Slept fast. Went to Mass. Now I’m back downtown, chatting again. Last night was great fun — fine game, unexpected (at least by me) result, much to discuss. Example: Why did Paul Johnson call four consecutive deep passes with the game on the line? We know his stylized offense doesn’t feature the short or intermediate pass, but what about the ol’ option toss? Did PJ bail out — mixed metaphor alert — on his bread and butter?
I wish I could say I had great hope for another great game here at the Dome, but I don’t. I figure the Falcons beat the Bucs by three touchdowns. I figure the Falcons need to beat the Bucs by three touchdowns just to remind themselves they can still be a playoff-caliber team, recent results notwithstanding.
Four losses in five games will have a chilling effect on a franchise and its fans, and traffic around the Dome seemed unusually light around 11:30. (And I was running late.) Can’t imagine there’ll be a full house today, but I’m bad at predictions. Example: Tech 42, Georgia 27.
Wrongheaded though I am, I hope we can make the most of whatever this day brings. The idea is to talk about the Falcons, but we can certainly accommodate the occasional Tech-UGA submission. So I ask once again: Join me, won’t you?
Oh, and this one actual snippet of news: Michael Turner is in uniform and seems to be moving expeditiously in warmups. He’ll play. And Jerious Norwood is no longer among the inactives. That makes for a full house in the backfield, which isn’t the same thing as a full-house backfield. But it’s a most welcome sign.

Wow.
I think this game has done it.
I’m done getting angry at “Choke” and the five other names he uses.
The guy is just so transparently racist and even more than that:
He’s mentally retarded.
I mean seriously, I can’t believe I never saw this before. We’re definitely not dealing with a man with an IQ above 75 here (The Gump Line).
So, “Choke,” I’m so sorry for you. I’m sorry I’ve made fun of you. I’m sorry I laughed at you.
You are so obviously mentally retarded.
Now I feel bad.

Props to Redman, Roddy, Gonzalez and all the other heroes of the last drive….but Raheem Morris gets a game ball from me for basically handing the opportunity for the Falcons to win the game. Never seen a coach throw up on himself so bad on that fake punt and the long FG attempt. Punt either time and the game is OVER, Tampa wins.

Ryan never brought them back for a win?
REALLY?
LMAO!
Looks like we have ANOTHER mentally retarded person on the board today.
It’s nice, how they can learn to do simple tasks like type.
But they still need their caregivers to do certain things like turn the computer on and go to the bathroom and stuff.
Good for you, mentally retarded people! You’re doing a great job! Some of you can even make a complex sentence sometimes by using a comma and then “and” “but” and “or”!
Y’all are doing great!

Chris Redman took over the game. That’s it. The running game was gone, and Chris Redman went out and won the game!
That’s what I look for when I talk about a good QB- when the chips are down, give the ball to the QB and let him win the game for you. The passes were crisp and were on target. And that last pass was beautiful.
I think that Matt Ryan learned something today. I think he saw someone that didn’t get scared, kept his poise and went back to his training. As a result, he was in the position to win the game and did just that.
Chris Redman just made Matt Ryan a better quarterback.
Fanatic overboard

Choke, Eagles and Falcons season on the line next week. Winners in the drivers seat. Too bad Vicks skills deteriorated so much that he can’t even get on the field, would have been fun to watch him play the ‘coons.

Yeah, Raheem might have been watching The Gamer Belichik too much. But any win in the NFL is a good win. 6-5 ain’t great but you’re in it, and considering where this team was a couple of years ago, playing out the string with no coach and no QB, I’ll take it. Just be in the hunt, that’s all you can ask. Again, this ain’t SEC football where everyone who shows up gets to go to a bowl. This is big-boy ball.

Elam still should be shown the door this afternoon!! before he leaves the Dome they should be calling him for a debriefing and sorry but we gotta move on talk. We cant keep missing out on FG’s, hell if you’re going to depend on the 3pts you should at least have faith that our kicker will make it. As it stands, abotu the only thing I have faith in is that our kicker will miss at least 1 a game.

Bug Killer, you’re probably right that Choke Troll is a retard, but I’ve suspected all along that he’s just an ordinary jerk. World’s full of ‘em, but now they’ve got a voice. On the other hand, his IQ can’t be that high. Wonder how many retards are actually jerks too?
Go Falcons! 9-7 is all we need this year!
