last sack. Well, SOMEONE taught Ealey the “lookout block.” That’s the one where you miss your assignment at scream “LOOK OUT” at the QB. Murray was well-protected until that DE got by Ealey. He can’t drive and he can’t block. What good is he?

Murray’s numbers are gradually improving. If the d@mn O-line will start opening some holes for the backs, he’ll have the time he needs to make things happen. But the truth is, the receivers have got to get off their coverage better and the play calling is just atrocious.

Attention Searles!!! Sturdivant is healthy and ready to go full speed ahead. Put him back at LT, Boling at RT and start running the toss sweep more. This will make the linebackers have to adjust, loosen up the middle lanes a little and the running game will improve exponentially. Right now, they are stacking the box to stop the run but since we are not mixing in enough sweeps and bootlegs by the QB, they are overwhelming the front and getting to Murray too easily. He can’t make his living staying in the pocket, that isn’t his forte. Murray doesn’t have to run from the bootleg, by the way. He is very comfortable rolling out and throwing downfield on the run. Neither Chris nor Josh Davis give him or the offense that flexibility.

Just an observation.

On the last drive yesterday, where were the underneath routes? Where were the backs and tight ends? Murray had no where to throw it to keep the chains moving. Why? Because the receivers were all 20-30 yds downfield, that’s why.

Yeah, Murray could have avoided getting sacked by throwing the ball away a couple times yesterday. But in the those particular situations, that wasn’t the issue. He was trying to make something, anything, happen…especially on the that final drive. The blocking was poor, but the play-calling let him and the rest of the team down.

Richt needs to take back the reins right now. Not two weeks from now when AJ comes back…..now! Let Bobo coach the QB’s the rest of the year. Then, if need be, go out and find a quality OC to take his place for next season. Stacey Searles needs to figure out what the problem is with the line and fix it or he needs to go, too. And Tony Ball definitely needs to be replaced. He has too much talent at receiver and it is being pi$$ed away under his tuteledge. Why are we running so much in the red zone? Why are we not taking advantage of our height and skill in the passing situations? Because Ball has the wrong receivers in the game and Bobo is incompetent.

Yeah, AJ is sitting but Durham and Brown have both proven they have reliable hands. Have we completely abandoned use of the fade route? Rantavious Wooten has shown he can’t make the catch in crunch time and Troupe is marginal at best. But TK and even Logan Gray have shown the ability to hang on to balls in heavy traffic. The tight ends are not being used enough, either.

Murray is definitely for real and we need to utilize his skill sets better, that’s a given. But until our O-line can figure out what’s wrong with their run blocking, we have other options. We need to start taking advantage of them.

It is officially getting late in the game. Need to light this baby up right now.

Offensive Coordinator, University of Georgia football program. Some experience at the Division 1-A level preferred. Must have extremely thick skin, as the head coach is made of Teflon and the coordinators and position coaches at UGA get all the blame for the teams failures but little credit for its successes.

To all the critics seeking instant gratification, consider that the kids who were recruited for a different defensive scheme are all learning a new one, which takes some time and growing pains. Alabama’s defense the first year under Saban (with someone else’s recruits) was not so spiffy either (recall the loss to La-Monroe was it at home?). I am concerned about offensive failures, like the 2-3 third down pass plays with NO checkdown receivers in relatively short yardage situations where Murray was subsequently sacked. What the H— was that? Also, we really need to land Isiah–our backs simply lack the speed to run outside, as several plays which were well blocked netted little in situations where a half-step more speed could have led o big gainers.

It does seem that hard times flush the chumps.

Most sensible Dawg fans were predicting 9-3 or 8-4 before the season started. I must add I was glass half full at 10-2. I’m adjusting that to 9-3 now. Unforseen circumstances. Most rational fans thought that SC, ARK, UF and AU were possible losses, though hope was we would find a way to win one or two of those. Well we’re 0-2 so far so we’ve got to find a way to beat UF and/or AU.

We’re about to string together a few wins and “should” go to Jax at 5-2.

I have been disappointed so far but I am not yet disheartened. I would not give the coaching staff and A but I certainly wouldn’t give them an F either. So far what I have seen is a lack of execution at crucial times, especially on third down, on both sides of the ball. Is that a lack of coaching, a lack of experience, or the player’s lack of something to fill the chest cavity and the space between their ears?

It was a tough loss. Get ‘em next week though!

