Here’s what Tiger Woods needs to tell us: Absolutely nothing

I keep hearing and reading that Tiger Woods “needs to come clean.” (Here’s a boilerplate screed from the self-styled King of Outrage.) But you know what I say?

No he doesn’t.

He doesn’t need to say one thing more. He doesn’t have to talk to police, and he hasn’t. That’s his right under the law. And we the people have no overarching Need To Know on this issue. From the above expression of outrage: “The public deserves to hear exactly what happened in the wee hours of Thanksgiving night outside his mansion in Windermere, Fla.”

One question: Why?

It’s clear Mr. and Mrs. Woods had a discussion that didn’t end well. We can surmise that it had to do with the National Enquirer’s report of a Tiger dalliance with a New York nightclub hostess. We the people are not naive. But what exactly is Tiger supposed to say to us after driving his Cadillac into both a tree and a water hazard? (When run over by a vehicle, a fire hydrant qualifies.)

Should he paint himself into a Clinton-esque corner by wagging a finger and saying, “I did not have sex with that woman”? Should he risk being caught in a lie? Or should he admit to being an adulterer and thereby expose his already-exposed family to deeper public humiliation? Where’s the upside in that?

Tiger Woods is a public figure, but that’s not the same as being an elected official. He has asked no one to vote for him. Yes, he’s a serial endorser, but that’s more a matter between him and his sponsors. The corporations who pay him millions must decide if that money will continue to be well spent. (My guess is that they’ll shrug and say, “So what? He’s still Tiger Woods.”)

As hard as this is to believe in the Information Age, there’s such a thing as too much information. Alex Rodriguez held a mass media briefing last spring to address allegations of steroid use, and lo and behold he admitted using steroids. And you know what we in the media did? We ripped him for not telling us the whole truth, for being fuzzy on the details. We in the media can be a little silly sometimes.

And that seems an object lesson: Once you start talking about something seamy, you’re not given credit for facing the issue. You simply throw yourself and your family open to deeper scrutiny. Was the nightclub hostess the first Other Woman? If not, would Mr. Woods  please name names, places and pertinent details? Were photos taken? If so, could you provide them? And was it indeed a 7-iron Mrs. Woods apparently brandished on the morning after Thanksgiving, and if so did she choose the right club?

I say again: We are not naive. We have cause  to believe something is indeed amiss in the Woods marriage. But that is not our business. Nobody has been arrested. No charges have been filed. As much as we might hunger for the latest dollop of dope from TMZ, we have no inalienable right to satiation.

Tiger Woods is a public figure, yes. But even public figures have private lives. He should shut up — to his credit,  that’s what he has done — and tend to his.

It the media that fuels these unrealistic expectations with their over the top coverage of these types of events. They are so desperate for a story they are willing to create one when none is there. I agree with your take on this completely, now lets move on the real news.

Maybe so Bark Madley…we can just wait for the State Attorney’s office to tell us instead…..1 possible misdemeanor (DUI) and 1 possible felony (assualt and battery with a deadly weapon)…domestice violence 101. many folks have had to deal with it in the courts….this married couple would be no different….sadly, the state may take the kids away and ward them to either grandparents 1000s of miles away or else the state.

Mark – I agree but that includes any statement by Tiger or his wife that she had to knock out the back windows of the car to get him out of the front seat when the airbags didn’t even deploy. Maintaining silence does not include lying. Methinks that she did knock out the back windows but hardly in the manner she claims. Tiger does have a duty to cooperate with the police, up to that point where they accuse him of a crime. He is apparently not fulfilling that duty in a manner that would make his mother proud. His decision to not cooperate will likely result in a citation for some traffic offense if only because he hasn’t “come clean.” His argument with his wife is his business until he destroys city infrastructure and requires police officers to respond.
I only know all of these because CBS kept interrupting Alabama-Auburn to tell us all this as if it were important. Yes Mark – no court documents have been filed but a public record (the police report) has been made.

