Playgirl wants Vick to apologize to dogs by … posing nude?
According to Life & Style Magazine — a publication with which I’m unfamiliar, perhaps because I have neither a life nor a style — Playgirl has offered Michael Vick $1 million to pose unclad. But if you’re thinking the overture might be a tad tawdry … no worries! The million dollars will go to PETA!
Understand: This wouldn’t be one of those “I’d-rather-go-naked-than-wear-fur” ads for which celebs have posed. (One of them being Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez. Another being, interestingly enough, Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas, who has been suspended from the NBA for being overfamiliar with guns, none of which apparently were used to hunt animals.) The results of any Vick disrobing would run in Playgirl, which would then donate the money to PETA.
According to Life & Style, a Playgirl spokesperson said: “I sent the request to Michael Vick on Wednesday. But we haven’t heard back yet. I figured he paid back society for dogfighting, but what about the animals? This way he could donate a large sum to PETA and all he’d have to do is pose for the magazine! It’s kind of a win-win situation.”
That makes complete sense, doesn’t it? Because, when we get right down to it, does anything say “I’m sorry” like professionally photographed nudity?
I know. It’s crazy. It’s a bad enough idea — just as Vick is trying to reclaim his dignity, let’s have him strip down and forfeit it again — to be one of PETA’s. (You’ll recall that crusading organization wanted to replace Georgia’s live Uga with an “animatronic” dog.) But this wasn’t PETA’s, apparently. This was Playgirl’s. Which would presumably profit from Vick’s appearance in its pages. So there you have it.

Even Playgirl reps stated a few years ago that 50% of their readers are men.
Playgirl has recently featured Levi Johnston, the biological father of Sarah Palin’s grandson.
I think these issues tend to become collector’s items. I still have the November 1987 copy of Playboy featuring Jessica Hahn “Born Again: In Words and Pictures.” It’s in excellent condition. Then again, I am gay.

I don’t believe that Vick should pose for Playgirl. He’s paid a lot more for his crime than anyone else would have for the same offense. Leave him, and his family, be!

Mark this article is a bit misleading. PETA simply suggested that UGA should either go back to traditional standards for their English Bulldog rather than the current obese one that makes the breed much more likely to suffer heart failure (and then WHAM…UGA lost another UGA even Nostradamus couldn’t have made a more timely forecast). PETA only has the animals welfare in concern and can be a bit crazy but they also are responsible for saving endangered species and helping to make public awareness of dog fighting in this nation.
For a million dollars my clothes would be shed! We are born that way and typically get way too uptight whenever a boob makes an appearance!

I’ve never heard of any time where a woman disrobing in a reputable magazine was thought of as a loss of dignity, so why should it be so for a man?
Here’s a quick exercise. Let’s see a show of hands from those who believe a nude spread of Tiger’s wife in Playgirl to help with legal fees” would be a loss of dignity such that you wouldn’t spread apart the pages to have a look?
Yeah, that’s what I thought. Loss of dignity..meh.
Playgirl isn’t for you Mr. Bradley, it’s not for the rest of the guys commenting here. It’s for women(ok and for gay/bi guys whatever) if there is a market for it, so be it. Just because something doesn’t appeal to you doesn’t make it wrong.
PETA could use the money so the least you could do Mr. Bradley besides gag at the idea is to encourage your readers to donate. There are naked women or half naked women running around charity events all the time and I bet you don’t look at them and see a loss of dignity. It’s 2010, men pose nude now, get over it.

PETA and all of these animal rights folks are crazy. Vick has paid his debt for some damn dogs. Why would he,in his right mind humiliate himself, posing naked, to give a million dollars away for animals.He has given enough of his money and life, for his crime. I’m so sick of these white folks trying to crucify every black man that commits a minor crime. This man paid his dues for the incident that happened on his property and from some reports he wasn’t even there. Let the man alone. They were a bunch of damn dogs. When white men go out hunting, shooting birds, and other animals is that not harming animals. They act like a damn animal is more important than human life.