Bottom line is we suck right now and we need a new OC right now, not later. Bobo needs to resign today or be fired tomorrow. The DBs have got to play better and we need to recruit real LBs not converted ones from DE. That’s not going to happen next year because we have let all the good LB commit to other programs. We need to do a better job recruiting the right people and a whole lot better coaching and preparing the players. This program needs a big change and if the HC can’t give, it’s time he is replaced. Next year is not good enough because then it would be the same excuse the next year. Plan and simple Bobo is not the answer. He does’nt have a clue to coaching QBs or calling plays. I’m tired of hearing about Green being suspended, one player does’nt make the team and he doesn’t play defense or call the plays. I’m not sure if we can beat Vanderbilt or Idaho State right now and Colorado looks pretty tough right now. So, it’s now or never. BOBO NEEDS TO GO NOW!!!!!!!

After 10 years with CMR and observing his approach to program management and coaching I am asking myself the Melvin Udall question “What if this is as good as it gets?”. After watching the Carolina and Arkansas games, it is painfully obvious there is a serious issue with understanding and utilizing player and coach resources. I hate to ask the question, but does Richt actually know how to assess coaches or players? I am beginning to believe Richt has little regard for the univeristy traditions and fan base.

UGA has become a mediocre program which will get to a bowl game every year by beating out-of-conference cupcakes like Iowa state and wining against lower-tier SEC teams. Alabama is in a calss of its’ own…LSU, South Carolina and Auburn are behind them…and UGA will always be better than Ole Miss and Vandy. That leaves the Dogs stuck in the mid-pack with Missy State, Kentucky, Tennessee etc.

Nothing happens if we lose at Starkville at that could easily happen…I think the fans unfortunately will pretty much toss it in for Coach Richt….I still think Coach Richt is the right person for the dawgs but there are still more changes that need to be made, on the offensive side of the ball…Clearly the last few seasons that to me has been our weakness, despite the defensive problems..We have to be fair with Coach Grantham and give him time to develop the defense..we wanted change and we got it but the talent on the defensive side is not what you think it is compared to Bama or the gators…The gators have 10 interceptions this year and that is surely helping their anemic offense..we are not getting that from our defense at this point…Everyone seems to think there is a savior out there…Kirby Smart..do you really think its because of him that Bama is where they are, yes he is an asset, but is he the savior..Muschamp, well Texas has him lined up to be their head coach….Would he could home and be the savior…or is he just a very good defensive coach…I hear the name Peterson out there alot…Could he dominate against Saban and Meyer in the SEC…People we have to get some big time recruits in here and they have to produce..Everyone talks about how good of recruiting we usually have, well thats pretty much true..but we may be having a top ten class, but Bama and the Gators are having the number 1 or 2 classes for the last few years….If we make a change at the end of the season in our Head Coach, then is the fan base willing to be patient and realize we will lose alot of recruits and some very good ones for next year and willing to go thru the rebuilding process…What happens if the savior doesn’t do so well and then what dawg fans…I truly believe Coach Richt has earned our support, no i’m not happy with our results this year or the past few years, but Coach Richt’s overall record is one of the best but he is having to compete in one of the toughest conferences around and against the likes of Sabon and Meyer..not many could hold up well against them at this point..I think the rest of the season and how it plays how will deternine Coach Richt’s fate..I as a true dawg fan will still be behind him and hope he can make the changes when he evaluates the program at the seasons end…

Mississippi State has no offense. The Miss-State Defense can stop the run. M-S does have a punter.
Georgia will have to throw the football, but they should win against State.

Miss. State’s DL is plays very physical, and Grantham has to prepare for 2 offenses, the plays run by Russell and the plays run by Relf. They hung with Auburn for a pretty tough game, but ultimately Newton ran over them.

Dawgster, waiting until the season is over to assess the team and coaches is too late. A coach and particularly a head coach has to be able to observe, evaluate and correct immediately. He’s paid handsomely to do that otherwise “this is as good as it gets”.

You and Steak need to remove your heads from CMR’s lap and realize UGA is a sinking ship. It was just 2 years ago, you and the other UGA homers had UGA winning the National Championship, and now look…..You think this is a relevant program on the national level? Nope.

No one outside of the South really cares one bit about UGA. Fact.

UGA supposedly recruits on the same level as my Gators, and yet the programs aren’t even close.

UGA isn’t a Top 15 program any more, and until CMR is let go, UGA will continue to win a max of 8 games a season. This is a mediocre year in the SEC, especially the East, and yet UGA is a non factor. That alone should tell you everything….