I think it’s important to know for one reason-There is enough information to surmise that Mrs’ Woods probably assaulted Tiger. I would like to know for sure, because if that is the case…Mrs. Woods should either get counseling, get arrested, some message should be sent that it is NOT OK to scratch, cut, punch, etc. anyone regardless of what they did. SHe obviously went nuts and thats understandable, but it is not OK if a man hits a woman, and it should be likewise unacceptable to assault a man. period-I think for that reason its important for the public to see that regardless of the circumstances, and who you are, if you cause someone bodily harm you should be punished.

I agree the adultery accusation is a family issue and not our business.

In my opinion by leaving the roadway and striking fixed objects, and because it was reported to and and responded by emergency services, then how does Tiger not have answer for the accident?

If you or I do that you can bet that we will have to answer to the police. Can regular people tell the cops to “just go away” and “maybe we can talk tomorrow”? I don’t think so. Unfortunately most of us don’t have a team of attorneys to do our bidding for us.

Do the Woods get to “take a mulligan” on this incident because of fame, wealth, and privilege?

I want to agree with Mark, but my curiosity just want let me! Guess that’s why i love Maury and Cheaters. I feel for Tiger to have his private business brought out into public.
But… on the other hand, when you ran your dumb behind out into public and ran over a fire hydrant AND hit your neighbor’s tree, you brought YOUR mess out into the public domain. You should be more like the tech players and taken your butt whuppin’ like a man!
Now we all know good and well that back window was broken BEFORE he took off down the driveway. I know you’re the lord of golf, but who the heck leaves golf clubs lying around the yard? Why would you go grab a golf club and run down the driveway to rescue someone without even knowing what was going on?
What really amazes me is how small this world is… that a Scandanavian chick can come to a posh suburb of florida – AND GO STRAIGHT GHETTO!!! I didn’t even know they have ghettoes in Sweden?
Worse yet, I heard Tiger doesn’t have a prenup! Boy, you better run straight to Jared and buy your woman a Kobe rock!!

AJ

There is a reason that even though he hit a hydrant and emergency personnel responded we are still not entitled to anything: FLORIDA LAW SAYS IT IS OKAY. Under the current laws in Florida, he is only legally obligated to provide a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, & a valid vehicle registration. He does not have to speak to the police. It may be nice if he did, but he is certainly under no obligation to do so. He fulfilled that requirement the morning of the accident. So, if you must “blame” someone for his perceived celebrity treatment, start with the Florida legislature.

Mark, When someone makes a billion dollars and 90% of that was made from being a pitch man and public figure, the rules change. Fair or unfair, Tiger signed an “unofficial contract” with the public along time ago. You make your bed and then you lie in it. You cannot have the perks and monetary rewards that come with fame and then say, “time out”. Again, may not be fair but the other half of that “unofficial contract” states that he owes an explanation.

Any golf game you can do, Tiger can do better.

BUT, IMHO, the wife heard about the alleged mistress. Was probably kicking Tiger’s tail (and face). He left out to escape the beatdown or fuss; crashed into things (OR either they staged the car crash to cover the injuries she inflicted on his face. BUT for him to not simply meet with the FHP is only making everything point to this being more than a simple “Oops, my bad for hitting the fire hydrant/tree.” He doesn’t want to be seen. She probably beat his face!

His statement points to more than being culpable for a simple driving mishap. I read it’s “totally my fault” [i.e., the argument happened (maybe cuz he's been creeping around)]; the wife–he defends her (trying to score points) and not point a finger at her for beating his ‘cabalasian’ derriere [cough, cough, cough]. And that this ‘will never happen again’ and ‘he’s only human, not perfect”‘…that’s not about simply hitting a tree. That’s a WHOLE lot more than that. I’ve said it before and will again…men cheat. Wives need to realize it. and it doesn’t matter who he is, what profession he’s in, or how noble he profeses to be. The biggest protestors are easy to fall…then try to hide. But his statement didn’t do him any good. people aren’t stupid. Not everyone anyway.

