So you were a slacker at 20 Algenis ? That doesn't mean Heyward couldn't do well hitting 2nd-4th like Pujols,Justice,Chipper,Bonds,McGwire, etc. all did AS ROOKIES !

Buckheadbrave : I'm waiting for Wren to ship out Melky,McClouth, and Glaus now.

Shane : Don't bring a knife (your wits) to a gunfight (my wits).

I think you could get a corpse out of the grave to be a better hitting coach than TP is...

Well put. I thought about Heyward in The 4th spot but it doesnt Make sense right now. That's asking a lot for a 20 year old to carry a major league team. When I was 20 my responsability was to go to school and work, you imagine being asked in game # 12 in your career to carry the load? That's insane. What needs to happen is Troy Garbage Glaus needs to find his "stroke". I don't know what to say bout Nate man. I had high expectations bout this kid and look at what he's going through.
Let's get it going guys

I am not going to take up for McLouth, Cabrera or Glaus. However, why are so many people criticizing Escobar? We have played 12 games. There is a 150 games left to live rebound. Truth is, no one is saying much about McCann or Chipper either. Realistically, Heyward and Prado are the only guys in the lineup that have done much of anything.

Let them play. It's still April.

Name me one other team that does not have their best hitter batting clean-up. Thats what I thought. So even tho it is early on, what is wrong with Bobby to also have a "non hitter", Glaus, hitting in a spot, suposedly, to protect Brian and Chipper? And if Chipper doesn't come around soon, why not move him down where he belongs? (in Heywards spot.) It is always about coaching and I look forward to the Braves new coach next year.

collegedude, escobeast, kshizzle, pdub etc: thank you for intelligently stating the obvious and not falling for the Bradley company line spin that one of the best hitters on the team should bat 7th to avoid a "top heavy" lineup. I doubt the validity of Bradley's alleged source, but then again given the headscratching mgmt decisions and Cox lineups over the years maybe he was actually told that. What is amazing is that Mark Bradley is so lacking in fundamental baseball knowledge that he would blindly go along with that warped thinking and publish an article that smugly finishes with "my advice to you fans, no charge", as if we are the idiots. Yeah Mark, thanks for enlightening us dummies that your best on base % guy and slugger should set the table for the 8 and 9 hitters. Perhaps you can pass your wisdom on to the rest of MLB "free of charge". I'd love to see Ryan Howard batting further down in the lineup far away from Chase Utley.

Mark Bradley

The idea is not to cluster — apologies to Sonny Clusters — all your bad hitters in succession.

No, apparently the idea is to spread out the bad hitters amongst the other hitters so that there is no chance of even starting a rally. Let's not put pressure on opposing pitchers to get an out from 5 solid hitters in a row. Let's instead give the pitchers an easy out or two ever 2nd or 3rd at bat & let them take their chances with the law of averages (where 1 hit in 4 at bats has become acceptable in MLB today)with the rest of the order.

This guy makes no sense. Bat your best hitter seventh so you don't have 2 bad hitters next to each other. What!?! So if we traded Hayward for pujols we would bat pujols 7th? (I know hayward isn't pujols but i'm making a point) I don't have any faith in melky or glaus. and i'm skeptical of chipper, i think he will be ok but not good. i know escobar will come around he is a BEAST. I'm not totally down on Mcclouth, i no he sucked in spring and so far but he is getting on base and i like what he can do more then what melky can....that being said i would like to have him platooning him with diaz in the leadoff spot. bobby also needs to do platoon Hinsky and Glaus. Everybody who says bring up freeman are idiots! he is sucking it up in AAA and is left handed. We already have a left handed bat in Hinsky for first base!