I’ll enjoy yet another easy win in Jax in just over a month. hahahaha

just a thought , not a soution. If you are gonna burn the redshirt years of players such as Mason and Ogletree Brothers ECT this year why not try them out and see if maybe there is something there. Masons only game experience so far was possitive and on special teams this weekend ogletree was a beast. At 1-2 why not at least see what they got. worst that can happen is they get some experience and who knows maybe they are a solution to some very evedent problems.

It’s very entertaining to read these posts. The simple truth is that UGA is just a mediocre football team with mediocre coaches. The coaching staff is totally unable to recognize players’ talents and assign them the most suitable positions. Conversely, Alabama is a supurb football team with supurb coaches. The Alabama coaching staff has the capability to match talents with positions. The results are all too obvious; Alabama succeeds while UGA disappoints. The Alabama program got fed up with mediocrity a few years ago and went out and hired a coach who is serious about winning. The Georgia program ostensibly is okay with losing because no significant coaching staff changes have been made. Different year – same result. What really, truly amazes me is the fact that Georgia is able to keep selling out their games!! Where do these fans come from??? Why do they continue to pay to watch such mediocrity? It just doesn’t make sense.

This team is average at best right now. With AJ Green coming back you will see some improvement. I suspect we will see the usual CMR surge towards the end of the season (a few big wins and the usual, boy are we going to be great next year!@#$). Next year comes and more of the same.
The question is this. If you fire CMR, who do you get? Ask Tennessee fans how that is working out for them right now.

Yeah, Florida is a bunch of “underachievers”….3-0 underachievers. I think underachieving is losing two games you expected and should have won…..South Carolina and Arkansas. Florida wins when they don’t play well because of coaching (Meyer). Georgia loses when they should win because of coaching (Richt). “Underachievers?”…well….I would take 3-0 or 1-2 anyday if that is “underachieving.”

The Tennessee QB was not “5 yards out of bounds” when the Florida player hit him. He was right on the sideline. The call could have gone either way. I think the ref did not throw a flag because the Florida player let up as he hit the Vols QB. I was not surprised that the ref didn’t throw a flag….and I would not have been surprised if he had. And your comment about the refs not reviewing the call on the goal line….the replay clearly showed that the ball was over the goal line when the Florida players knee hit the ground. No replay was necessary. You are just a blind homer who wants to make excuses for his own team’s poor play on the field. Like…..”The only reason we lose to Florida is because of the refs.” Give me a break. You lose because Florida has better players and those players are better coached.

Emorydawg, stop wondering right now. This is as good as it is going to get for the rest of the decade unless UGA makes significant changes. Mostly 6-6 or 7-5 seasons with perhaps an 8-4 thrown in once in a while. It all spells mediocrity. More players getting arrested (lack of discipline). More injuries (lack of conditioning). More pathetic losses (lack of coaching). I’m sorry for your team but they’re just average.

I recommend you check yourself into rehab right away if you REALLY think UGA is going to go on an 8-1 run. That is just plain irrational. I had them 9-3 with a win over EITHER SC or Ark. Neither happened. I now have them 7-5 with three more losses to whoever. Doesn’t matter, every game they play will be a challenge except maybe Vandy and Idaho State.

When are you brainless twits out there going to realize that Kirby Smart already turned UGA down. And believe me, you do not want him as a head coach.
Grantham does not have the players right now to run his defense. This will come in his recruiting. For now, he might need to go back to a zone D. his guys are not capable of man to man. But he already recruited some great players last signing day, and he will get the rest next signing day that are suited to his style of D.

For three years I’ve been watching this situation develop without saying anything about the overall impression of Coach Mark Richt that I get as an outside observer. I think “passivity” would be the descriptive word in the context of how most other head coaches relate to their responsibilities and their environment. It would seem that others in the environment, including assistant coaches and players may have difficulty in relating to this passivity.

For the assistant coaches, it would seem to contribute to uncertainty about how to do their jobs. For the players, it may be a contributing factor in lack of discipline and behavioral problems. Coach Todd Grantham has commented recently that he has had to adjust to coaching at the college level. I believe that most of his adjustment issues are to to the local environment rather than the college level in general.