Also, is ironic that golf clubs were being thrown at instead of by Tiger? Seriously, is this thing on?

I agree with you Mark, if Jay Mariotti says to do something, do the opposite. As long as he fulfills his obligation to the police and his insurance company, so be it.

Tiger Woods has complied with the Florida law regarding his accident. He provided his license, registration, and proof of insurance card. HE doesn’t have to do anything else despite what the media and the general public thinks. How about this novel idea? Let the Windermere, FL police and the Florida state police do their investigations and let them release their results when finished. Great point Jamerson, that burns…

We haven’t won a national championship in nearly 30 years, ya’ll haven’t won one in nearly 20.

Let’s see, in the last 20 years UGA is 15-5 against Tech and has 2 SEC titles and 3 BCS appearances.

How many conference titles and BCS appearances does Tech have? Oh wait, zero, nooooooooo.

RE: ““We” didn’t “make” Tiger Woods anything. Tiger Woods made himself. Get real.” – Mark Bradley @ 3:46 pm

Sorry, Mr. Bradley, but you are DEAD WRONG on this one.

Without golf fans and their disposable income to spend on golf tickets/passes, golfing supplies, sportswear and good & services provided by parent companies which sponsor the PGA and professional golfers, Tiger Woods is merely just a guy who can hit a little, white ball into a hole with the fewest number of strokes in comparison to his competitors. If no there is no money involved, he is just someone doing a “stupid human trick” for his own amusement.

There are countless rednecks who can spit into a can from 20 yards with pinpoint accuracy or win flatulence competitions, but they are not celebrities are adored by the public & media because no one cares to pay money to watch that garbage and large companies have no interest in wasting money to sponsor that on television since no one cares to watch it.

The public “makes” celebrities, and it is that same public (particularly the media) that makes a spectacle of tearing down from their apex. There is less entertainment value in bringing down an obscure person of whom no one has (yet) heard.

Gold is only worth a great deal of money, because we collectively say that it is. Otherwise, it is just a bunch of shiny, yet malleable, rocks.

If no one cared about golf and no $$$ involved was involved, no one would care about Tiger Woods.

At last I read a journalist who refuses to subscribe to the tedious refrain of presumed self-importance on what are private matters! I agree fully with your point of view.

There was an era when journalism kept a check on its pomposity by understanding that only when laws are broken, or elected officials are involved, does the public truly have a need to know (much less a right).

The way the media is acting justifies why the rich and famous now live in gated communities so they can escape the tiresome voyeurism of the media and their paid hacks known as paparazzi. We would all be better served if the media returned to its core justification — to keep watch on government and ignore the private intrigue of disempowered people!

And part of keeping watch on government is for the media to divorce itself from political advocacy and remember that it has no friends in government, but merely individuals who’s power earns them an unbiased and unblinking eye which the media is served the public mandate to provide!

I didn’t know any of the details of the waitress and really wasn’t interested mark. I also didn’t know that the wreck resulted from the aftermath of a fight between his wife and Tiger. At least until I read your article. If it’s no “body’s business”, why are you spreading all this gossip. You point the finger at others, yet do the same crap yourself. You are peddling smut and dirty laundry, face it.
In my opinion, he would have been better served to have just given a brief “man, I dropped something as I was backing out and bam! I crashed into the hydrant, in lurching forward to disengaged from the hydrant I then hit a tree, not exactly proud moments for me and you can imagine why I am now going to let the matter rest and won’t speak to y’all about it again.”
When he decried all the false stories out there, he should have set the record straight and then stopped talking about it.

Tiger Woods made Tiger Woods, Barack and Larry. He has been honing his craft for literally as long as he can remember, and neither you nor I nor MB nor anyone else can take credit for it simply because we pay to see him play. He’s the greatest golfer in the universe — and it’s not even close — and he’s cultivated an image and a trademark that no one can touch.

Tiger made a mistake — most likely, though not for certain — and the sensationalist masses that love to tear people down will do what they will from this point forward. As far as Tiger owing anyone other than the Swede an apology or explanation, outside of the minor stuff with the police, it’s a silly proposition.

