Milwaukee — OK, here’s the plan. We’re going to tip off our NCAA tournament coverage with a live chat off the afternoon games, same as we did a year. As some of you might recall, last year’s chatting was done from my house.
Some might also recall the action photo of my propped-up feet. (For reasons unclear, y’all found this the height of hilarity.) Far be it from me to flout tradition, so I offer another action shot of MB’s tootsies, only this time the venue has changed. I’m ensconced in my plushly appointed hotel across the street from the arena where Georgia Tech will hold an open practice later today.
Because I need to wander over for that — you never know when the coach might say something nice about the media — we won’t make this an all-day affair. We’ll start around 12:15 p.m. EDT — I’m on CDT, FYI — and we’ll go until the opening games of the day are done.
We can talk about the ongoing games, if you’d like, but we can also broaden our horizons. You can ask me about Tech, about Tech’s coach, about Bradley’s Bracket Fiasco (nee Final Four Fiasco). Heck, you can ask me about Dunta Robinson or Josh Smith or Jason Heyward. I’m in an expansive mood, and I’ll be happy to converse for the next 3 1/2 hours. Join me, won’t you?
But give me a few minutes first. I have an appointment for a pedicure.

Here's my new location: Major Goolsby, a sports bar across the street. (Photo by M. Bradley)

Mark- Serious Question. Who’s more likely to win: an unprepared Lehigh or a Kansas team taking the court just after a large helping of my Dad’s vinegar based pulled pork BBQ? Remember, they are playing in Oklahoma City, if that matters to you at all…

Well said MB. Lots of close, ugly college basketball.
I have a question: Is the NCAA tourney over-rated? Sure, some of the games have exciting endings but the quality of play is poor. And the officiating is horrendous.
My vote for worst CBB coach with 2 titles? Roy Williams.

Picky picky Mr. Bradley. If you want good games on day 1 maybe you should urge them to go to a 16 team tournament.
And btw, feet are nasty. Terrible picture to be forced to look at when I clicked on your article. I hope Emilio from Mr. Deeds is a fan of yours. If he wasnt before, he will be now.

Mark – Ed Jucker did win 2 NCs at Cincinnati. Dan also forgot about Jim Calhoun at UConn, Denny Crum at Louisville and Phil Woolpert at USF (he had some guy named Bill Russell on his team).
Looks to me that Billy Donovan IS the worst coach with 2 NC’s

Dan the Nerd,
You made me laugh with Roy Williams. Not that I find it outlandish. Just that I like your call that much.

OK, change of venue: I’m going to try to find a sports bar that’s showing the games and continue the chat from there. (While I eat. Because this hotel DOES NOT HAVE ROOM SERVICE FOR LUNCH.) Give me about five minutes to walk across the street. Thanks for your patience.

BYU is letting the Gators hang around to much. I hope the NCAA fool don’t think that 96 teams would make this Turny better. Only small market TV area would watch some of these games today anyway. If they add 32 more teams I would wait until my team playerd or just the Sweet 16 games. High School Baseballs games would be more fun to watch.

CodyA: I didn’t catch up with all the posts to see if anyone answered your question, but you can see any and all of the games at http://www.CBS.com. Depending upon your monitor and GPU, you can watch them all simulateously.

Mark – As a Milwaukee native, go get yourself a great German dinner at Karl Ratzsch’s or Mader’s. Tomorrow night get a fish fry across the street from the Bradley Center at the old Turner bar/restaurant.

Mark – Turner’s has a good fry and is a historic Milwaukee landmark, right across from the Bradley Center. Also, a little bit up the river is Lakefront Brewery, great local beer and only open for fish fry and polka on Friday nights. But really, 95% of restaurants in Milwaukee have a Friday night fish fry.