First of all, I’m not surprised about the outcomes so far. What does UGA expect when you start rookie QB’s back to back years. I don’t care how good your QB is they need time to develop. Starting Joe Cox was a huge mistake last year. Second of all, Bobo is one of the worse OC in the country. If his plays are predictable by somebody just watching the games every saturday, imagine how predictable they are by coaches watching films all week. Third of all, the fact that Bobo blames a rookine QB for the sacks is ridiculous. He’s the coach and he’s blaming the QB. Why not take blame for a 3rd and 4 and sending all receivers 20 yards down the field? CMR better start taking control or he won’t be here much longer.

Hey Emorydawg…niobody said you didn’t assess your team during the season, of course you do…but what you don’t do during the season is fire coaches and throw away your season after the third game…you evaluated where your program is at the end of the season and i’m sure the new AD will do that as Coach Richt will evaluate the problems and hopefully make the corrections…If the AD feels like the change should be at with head coach, then he will make that decision…I just hope that if that decision is made that the dawg nation will be patient as we will take additional steps back..Something a lot of you don’t realize is that if we were in another conference we may be the top dawg or at least pretty close..but when you have Saban, Meyer…i’m not willling to give any credence to Petrino at this point for a lot of reasons and off only one victory..but bama and gators have it going…we are not there, don’t know when and if we get there, but Coaching is not our only problem…our talent is not except for a few postions, is not on the same level as Bama’a and the gators as much as i hate to say that…remember when we are having a top ten or fifteen recruiting class, Bama, Gators, Au and LSU are having top 5….year in and year out..that is where the problem lies and of course our coaches have got to have some responsibility in that..

I believe we will lose at least 4 more games including the upcoming game in cowbell stadium sat nite. CMR has 2 nails in his coffin–how many more will it take to bury him. I predict his last season at UGA will be 2011. Might help some if he benched Bobo and started calling plays like he did when he first came to UGA. Our offense seems to have no imagination. Our defense uh uh maybe they are imagining some scenario with some of the hot chicks in the stands. I graduated UGA in 1962 and have been a bulldog fan since 1951. This team is beginning to look more and more like the teams Johnny Griffith fielded in the early 60’s. BOY DO WE NEED HELP!

I understand some frustration concerning Bobo, BUT we scored 24 points Saturday. HOW many should we have to score to win? The loss Saturday was on the “D” not the “O” Murray cannot stand in the pocket for as long as he did Saturday and not get sacked. Our line is not turning out to be the monster that I thought it would be.

I think CMR had become a little lackadaisical in the past few years but he gets it now. He has made some changes and it will take a little time for us to see a positive outcome from those changes. I am not so quick to fire him just yet. WHO would we replace him with? Kirby Smart is a great Coach, but it is a whole different ball of wax when you take over that Head Coach’s spot.

Things are probably never as bad as they seem, nor as good as they seem…the Miss State game now is so huge, this team needs a win very badly, but a win against Miss State will get us very little respect…if we could win them all up to the showdown in Jax…then the dawgs-gator game would be a season maker for the dawgs if we could win..Thats how i would be selling it to these young men as the SEC east title is all but gone…SC would have to lose 3 games…i think that is asking alot, but anything is possible..The title still goes thru the gators and unless Coach Richt can start winning a few of them, heck we would take any kind of streak…evern 1 win in a row…I still support Coach Richt but i know his support is starting to fade throughout the bulldog nation..and that is kind of sad as Coach Richt has done a very good job with the dawg program, considering where we were when he took over…but its pretty much what have you done lately, and quiet frankly not beating the gators in Jax very often does not sit well with alot of big time dawg supporters…Years ago a Coach could have good seasons like 8-3, 7-5, 9-3 and such and still be in good graces…this is not the case anymore as our world is very impatieint now and we want instant success…Even though i think Coach Richt’s record and what he has done in the 10 years he’s been here is overlooked too easy, the success that Bama and the Gators have had in the SEC is pretty much what everyone is focused on…I will always be a dawg supporter, and it saddens me to read some of the comments that are directed toward our program by our on fans…If you want to sell your tickets then so be it, we don’t need that kind of support anyway…When we do win an SEC title, hopefully it won’t be long, then you will be amazed how fast the bandwagoners will jump back on…

Either UGA doesn’t have a stats class or you grads didn’t attend that class.

Doesn’t matter. If you rank UGA in the SEC by any meaningful measure – SEC Titles, Win/Loss, etc – you will see UGA is slightly above the middle – and that is the definition of average to above average. There is NOTHING on the history books except 1 NC that suggest otherwise.

Oops – I forgot – you consistently have a top 10 recruiting class. Awesome. Where is the trophy room for that?