I hope he comes out the other side okay.

WGAS? They had a marital spat, Tiger leaves in anger (or under 7-iron duress) and drives off into the rough. Alcohol was not involved. Blood samples will reveal illicit drug use if it was there, and beyond that the public has no need to know. Sure, the cops will try to get warrants, etc, but at this point any security videos will have been erased and any other evidence removed from the house. My guess is a judge says “who’s pressing charges” and the answer is no one. Tiger is human – who knew?

From what has been reported, Tiger to this point has complied with FL law. He may have to pay for repairs but I think he has the ability. If he wants to speak about it, privately or publicly, that is his choice.

His statement is that he wants to maintain his privacy. I doubt if we will hear further comment. If it turns out his wife attacked him (spousal abuse) and he doesn’t want to press charges, again, not my concern.

If a sponsor wants to get an additional comment, let them ask. If the public wants to stop supporting Tiger because he refuses to speak publicly on this matter, I would be very surprised. This is a non-story except for the tabloids and News Corp.

I agree that since no laws were broken that he doesn’t have to explain to police what happened.BUT…that being said, perception is reality, correct? The perception of people who alude questions about anything(famous athlete’s are no exception)is that they are guilty. When someone pleads the Fifth Amendment(even though it THEIR LEGAL RIGHT)most people jump to the conclusion of where there is smoke there is FIRE!
Tiger is one of the greatest golfers of all time(and his driving on and off the course seems to be his bugaboo)so if let’s someone else drive him he might live long enough to be the GREATEST of ALL TIME! BUT,even Tiger knows that his skills as a golfer is what got him started. The rest is HIS PERSONNA and CHARISMA!Everyone thinks that this guy is SUPERMAN BUT HE IS HUMAN and humans make mistakes. But,that said, one of the best qualities a human can have is to cleanse one’s SOUL when the opportunity presents itself. One of the things I admired about TW is that he surrounds himself with friends of the same cabiber, like Michael Jordan. He was the same way in his playing days. You didn’t read a lot of gossip mags with headlines that involved MJ.He DID HIS TALKING on the court and handled himself with CLASS and was a CLASSY ROLE MODEL for the youth who grew up watching him and TW is PERSON now for this generation.
Tiger, you are a class act and even though you legally don’t have to EXPLAIN anything to the LAW,I think even you know that without the FANS,having all the talent in world means nothing. No PGA, no endorsements, NO NIKE! People love to kick people when they are down! They also like to make up stories if the real one is not forthcoming.BUT,another thing AMERICAN’S love to do is forgive someone who comes clean.

Tiger is doing exactly what the rest of us would do in his situation – keep his mouth shut and try to work things out with his wife.

Bob Horner keeps saying that the DA has to file charges in a domestic abuse case. Before he can file charges he needs to have probable cause. What does he have at the moment – nothing. No eyewitnesses, the 2 principals saying it was a trafiic aaccident.

I expect that the attempt to get Tiger’s medical records from the hospital is nothing more than a fishing expedition – the police have already stated that alcohol was not involved.

As someone who has lived in Raleigh-Durham for some time I am familiar with DA’s who do things for publicity

Everybody is tied up on the fact that the air bags didn’t deploy thus it couldn’t have been a bad ax.

Air Bags not deploying means absolutely nothing. In looking at the dmg, it is by far more than a minimal impact. The reason the air bags didn’t deploy is probably because it wasn’t a head on impact to a portion of the frame. The frame probably is swayed slightly but the car absorbed the impact. In doing so, there was not enough of a sudden stop to trigger the air bags to deploy.

Now if Tiger isn’t wearing a seat belt and had too many pain killers in his system, that would explain his condition at the accident scene. If his wife had a fight with him prior and bashed out the glass in frustration and an effort to get Tiger to stop him from leaving, that would explain the broken glass situation.

P. Bull Terrier

Five points here:

1. Tiger is free to tell us absolutely nothing about his accident, but since he’s a public figure, if he chooses to say nothing, the public is free to speculate. The actual event is rarely as dramatic as what the general public comes up with when they start to speculate.

2. Legally, Tiger doesn’t have to tell the police anything, but they should treat him the same way they would treat anyone else who crashed their car into their neighbor’s yard in the middle of the night. I guarantee if I found myself in the same position as Tiger, the police wouldn’t politely wait until I felt like discussing the incident. As soon as I was released from the hospital I’d be heading to jail on some type of charges, and lacking Tiger’s financial resources, I’d have a much harder time avoiding a conviction. Either that, or my wife would be facing a little jail time for assault with a deadly weapon.

3. Mark Bradley is not a reporter/journalist. It’s not his job to investigate the facts. Mark is a sports columnist. His job is to comment on sports and keep readers interested. There are plenty of valid reasons to criticize Mark Bradley, but saying he’s not a good journalist or complaining that he’s not investigating the facts is like complaining that he’s a sorry plumber.

4. I’m sure someone else already pointed out #1 & #2, but I don’t feel like reading through all the junk to see for myself.

5. I know someone else has already mentioned this, but it’s worth repeating … 30-24!

Jealously is an ugly thing.. Especially Southern White jealously of a man who is racially mixed.

I will say this about Tiger. I used to not care for him because I though he was arrogant and a little bit of a race baiter. He has kind of grown on me though. I have started to think that this guy is a fabulously talented athlete, who is very bright and articulate and overall a very classy guy.

He seems to be a good family man. He might have been messing around a little.. That’s might..

Pulling a little Arnie in his heyday… Arnie was known to have two on each side and one waiting and one at home.

Tiger deserves his privacy.. He will take a hit for this. He is a high character guy… It is time to move on.

Once he decided to get in his car and leave his property his “right” to keep it out of the public eye flew out the window Sorry, tigger, that’s life in the fast lane. I think it’s common knowledge that if you are a celebrity you have to be smart enough, 100% of the time, to never put yourself in a situation like this. So sorry that the media is blowing this way out of proportion but this is America, the same America that enabled a net worth near 10 figures.

It’s funny that most golfers aren’t interested in trashy news stories so they want this shoved under the rug. This won’t in anyway shape my opinion of Tiger (wifey, now that’s a different story) but I won’t be crying for him or demanding that his right to privacy be respected. Is it solely because he plays golf that y’all are defending him? A-Rod, Kobe — screw them, they’re criminals. Tiger is a demi-god. ROFLMAO.

I read above the negative tone and general negative feeling toward Tiger Woods. Why?

The guy plays golf very well, earns his money and fame, is a private charitable guy who is not a showboat and dresses very conservatively.
He is a great guy. Very bright. Ryder Cup player. A clean cut All-American guy. What else could you want from a VERY high profile Athlete?
This is why in the long run this is not a big deal.

As far as racism.. I grew up in Georgia and my family is from rural Georgia for many years. Many rural Southern folks are embarrasingly racist and don’t even know it. Many in my family to start with.

A dislike and distrust for African Americans still drives the opinions of MANY Southern whites. MANY folks will never see a black man as an equal. That is what my original comment was about. Tiger was and in many cases is a threat to the status quo Southern view of many people of color.

I am a White Southener and like Tiger very much. He needs to move on from this in s hurry by making amends with his beautiful wife and family and get a new car and 7 iron and fire hydrant,

No El Tigr doesn’t have to tell us anything. And, regardless of what he might say, contrary to my earlier respect for him as a seemingly person of character, it is now on the level of respect that I have for Charles Barkely, Michael Jordan, Lawrence Taylor, et al. I.E., I acknowledge their athletic skills, but in terms of character, which is a more important quality, Tigr and they are simply common. I’m not condemning them, but they are simply common. And he considered to be a spokesman for anything extending beyond the links.

It shouldn’t be lawyers on TV who want Tiger to come clean – it’s the PR folks. Lawyers will always tell their clients to forget about PR, cover your butt and don’t say anything. PR folks are the other way around – “you have to say something to protect your image”, etc.
“Talking heads” and other “experts” on TV are looking for a story.

Tiger has PR problems with this (not to mention marital problems) but I’d be surprised if he has any legal problems.

Not at all, Paul. Privacy exists in the comfort of your own home, or on an encrypted website, or in a bathroom stall with the door closed. For most people, other than extreme definitions within our legal system, that’s the only time when we actually have a “right” to privacy.

That said, I think we may be arguing different points. I don’t think he should be forced to say anything publicly, and if that is exercising his “right’ to privacy, then so be it. But to hear people say this is a non-story and that Tiger should get a free pass because he’s Tiger, and as Rick B so eloquently stated “dresses very conservatively. He is a great guy. Very bright. Ryder Cup player. A clean cut All-American guy.” I think that is a crock. He has just as much responsibility to his fellow citizens in Orlando as anyone else. Getting in the car was his decision and it was a bad one. He should be subject to the same scrutiny as anyone else, and tenfold as it applies to celebrities.

OK, golfers — if this was John Daly and his flavor of the week bashed out his rear window after a spat and he sped off down the driveway and crashed into a tree in the neighbor’s yard — what right to privacy should John Daly have? Would you afford the same amount of leeway to Daly? The difference being that everyone knows John Daly was drunk — somehow the authorities are convinced that alcohol was not a factor in Saint Tiger’s mishap. But, I am Tiger’s age, and I can’t remember the last time I was awake and sober at 2:30 a.m. Perhaps he ordered decaf after dinner and he was mistakenly given the caffeinated variety?

However, the most highly paid athlete in the world, crashes into a fire hydrant and tree 50 feet from his house, after his wife bashes his SUV into a million glass chards (extra keys anyone??), refuses to talk to the police (good luck with that if you’re not TIger), and Bradley says…”nothing to see here folks, move along.” Nauseating, but oh PC and so predictable.

Sure, Tiger can keep quiet. But because of who he is, he is going to suffer a consequence for this if he doesn’t say anything. It’s up to him.

By the way, I think he has to talk to the police. He damaged public property. Shouldn’t he have had to report this to the police anyway? I know a lot of poeple say he doesn’t have to say anything legally. I disagree with that. Why does he have the right to be quiet? Nobody else would?

Jim,

Nobody has the right to be quiet? You never heard of the 5th amendment to the constitution? Everybody has the right to be quiet.

Now, if Tiger’s meighbour wants to sue him for damaging his tree that is well within his rights. That would be a civil matter. What do you bet that they would come to an “accomodation”.

The fire hydrant may or may not be public property. This did happen at a private, gated community afterall so who knows who “owns” the fire hydrant.

Once again, if the hydrant is “private property” (property of Isleworth), you can bet that Tiger will make “restitution”.

He wouldn’t be getting all that accomodation from the neighbours or the country club because he’s a celebrity, but because he’s rich.

To quote an old saying from my homeland “it’s the rich wot gets the pleasure, and the poor wot gets the blame”.

Tiger has affair. Elin finds out and socks him in the kisser. He runs out of the house and she chases him as he gets in the SUV. As he peels out of the driveway, she blasts the rear windows with a golf club. He crasheds into the hydrant and tree. (This isn’t rocket science.)

Apparently, Tiger can only drive under pressure on the golf course.

Ain’t buying Tiger’s story at all. But it is totally up to Tiger to decide what he wants to say on this matter, if anything. The police apparently aren’t pursuing it, beyond collecting a traffic fine. The main concern I do have is this—the incident, whatever it was, had a very violent ending and there are very young kids in the house. So, if it was a domestic dispute, it must been an ugly one and these two need to get some help.

I love golf or at least I did during most of my life, but I will never understand the publics fascination with tiger woods, he is a fine golfer but there can be no bigger asshole cause he is the one and only champ. He walks off the practice course before meeting the crowds. He is a pompous ass, and you can say whatever about him, he finally got caught. I would hate to know I was caused to have an accident by a swede with a golf club. It is pathetically funny. And MB say what you will he is a pompous ass, and now I am glad some other folks see it too.

Why Tiger's plea falls on deaf ears

December 2nd, 2009
11:48 am

First of all Tiger needs to stop insulting people with the notion that is actions are inconsistent with his values. They are entirely consistent with his values. What they aren’t consistent with is his public image he’s tried to portray so he could make a billion dollars.

But when you whore yourself out to the advertising industry, and then try to perpetrate a false image of yourself, then don’t turn around and whine when the public rightfully calls you out on it.

This isn’t about a sports star who’s privacy is being invaded, as poor victim Tiger wants you to believe. It’s about a media whore who got caught selling phony goods, and now wishes he hadn’t got caught.

All he had to do was be honest and live his life as a successful young man who obviously likes to play the field, and has little or no use for monogamy. He still could have sold the watches, the cars, the sports drinks and whatever else he hawks, and not made himself look with a hypocritical fool in the process.

He dosen’t have to come clean. I agree with that. But you can’t critize TMZ and others for running stories on the affairs, women, etc. The public obviously wants to see/read it. I do. I think most are interested in it because we all had an image of Tiger that is now looking alot diff. I think the affairs are wrong and he wife should leave him but I actually respect him more as a golfer now… that he can be that good at golf and having these late night escapades at the same time. My impression was that he had to live and breath golf to be at his level, and could never have time for vegas trips, family, and now other women, etc. But I was wrong, wow what a natural born golf talent he is!

If Tiger wants to be the alpha-endorser, with the marketing of an image that is used to support the endorsements, he can expect some return fire whan the man falls short of the image.

His confession today (issued only after the voicemail message surfaced) that was bundled with a complaint about the need for privacy is Clintonian (thats for teh Republican readers) or Nixonian (for the Dems out there) – if you want privacy quit being a pitchman

who could be surprised at all of this? anyone who has known, associated with, or worked around the ‘golf society elite,’ should just be laughing it off. it is a closed society, to say the least. golfing communities — i know first-hand from THE elite ‘town that is golf’ in southern new jersey — protect their own, welcome only the insiders, and are unusually cruel and uncaring to those who work for them, keep up their lifestyles, and pamper to their every needs. they have their own monarchy, and they protect it above and beyond what could be expected in even the royal kingdom. let me tell you, i have seen this first hand. they all consider themselves ‘above it all’ while raking in millions/billions from those of us who worship them in so many ways. that this happened to Woods is sad, i suppose, but not surprising. he might be a pretty good good guy — surely the best golfer of his age — but he is not immune from the syndrome. there is a children’s song about ‘mr. fly.’ it ends with the admonition, ‘he who climbs too high must fall.’

Tiger will survive the head on collisions with the fire hydrant and tree. He will reappear on the PGA tour with his ferrocious roar and growl. Tiger will roar back on the tour next year and tie Jacks major record by claiming ALL FOUR MAJORS and winning the elusive grand slam of golf. Tiger will soon rule the world again! Tiger continues to make his $100 million dollar endorsement pocket money OUTSIDE of golf. What an incredible athlete. I hope Tiger continues to be Tiger because the world needs him now more than ever.

I cant believe all of the ungrateful Tiger Woods fans. Tiger has blessed us over the years with his SPECTACULAR, THRILLING and IMMACULATE golf. TIGER IS IN SECOND PLACE ALL TIME FOR PGA VICTORIES. So many of you are jealous of his accomplishments. He is human and had a simple fender bender and it seems most people are ready to crucify him. TIGER WILL BE THE NEXT PREDIENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

Tiger needs to deal with it in confidence with his wife – all the others need to get off. In addition – he’s rich enough to have his own brand – so nike can step off. Tiger needs some good folks around him – not haters and folks poking around his personal life.

All I got from Tiger was the shaft.
